I went and picked up catfish plates for the folks, got one myself. Very poor catfish... I've noticed lately that restaurants are up about 20% with a corresponding drop in quality on meats. I haven't been able to buy frozen catfish fillets in a year. Thankfully I can still get quality fresh catfish at the high end grocery store $$, pricey. It's about time to make some fish baskets and take them to the swamp. About the only way I can afford good fish.

While visiting mom at the nursing home, she said she'd like to have Casey's pizza for dinner tonight instead of the nursing home chow. Those of you who aren't from the Midwest probably aren't familiar with Casey's pizza, but it's a staple out here and since just about every little town has a Casey's convenience store in it, you can get it everywhere. So, what mom wanted, mom got. I ran out to Casey's and brought back a pepperoni and mushroom pizza for dinner...

So, what mom wanted, mom got. I ran out to Casey's and brought back a pepperoni and mushroom pizza for dinner...

Locally Pilot oil sold most of their stations to Casey's. I see signs at various stations that Casey's pizza is coming soon. Guess I'll be checking them out

It tends to be a bit greasy because they load it up with cheese and meat. But it's good stuff...

Here in the south we have "Hunt Brothers Pizza"... Can't make pizza worth a darn, they should have stayed in the silver market.

We have Gambino's Pizza. They deliver the 15 miles out here so everyone orders from them. The amish have big families and order lots of pizza in one order, like 4 or 5 large ones, so it seems to be worth it for Gambinos. We did have a pizza place pop up for awhile in our little town, but they went out of business when Gambinos started to deliver. They were better.

That looks good. I like schnitzel, but have never made it. I've been wanting catfish, collards, cornbread, but it seems so expensive now and the place I usually get it is temporarily closed. I think I should make my own. I'm house sitting, so try not to cook too much and make a mess.

Yes, small town North Dakota have Casey's and it is where people get their pizza.
