I had a young lady tell me she was sorry. I told her I didn't believe she was really sorry it was just an excuse for poor service.
She had no idea how to respond so she just kept saying she was sorry but did nothing to correct the problem.
Sorry is the go to phrase for " I have no idea how to help you"!! How about, " I don't know, let me find out"!!!??

This is further annoying when dealing with Amazon, as "NO ONE" there speaks English. They can't even enunciate "I'm Sorry".

One of my happiest days this year, was when Amazon reported ugly earnings and the stock crashed 21% that day.

We had snow yesterday and through the night. Today I see a SUV driving down the highway, covered in snow. As it is moving along, the vehicle is shedding snow and all the cars behind it are having their view impaired. The other crazy thing is that the rear wiper had not been turned on, and the rear window was covered in snow. I know the blades can get stuck due to ice, but really, how hard is it to lift the blade so that it can clear the snow.

It reminded me of a time when I was driving in bad snow early morning to the airport and traffic was dense. One vehicle had a space about 1 square foot scraped for both side windows to view the mirrors and about the same for the windshield. These are the people who cause accidents because they really can't see.

Have to say Amazon in the UK (who I deal with) have fabulous customer service. Everything is dealt with immediately, and if I've bought from another seller, Amazon follows up with a -did you get your refund message within a week also.
My rant, and thank you for this opportunity 😂 - is the World Cup. I like soccer, Football is a business now, so I understand the money-making aspect of it. What really p****s me off is the media and public circus that harked on for weeks about the poor migrants building the stadiums ( the same people that buy cheap tat without asking who makes it) and the fact the gay community can't hold hands or snog in public. Newsflash- NO ONE can hold hands in public, no one is being targeted here. If you don't like it, don't go, or don't watch it.
But what really got me was when it was announced no beer will be sold in stadiums. They do not have a drinking culture; jeez the media nearly fell apart and raised holy hell about it. Suddenly, there's no mention of migrant workers or human rights, because obviously, privileged white people need their beer. Talk about First-world problems!

My friend is using every excuse to not kick his gf out even though she's treating him like crap and seeing another guy. If that guy could financially support her she would never come back. As it is, she's neglecting the baby. He gets home and the baby hasn't had her diaper changed the entire time. So he has to change it-- even though its not his baby. He also has to feed the baby. I want to get some kind of nanny cam for him so he can record her neglecting the baby & see if she's abusing her & the toddler.
He made an excuse about having to go to court to evict his gf but that he technically doesn't own the house so he isn't sure he could do it. But his mother *does* own the house so today I stopped her and told her about how he told the gf to get out and she refused and swore at him. She said she would drag that little whore out by her hair. I then told her what he said about legal eviction. She gleefully told me she could file it and would do it in a heartbeat. I told her I would pay the court fees to get her out and she popped in and told my friend to figure out what paperwork she needs to sign and she'll do it. She stole his car today but he's not going to report it. She didn't tell him she was leaving, didn't ask to take the car, and didn't tell him where she was going. He got up and she and the car were gone. It's a backup car for emergencies but it was still wrong of her. I've told him not to put gas in it. He was too bummed out to even talk about her much today though.

Meanwhile, my brother found out that his boss has been discussing his wages with other people that have no involvement but not with him. He put in what wage he expected to be paid and signed a contract (that did not specify wages) and they want to pay him $3 less than he put down. He still isn't even sure what they intend to pay him for doing a skilled labor job. He's worried they intend to lowball him on wages & he said that if they pay him anything less than the other guy's starting wage he wont work for them and he will refuse to do any of the stuff that is above his pay grade. He said its time for him to start "acting his wage" and if they want him to do extra stuff they can pay him accordingly. They were thinking of leaving the position vacant because he was doing the work already. He's also still very upset about his cat. He blames the vet for not even trying and he said he'd never been so attached to a cat before.

In other news, my shoulder hates me. Having pain radiating from shoulder to elbow and I cant' raise my left arm up much or reach behind my back or lean on it or lift too much with it. Its annoying bc I need to haul the old microwave out and I can't pick it up with my shoulder like this. I lost my balance and fell backwards. I caught myself but it made my shoulder worse.

I am "sick" of hearing or reading (addressed towards me) "I am sorry or were sorry". Companies, their employees, seems like everyone say's "I am Sorry" as if that somehow magically wipes the slate CLEAN.

Now days "I'm Sorry" is totally meaningless. There is zero empathy, sorrow, regret. It is just said to wipe the slate clean. To dismiss what they or their company did.

I would like to just punch them in the face, and say, "I'm Sorry, I meant to punch you in the stomach".
If a person was truly sorry they would stop repeating the offense.

I wish you the best, I HATE Keynote. I'd suggest alternatives, but you are started and short on time :(
SIL called the morning of MIL’s Birthday celebration. SIL decided to postpone the party till next week. So i didn't need to rush and the wife is deciding if we eat the scratch made Birthday cake now and bake a second or freeze it.

I would happily help with eating birthday cake if I was there. LOL.
Completely agree that if people repeat the actions they are apologizing for, then the apology is moot. It's one thing to apologize and never do it again, but its another to just say it as if it would absolve any guilt when they have every intention of repeating it & just want forgiveness.

You might have what I had, rotator cuff injury. The doc gave me some really great stuff to put on it, mine is gone and only hurts a little now if I overdue it. "Diclofenac Sodium Topical"

ordered kerosene for my mothers fuel tank 250 gal. at $10. a gallon , stopped to get gas for my jeep and put the wrong pin no. in so my credit union blocked my card so back to the CU to get that straightened out .....

My rant: I hate the weather
that's all
I am with you on that.

Everything was properly frozen. I had to go out yesterday while it was snowing and wrap my fruit trees in burlap and plastic and also put plastic covered with straw on the ground around them.

The reason being, it is warming up today and we have two days of rain forecast. After that, it's going to get really warm, so I have to take the rain coats off but keep the burlap on and try to keep the trees from breaking dormancy.

Supposed to go back to snow and freezing in four or five days.

I just want winter; not a rotating selection of the four seasons.

I'll have to ask the doctor about that. My brother may need it too. His right shoulder is bothering him.
I popped in to see my friend again and his gf was there giving me stink-eye the whole time. The toddler was locked in his room (they leave the door open but have a baby gate up). He was crying for attention. The gf yelled at him to shut up (with expletives included). I said that he wanted out and she said he wasn't allowed out bc the living room was a mess. I told her she should get on cleaning it then. The baby was in a swing and making a few noises and the gf started shrieking about the baby making noise (she was louder than both of the young ones combined). Friend immediately jumped up to get the baby, but bc I was there the gf picked her up (very roughly). No affection whatsoever. She only holds the baby when other people are around. Won't even feed it or change the diaper when my friend is gone. When he was home she was claiming to not know how to feed the baby.

I had an argument with my friend about him letting her mooch and stay there and he keeps using the kids as an excuse to not kick her out. He's coming up with every excuse under the sun to explain why he's enabling her (which he denies) and refuses to do what is necessary. He wants her gone but he is making her too comfortable there. Let the kids go to foster care-- they'd be better off in foster care than being neglected and abused by her. It's frustrating. He started to cave to the idea of kicking her out but now he's waffling again.

On the upside, my brother's concerns with his pay rate may be moot. The company he just got hired at is losing their contract at the end of the year. A new company is buying out the contract and pays better than the current company and the casino. Techs get paid more than managers at the casino. Friend will be getting a pay raise. So, my brother is looking at possibly getting $15/hr and NOT having to pay NJ income tax on top of Louisiana state tax and federal tax. It used to be that you could deduct your federal tax from Louisiana state tax but they put something on the ballot that was deceptive-- said it was lower % of tax and people voted on it not knowing that it eliminated the federal deduction. So income tax actually went up instead of down. Deceptive/poorly written things on the ballots are one of my pet peeves.

Hope your friend doesn't let the user use him much longer!!

Yesterday, little granddaughter and I got in the car in the morning to go pick up the neighbor girl to drop off for school. Granddaughter pulled behind my car and refused to budge. Honked three times, waiting in between each honk. Little granddaughter got out of the car to tell her to move. She didn't. Finally, her brother gets in the car and they leave. Five minutes had gone by, me waiting to go with the engine running. So I expected the same thing this morning. But had to laugh, she didn't move her car, the windows were iced over and she doesn't have a scraper, and had to wait till the defroster worked. No school till next Monday, so I don't have to put up with that nonsense for a few days. Who does that? We have a huge driveway. We have 23 acres.

My rant for the day is, I have no rant for the day, but the day is yet young, 5 hours to go.
I feel good.
I'm well fed and warm.
My roof and toilet no longer leak,
and I'm not in a bit of pain for the first time ever in ages. I should put my remaining groceries up.

She's got her's coming!! Her foulness will come around!! And who is she going to come crying to??

Thanks, Pearl. I really hope I can break my friend out of this cycle of abuse. His gf, as dumb as she is, knows exactly what she's doing and how to push his buttons. Classic malignant narcissist. She learned it from her adopted mother, sadly. I really hope that the new baby's father will actually grow up enough to take care of the baby. He's not the villain my friend makes him out to be (but he thinks he is bc the gf lies to him). He was 19 when he developed a crush on the gf and she was leading him on strongly. He's the oldest of something like 6 kids & he's the one who raised/took care of the younger siblings. He spent more time holding and feeding the first baby (which isn't his but is probably some crackhead's baby) and taking care of it than the gf did. He's great with babies and small children and he loves the new baby. He's very nurturing. But, he's also mentally ill. Depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. The gf paints him to be some horrible person to everyone else but sucks up to him and paints my friend to be horrible to him & is playing them both. He's an idiot who is not thinking with the right organ. I am concerned about what will happen to the new baby when she gets older bc the gf HATES other females & treats them like crap and gets very toxic. She's awful to my friend's daughter. She gets very jealous and competitive of other females and I'm worried that when the baby gets to the point that she's getting complimented on being pretty that the gf will get jealous and abuse her more. Bc I'm sure she's going to abuse her anyway. She already hits the toddler who doesn't understand a single word other than his name-- but even then, we're not sure how much he actually understands it. I have dogs that understand better than he does. He's a sweet little kid too. He mostly acts up when his mother is around. He needs and wants attention but gets ignored and pushed away. I love my friend, but he's not a good parent and that poor kid would be better off in foster care. I know my friend had bad examples for parents growing up. Both parents used drugs. Neither one could be bothered to take care of him. He grew up mostly with his paternal grandparents but his grandfather beat the hell out of the kids and the wife. He's a narcissist as well who is verbally and physically abusive. The mother would let her druggy friends abuse my friend and she put cigarettes out on him when he was a baby. She allowed her husband to beat him and sexually abuse the sisters. He's never had stability or "normal" relationships with family. It really boils my blood that people get away with that-- especially in light of what AmishHeart went through with the twins.

AmishHeart, I think it sounds like granddaughter was deliberately being a jerk. Hopefully the little one will turn out better.

Magus, I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better. I hope you continue to feel better and have good days.

My day was frustrating. Cats unplugged my computer somehow. Then after figuring it out and getting it back on one of the cats was sitting on the desk tray that has USB ports. I plug my keyboard into it because it gives longer reach. While one of the cats was on top it started acting like keys were being pressed on the keyboard. All sorts of stuff started popping up and it tried to shut down the computer. I stopped it and had to unplug the keyboard. Then two of the USB ports (it has 3) died. I went to boil some water in the kettle in the kitchen but its dead. Checked to make sure it was plugged in properly-- it is but it won't come on. Brother said it worked this morning.
Then, while I was cooking on the portable induction cooktop, the water boiled over a bit. I lowered the heat and cleaned it up but suddenly the controls stopped responding, it popped error codes and was malfunctioning. I tried to move to the other burner but it wouldn't let me turn the heat up high enough. Meanwhile, the heat wouldn't shut off on the side I usually use-- which is now cracked bc something fell on top of it. I think the cracks may have been part of the problem. I'd already boiled my noodles and was in the process of cooking the meat when it flaked out on me. Had to wait several minutes for it to function again but it isn't heating at the rate it should. It's weaker. Took a lot longer to make dinner.

Then when I was using my computer stuff kept crashing. I had to reboot but its running slower than usual. I don't know if its just a bad day or what, but electronic stuff and myself are not getting along today.

my husband found them...got 2..thanks...i didn't think about using these when they crop dust..
YIKES! those will work, but I'd get one of these for chemical use:

I made a hundred yard dash through a 300 degree oven full of methylisocyanate fumes wearing the late 80's model. the stuff blistered my exposed flesh, but my lungs were fine!

mask is comfortable while i worked outside

Reminds me I still have a gas mask used during the Cuban riots at a federal prison back in the 80s. It's hanging on the wall in the front room as a memento.

My body hates me. Been feeling nauseous and tired but trying to fight getting too sick. Brother has been a bigger baby than usual. I'm not trying to be unsympathetic, but it gets frustrating. He was on the verge of pneumonia when I finally got him to go to a doctor. He hasn't helped with bringing in cases of water in weeks and hasn't taken out trash or done anything since even before he got sick. Went to the doctor yesterday and he was coughing up blood with his mucus today. I do feel for him but he apparently has zero concern for me or my wellbeing. Not only did he take the last bottle of water from the case in the living room (which is strictly for me and mom to drink-- mostly mom)- leaving mom with no water to drink, but he drank the entire case of water that was in the front room. He'd been pilfering bottles from the living room as well so he must have consumed 20 bottles of water. He's not even supposed to be drinking the bottled water because I got him filter pitchers. The least he could have done was inform me that he used the last of the water. So, I saw the water in the living room was gone and was pissed. Then I went to go get the water from the front room and was even more pissed that it was gone. He has zero consideration for other people in this household.

Then Mom was harping on me about going out to get cases of water that are still in the truck (I didn't unload them bc my back & shoulder were hurting too much). Remember when I said my brother hasn't helped with carrying in cases of water or even getting them into the cart and out of the cart and into the truck? He doesn't contribute and just takes and then acts like I'm unreasonable to be irritated. If it had been reversed and I had consumed all of something he wanted/needed he would be screaming at me & going on about it for years. Now, normally its not a big deal to go get the water out of the truck, except we've had horrendous rain with wind blowing the rain onto the porch. And the idiots who made the porch back in whenever (probably 1940s) didn't add a texture to it so its super slippery. Add to that our "step" is a round cutout from a concrete septic tank so it isn't textured either. I nearly fell multiple times without having stuff in my hands. I hurt my back and shoulder slipping on the step going into the house. I didn't feel it was safe to try to go out and get the water bottles. My brother said I was being a baby about it. Yeah, bc he wasn't the one who slipped and got hurt & he wasn't the one expected to nearly break his neck getting the water out of the truck. So, I had to find mom something else.

Then I was getting something out of the fridge for her and an empty milk jug fell on my head. I looked up and there were several other pieces of trash from stuff of his that he's been leaving up there AGAIN. The trash can is within throwing distance. It's only 5' away. UGH.

And now Mom is coming down with whatever he had-- al the mucus and nausea and I think I may be getting sick too, but I'm not going to be able to rest like either of them because I have to do the grocery shopping and preparing meals and such. Mom is already childish as it is, but she is a big baby when she's sick. She now may need adult diapers bc she decided her computer game was more important than getting up to go to the bathroom and wet her pants in her chair and didn't bother to tell me so I could wash the cover and clean it up. I noticed the seat was wet and put my hand on it. I had to wash my hands after. Then she told me she wet the bed too. Only she has so much stuff piled up on her bed that I can't get the sheets off.

I'm not really as cranky as I sound but I am tired and aching.

Get one of those bottles and put a price tag on it so you can tell it from the others, fill it full of white vinegar. message sent!
