Since last week I’ve been looking for the title of the truck I sold. Finally went to the courthouse today and paid the $18 to get a new title. I can’t imagine where the old one is at. Like most I keep important papers in cheap fire safes. I’ve always been very organized (have to now because of cfs). But where did I put that title???? It’s not where it’s supposed to be!!! I have the letter from the bank when I paid off the truck loan, in 1999, have the payment booklet too!!! I even have the bill of sale of another truck I sold in 1987!!!! And tax records back to ‘83!!! What did I do with that
title?
Speaking of trucks… my ‘02 silverado has plastic side window deflectors. Being 21yrs old they are trashed, cracked, loose, 1/2 of one is missing. I found a replacement set at LMC Truck (great place for truck parts, especially gmc, chevy, ford, dodge)
Anyone tried removing old deflectors? The old adhesive strip is now a semi-permanent blob.
I got one off this evening using a wood chisel and ‘Goof Off’. Gof pro adhesive remover comes in a little 6oz can. It actually works well, just sloooooow.
The plastic just broke into chunks, easy. I had to be careful with the chisel, tedious and time consuming, took 2 hours. The paint underneath is also 21yrs old (truck could use new paint, the whole thing). I was careful to never touch the paint.
The chisel took off the bulk of the glue. Then I used a paper towel and Goof off. It got dark so I’ll have to wait til morning to check my work closely. I can feel a couple little spots that need a little more tlc.
It's an ext. cab so now I have 3 more to do. Open to suggestions, anyone got a faster way?
The local owned farm supply store near me has extra heavy duty fly swats. I killed a lizard with one! First hit! They'll make short work of a wasp.
Other wise I'd suggest the mini flame thrower of your choice. wd40 has a straw that shoots a precise flame.
