Did 'The Lady' think the mannequins were werid? I never even thought of using mannequins......
They were napping in the storage container when she came to visit. One lays down and holds an old tactical BB gun with "scope" that is spray painted black. He is for the roof in the event the worlds turns even worse. The other two work static posts on the ground and are also well armed with airsoft guns.

Took me 20 minutes, the 'remove card' button no-workee until you add another one, and set it as default.
Did that... well half.
Set new card as default no-workee for 10 minutes until they can 'ring it'.
And then...
The 'remove card' button on the old one no-workee for another 10 minutes.

Make sure any card you put on Amazon as a default is worldwide coverage, sometimes you will get an error with some out of the world provider otherwise especially for specialty electronics.
Check the wires going to the unit to see if they are hot IF they are you have something pulling an overload and causing the problem or the connections including the breaker connections inside buss in the the box may be loose and heating the wires. I could also be over pressure or low oil making the compressor hard to turn. You need a pro to prevent burning something up or putting metal into the system.

It's back up to 83 in here. Ugh. The compressor is under warranty but inside unit is not and I don't think the external wiring is. It's hot outside so anything getting hit with sun will be hot.
My friend declined to get a paternity test on the toddler because he knows its not his kid but he didn't have a son and wanted a son. Plus the 7 guys who were potential fathers are all complete losers who would not have supported the kid or been good parents. We did get paternity test on the 2nd baby that the exgf said was my friend's kid, but the baby came out looking exactly like the guy the ex is with now & DNA proved it wasn't my friend's kid. He'd been broken up with the ex when the child was conceived anyway, but she lied about losing the key, snuck back in and he woke up to her having sex with him while he was sleeping. She didn't get pregnant then but lied and said she was pregnant when she wasn't and subsequently got pregnant from the guy she's with now.

Card I never use was hacked, but the issuing bank caught it really fast.
Yes the wires going to the unit where the breaker is tripped both sides if you can but make sure NOT to touch the unit and ANY wire at the same time or any part of the wire without good insulation on it.
With breakers tripping it is not a good idea to touch the unit at all.
Is the compressor hot to the touch? It could be you are out of gas,

To clarify, the breaker isn't tripping. I am manually turning the breaker off after telling the AC to shut off so it reboots the unit and then I turn it back on. The outside unit shuts off completely but breaker is still on. I couldn't get to the wire going into the outside unit. I need to get pics of how it looks, but there are weeds in the way and a pit and a lovely spider made its web in the way.
There are two metal pipes going to the inside unit- one is wrapped in insulation and was getting cold. The one that wasn't wrapped in insulation was cool the other day but is somewhat warm now. I changed both filters and I went out and cut weeds around the AC as best as I could but some of them were too tough for the tools I have so I am getting a hedge trimmer that can cut up to 1". I'm also getting landscaping fabric to put around the unit once I get stuff cut. I want to put some gravel on it eventually. I also plan to get quikrete locally and put it over where the ground is eroding and wet it to try to reinforce the ground there so it will stop eroding. I might premix some in a wheelbarrow and build up a little bit as well. It won't be a permanent solution. Thinking of getting some kind of wire mesh to help retain as well.
i'll try to get pics later.

Sounds like a thermostat or superheat switch control if the outside unit is running but the compressor is not, that usually means the thermostat is not working properly, coolant is low or the compressor is overheating because of over pressure.

Yeah, I'm going to have to call AC people but got busy with other stuff. Friend ended up not being able to go with me because he had to go get the toddler-- who just turned 4yrs old. Turns out the ex's 2 month old baby had ELEVEN broken bones. So the 2 older kids were taken away. Not clear if it was the ex or her boyfriend who did it. The boyfriend was really good with the oldest one (the one that is now with my friend) but the ex has bipolar disorder and was violent with the oldest kid. But we're not sure if she would get angry enough to break bones on the baby-- although, she did give my friend a blood clot that caused a stroke by hitting him with a metal pot and she would hit him and throw things at him. I wouldn't put it past her to have done it. The poor baby though. Fortunately he won't remember what happened to him but it will be in his medical records.

Z, that 50% humidity says the A/C is struggling to get the moisture under control. I know you mentioned a leak in the ceiling. Make sure your condensate line is free from obstruction and draining outside your house.

That was right after I turned the AC back on after it had been off. Its been staying lower than that usually. But still not cooling. Haven't heard back from AC people yet. Pretty sure there is a breach in the insulation on the ducts though.
I poured bleach down the condensate line again to clear it, but I need to look and see if it comes out the other end.
Friend's ex called me to vent and get advice. She has ADHD so its hard for her to keep a train of thought and relay information sometimes, especially when she's emotional. Turns out her boyfriend did not get arrested and didn't fight security. His mom told my friend that but was exaggerating greatly. Apparently he almost got into a fight with them because they wanted to take him away from his son, accused him of abusing his son, and he was angry. He was on the phone with his mother and she calmed him down and security escorted him outside without incident. He's at home with friend's ex.
What she told me about what she knew was that her bf put socks on the baby while she was at work and that after that the baby's leg started swelling up. He took both socks off. There was a ring around where the elastic had been on both ankles, but no other marks and the whole left leg was still swollen. He took the baby to the hospital and had an x-ray. They confirmed the femur was fractured. The right leg had shown no outward sign of injury. Then later they claimed that the right leg showed signs of broken bones even though there were no marks or symptoms. Baby had been moving the leg and not crying. They then said there were broken ribs. Again, no sign of bruising or outward indications of injury. She said the only one who'd been around the baby at the time she was at work was her bf's 13-yr-old niece and that the niece was a good babysitter & had no history of violence or of hurting babies. That there's no way she would hurt a baby on purpose and that if she'd accidentally dropped the baby that she would have told her uncle.
With the way hospitals are here, I would honestly not be surprised if someone at the hospital literally dropped the baby before or after doing the x-ray and is blaming parents to cover it up. Not sure if that would have resulted in the breaks though. But you never know.
The ex asked the hospital to do tests for brittle bones and they told her that there was no way the baby had brittle bones and that they would not run the tests. They were supposed to call her back with updates about his status-- her supervisor at McDonalds is still making her come in to work despite all that's going on. Oh, and she said the hospital told her there were only 5 broken bones.
The lady from CPS told my friend that the baby did not have brittle bones (don't know if she claimed they actually ran tests or not-- but there is more than one condition and again, don't trust the hospitals here to have done their due diligence) and that there were 11 broken bones. Ex and her bf were told they have to come up with a believable story to explain the injuries or they are both being charged with abuse.
I told the ex she needs to get a pro bono attorney. My friend and his wife believe her that she didn't deliberately injure the baby. I'm inclined to believe her too, since it happened while she was at work. But the father doesn't seem like the type to have hurt bhe baby on purpose either. He raised all of his siblings and never hurt any of them. We all really think there is something wrong with the baby medically rather than any physical abuse.
Edit: She just told me they want to do surgery on the leg that didn't appear to be injured before the baby was brought in to the hospital.
I will note that the ex has had a few broken bones from what seemed like minor falls that shouldn't have broken anything so I'm leaning toward brittle bones being genetic. It has different levels to it and some are extremely fragile while others are just a little less strong than normal bones or simply lack enough collagen for better rebound.

Still no response from AC people and the heat is getting to us. Really got to me badly today. When I tipped my head back to drink some water I got dizzy. When I tilted my head down I got dizzy. When I leaned down to pick up something at the deli in Walmart I almost passed out and had to grab on to the cart. My friend was with me and keeping an eye on me and not letting me bend or lift stuff.
He came out to do some yardwork but ended up spending most of the time rescuing a chicken snake that got tangled up in some mesh on an old torn up mattress. Plus one of my tools-- a 4" mini chainsaw-- either has both batteries dead or the tool itself is dead. Can't get the sucker to turn on. Will have to find something else I guess.

More an observation than a rant. I have some craft materials I'm giving away for free, and put them in a particular forum. I offered to post them at the persons cost- which would be a fiver in a prepaid envelope, as they are quite heavy. Nope- everyone who jumped on board, getting something for free, doesn't want to pay the costs. They expect me to give items and ship obviously.
Now I know people are broke a bit, but they have no problem sharing pics of the 'bargains'they found in certain craft shops.

A few years back we had a big pecan year, we have 3 pecan trees. My wife's sister was here & we gave her some when she left to give out to the family. We very soon we got requests from everyone for more. Pecans in volume are heavy btw. So that year I paid $130 in postage just to get rid of pecans that it had taken us months to shell. In return I got a thanks those are great & keep us in mind when you get more. Yea, sure I will.

Magpie, I think it's crappy of people to expect you to foot the bill for shipping something you are giving away for free. $5 isn't that much.
Patchouli, we can't really fit them in the bedroom windows that need it due to furniture placement. Still hoping to get it fixed. Will call AC people again tomorrow since today is a holiday. if they don't answer or call back I'll try the place that installed the outside unit to see if they can help with diagnosis.
I'm still feeling a bit off and lightheaded. Pressure in my sinuses and generally feeling cruddy.

I thought it was labor day. Unless that is next week. I'm out of it. LOL. Still feeling cruddy and off-balance.
Mom had a meltdown because I got her some enchiladas and when I went to get the sour cream I found that my brother had left the lid halfway off and it was moldy. I suggested alternatives and Mom started screaming at me that she should just throw the food away. I walked out and when I went back to the door to sneak a glance, she was eating. i asked her if she wanted milk with her food but she made angry pug face at me and turned away. So I said screw it and went to lie down again. She paged me to later acting as if she hadn't been a complete hag to me and asked me to put the leftovers away.
I'm too tired to deal with the BS and the AC people still haven't called back.

yeah. Total brain fart. At least I'm feeling a little better today but still not fully recovered. AC people *finally* answered and came out. So, the guy gets inside and Mewlatto decides to pick that moment to take a massive dump in the litterbox in the hallway and not bury it. It stunk so badly the guy gagged and ran outside. Refused to come back in. Can't really blame him. So I had to check on things. I saw ice inside the underside of where the coils are the circulation compartment and it was dripping. I'd previously poured a bunch of bleach down the condensate line. They had me turn the AC to heat (max it would go to was 72) and water started pouring out the drain. Coolant was low so there is a leak somewhere. Ugh. Will have to get a black light and go around looking for it but not sure where to look.
It's been a few hours and the AC has only cooled to 78 and it was $400 for the "repair".
Oh, I went to the doctor to have blood drawn but apparently the doctor forgot to put in what tests to run and they didn't want me to waste $ and not get all the right tests or get ones I didn't need so they told me to come back after he puts in the orders after my appointment next week. So I got up early and waste a trip into town.
It's been a few hours and the AC has only cooled to 78 and it was $400 for the "repair".

This just seems like a bad move to me. I don't smoke. I never have. I will never buy a pack of cigarettes. I don't care to breathe second hand smoke. But I have friends/acquaintances that smoke. They're considerate and don't blow smoke in my face. If they want to smoke in a way/location it doesn't bother others, more power to 'em.
If this silly store wants to improve community health, what are they going to ban from their shelves next? Beer? What about red meats? How about heavily processed foods? Most every thing they sell is probably bad for you. The entire breakfast cereal aisle will have to go. Pop Tarts? Cheetos? Some of the healthiest things on the planet in their minds I guess. Pretty soon all's they'll have left is a heavily curated produce section (gotta get rid of those high carb white potatoes and only sell sweet potatoes, 'ya know). If they're going to get rid of the smokes and leave the Little Debbie's and Twinkies, they're pretty hypocritical.
I wonder if the store thinks it's going to attract more customers with this move. Have customers ever chosen a store because it doesn't sell something? (other than an insignificant few nitwits that are perpetually offended and protest everything)

They want to ban cigarette sales but they don't want to give their employees medical leave and sometimes refuse to accept doctor's notes. They don't even let them have sick days for Covid now (at least my local Walmart doesn't). Mixed signals. They do not care about their customers nor their employees. There must be some financial reason for this decision. They think they will get more $ out of it somehow.
Meanwhile, my best friend is getting frustrated with his ex and the whole situation. We argued a little about her honesty (or lack thereof). He is convinced that her boyfriend beat her up and put holes in the walls bc she claimed he did it. He said she had bruises on her arms. But he also knows she lied about him and told people he beat her up. He knows she broke her own arm while attacking him bc she slipped and fell while charging at him. He knows that its entirely possible that the bruises were from the boyfriend trying to stop her from hitting him (by grabbing her arms) and that she could have put the holes in the walls. But he doesn't want to accept it. He also found out he was wrong about the timeline. She can't even remember what day things happened and she can't relate the order of events or times bc she has ADHD and her mind jumps around and she gets confused. She also has schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

I hope anybody that beat that child rots in jail. No sympathy for anybody on that. And I hope whoever that was is neutered or spayed because they don't deserve to have a child. Ever.

My rant was finding a perfectly good slate hen turkey dead this morning. She wedged her head in the corner of the chain link, probably trying to get away from an over amorous tom. Don't think it was a raccoon, cuz he would of eaten her head.
Our oldest daughter posted her rant on facebook (darling.bees). I'll have to call her later, she was stung in the face and half her face is OMG.

Amish Heart, I agree. Its starting to look more and more like it could have been the ex who did it. If she wasn't on her meds she could have flown off the handle and hurt the baby due to her bipolar disorder. Her therapist told my friend that if she's off her meds she is a danger to others and that it was only a matter of time before she seriously harmed someone and that she *would* abuse a baby (that was back when the 4-yr-old was still an infant). I've noticed that she says things like "I would never" and "I'm not about to abuse my kids" but has never said "I didn't hurt my baby" or "I didn't hurt my kids". The 4-yr-old has been slapping people and trying to slap them now. He tried to slap my friend's mother so he probably caught hands for that. Friend's mom abused my friend when he was a baby and toddler. The ex was abused & neglected by her bio parents and then abused by her adopted mother. She was raised thinking violence was the norm. Only reason they adopted her instead of just fostering was bc they found out they could get more money from her social security than they could for fostering her and that they could continue to collect it after she turned 18 so long as she stayed with them. But she still does know right from wrong.
If someone asked me which of the two (the ex or her bf) would abuse a kid, I'd say the ex. Especially when off her meds. I'm hoping it wasn't her or her boyfriend but its not looking good for either of them at this point.
Meanwhile, there are a bunch of holes in the siding of the house on the west side and I'm not sure what caused them. A couple months back I thought I heard hail hitting the side and roof though. It doesn't line up with all the loose cables and tree branches. Too high to be reached by cow's horns. No holes along the south side. Didn't see any on north side but haven't checked east side.
