Can't wait for the spinoff. My favorite part of zombie movies is seeing how it all spreads and the folks slowly realizing and coming to grips with the situation. Very dramatic and tense moments on film. Think Dawn of the Dead, the beginning scenes (think that's the one....in the mall). Or Day of the Dead, with the constant map updates of the outbreak, etc.

Not zombies but I have been trying to catch a movie on Starz latly called The Day and every time its on something comes up .
With all the twist and turns on WD dont be surprised if Gabriel becomes a valued member of the group . Im not a fan of his he reminds me of one of the warm and fuzzy feel good Preachers . But something tells me he will fill a bigger role before they kill him off .

I hope not. If anything, at least Maggie and Sasha pretty much got his number. They know he can't be trusted, and now, the community knows he's the one who left the gate open. So, not looking too good for the preacher, any way you slice it.
I just can't see how the community ever survived before Rick's group.
They can't seem to deal with zombies well, so I can't imagine they ever actually fought off the Wolves...so how did they not simply get overrun by them, by now? The Wolves obviously have surveillance there. So far, my only guess is bad timing. By the time the Wolves found Alexandria, was same time Rick's group got there...so complicated things.

With all the Brits behind this sieries Im sure before its over with there will be a spin off showing whats going on in some parts of Europe .
Wonder if im reading to much into the scene in season 2 or 3 where Rick meets the crazy lady that lives in the woods outside the prison that has the turned baby , She is talking about a flight to or from Africa ? Just saying the way they bring stuff up from past episodes .

If the note writer got out, how did he/she then know it was a trap and bad people were coming? (if they didn't stick around for it?)

Yeah, not so sure about this new show. Was more than a bit slow, and a lot of unnecessary stuff. Still, giving it a shot though. Is it wrong that I already want everyone under 20 to die? (except the pimply conspiracy kid who actually has a handle on what's going on). All the kids are such horribly unlikable characters with no redeeming qualities. What's with the Mylie Cyrus look-alike? At least the drug addict kid came through towards the end.
Still, after what the couple has seen, I'll bet the next day these idiots get up, get dressed for work, etc. instead of getting the hell out of LA at all costs, as fast as they can.

I've read the storyline is going to stay urban. As you said, why the heck would anyone stay in that environment!!!!

It will shape up , different story line and type of folks . This show should fill in alot of the story line of what happened while Rick was in a coma and what happened around the Country . Since there was little notice it may have started on the West Coast . I bet they still dont say what caused the break out . Seems like I heard its already signed for 6 seasons .

Technically the other group (The Walking Dead), did the same from Atlanta. As did Rick when he woke up. I'd still think getting out of the city would be a few episodes at least...though for these guys, after seeing what they've seen in the first episode, I'd be SO out of the city before other people wised up to it.
Typical people wrapped up in thier own importance and drama , they'll waite to be recued by athorities . They don't know a major sh*t storm is heading thier way . I think the teacher and his junkie step son will pull it togeather . Maby throw in a street thug that has some good in him and knows how to fight then a survivalist prepper type that has skills and supplies . As far as staying in the City they may but it wont be a city for long it will become a ruine . You could bugg into a ruine if needed .
The final episode was pretty good, although I can't believe how short the seasons are now. Hector releasing the zombies from the stadium was awesome. On a different note, just the shear number of the affected/infected in a major city would be impossible to deal with, but as quiethart said, it wouldn't be much of a show if they just left.
I saw the premier of the walking dead last night. It definitely started big. I'm guessing the wolves or the Drs son was blowing the horn. Am just glad it's back on. One of my guilty pleasures no doubt.

I'm a little confused, is Fear The Walking Dead, and The Walking Dead the same show? I just started watching zombies shows on TV and I'm a little lost.
The Walking Dead is the original series, based off of a graphic novel (adult comic book) series. Fear The Walking Dead is a spinoff series based on it, showing the same universe from the El Lay perspective, kind of a prequel, as it showed the slow collapse or law and order as the government lost control.

Season 6 Walkin Dead got off to a fast start .
A question that a guy at work started is on Fear twd episode 1 a DR came in to check the heart patiant that went into cardiac arest when the junkie was there after being hit by a car . This guy at work swears its the same DR that is at the Hospital in Atlanta where Maggies Sister got killed . He sees a merging of the 2 shows as Fear twd moves on .
Not the DR that is taking care of the junkie but one that steps in says something about the heart patiant and leaves .
