Looking at buying a self sustaining house and property in the Ozarks tomorrow. Will be moving soon for our final bug-in location. Then 3 months of additions and work upgrading the solar battery system.

View attachment 7092 View attachment 7091 I don't know if this has much to do with prepping, but I feel good about finishing a part of a project here. I just finished installing the doors in my sons place on the property. I had to custom make the due to the roof angle upstairs. Tomorrow I will install more trim, and shortly will start building cabinets.View attachment 7091
I can finish it just fine, but am probably the slowest person around! I've seen crews of Hispanic guys do a whole house in two days, hanging and finishing. I'm more like two days on each room.... I can gladly give you tips on how to make it easyier though, just not much with speed! beer, ribs and good company is tempting though!Hey, if you're the Sheetrock finisher, I got some projects for ya! I'll supply the materials and ribs and beer!
Great job on the doors!

Well things went well, we will be moving soon. 2 story green offgrid home. Shed-workshop with covered area, root cellar. Got just over 100 acres, natural spring fed ponds, solar power system, wood burning stove, 500 gal. Propane tank, 2 fireplaces, 2 acre garden below pond, gravity fed irrigation. 5 acres of pasture all on side of mountain 1500'+ above sea level. It's loaded with hard woods. There is a buried telephone line com8ng in, but nothing else. Will ad a satellite dish, another 500gal Propane tank and a truckload of coal. It has refrigerator/freezer and a high efficiency washer and gas dryer and gas generator. I will also have to add more solar panels and batteries. I'll need to built a barn and chicken coop.
So much work to do now.
Picked up 15lbs of tannerite, helps with stump removal during target practice.
I didn't know what tannerite was till I googled it. Sounds like a blast to play with..... is it legal to own?Picked up 15lbs of tannerite, helps with stump removal during target practice.

Learning is probably the most important prep you can do. I think a second language is really smart too, especially Spanish as it is so commonly used. We all have budgets to work with, so just do what you can as you can afford it. My best advice in life is don't buy anything on credit. Pay as you go and you will have so much more in the long run. My personal opinion on supplies and stuff is start with water. Hardly anyone has enough stored, ways to filter it or access to a clean source if an emergency happens. Welcome to the forum. My efforts are really going to seem meek to some but still
•made some random generators for items to pick out when shopping (for variety), covering all the major food groups but maintaining a price point per oz of 28cents/oz or less (mostly walmart retail)
•made my budget for groceries (my main arbitrary cost bill) and allowed for stocking up on non perishables over time I can pick up
•Joined Doomsdayprepper forums -yay!
•In the process of learning Spanish as well as how to ferment my own ethanol/vodka/sugarwash (it's very interesting, many uses)

I just started putting small things together for a bug out bag. This week, I created a small first aide kit, got a multi tool (knife), some thin nylon rope, a small LED flashlight, collapsible scissors. Next week, I will add to that.
Baby steps! One thing I always try to impress upon people is water filtration. I'd take a good water filter over a weapon any day. I also think it is so important that having a spare is not an option to me.I just started putting small things together for a bug out bag.
