Already had my meal hours ago, but I took some pics, lol... I really shouldn't call it carne asada, it's more like 'chunky steak burrito mix!' So good with all the fresh peppers, onion & tomato! Lots of shredded cheese melted on a flour tortilla, then the mix, a quick roll job, and some avocado on top, along with habanero sauce as a garnish... downright delicious! I didn't feel like having sour cream today, just the avocado, but the first burrito was so good that I made another (slightly smaller the second time around, as you can see in the pics, lol). Here ya go... :D

Yes, that's the SMALLER second burrito you see in those pics, the first one was HUGE but it got Hoovered in record time, lol. I used real butter & beer to sautee the veggies, then added chunks of rare London Broil to simmer for a few moments. Those Albuquerque Tortillas are pretty tasty, I always make sure I get some that are heller fresh, not stale like they've been sitting on the store shelf for three weeks, lol. Shredded Kraft 'Mexican' Cheese, nuked for a minute in the Metal Mulisha Microwave to get it good & hot, then the piping hot mix dumped on top.

Pineapple soda to go with the burritos... hit the spot, I tell ya, I won't have to eat again tonight, lol. Enough leftovers for at least two more burritos (last pic), I put 'em in a smaller pot for temporary storage (plastic sheet over the food, under the lid). I'm already using some storage containers, I'll have to switch stuff around tomorrow and make additional room. I didn't bother making the spaghetti sauce today, I'll do that manana; the ground beef looks fine, no need to cook it today, though I will cook it tomorrow just so the sauce can sit in the fridge for a day or two. Always better that way, lol...

P.S. Don't mind the dirty plate in the pics, couldn't be bothered to grab a new one after I demolished the first burrito, lol. I actually used more hot peppers and less tomato in the mix, but those pics are just so y'all can see the fresh flavorful ingredients, lol. I do a lot of cooking with fresh produce, but I also make killer salads with raw produce, more enzymes that way, yeah? It's all about enzyme nutrition here at the ol' hacienda. Well, it just rained for a few moments, but not enough to soak the ground, so I reckon I'll go water the goldurned trees & plants. Hasta Luego!!! 🤠

I've been cooking for 51 years, I started when I was 10 years old as a way of relieving stress for me dear departed mum, who was going through a bitter & ugly separation & divorce at the time. So, yeah, I've learned something along the way, lol... I used to cook for large groups of people at the ol' hacienda in Coronado, mostly family & friends, that's why I'm used to cooking in large batches. I love leftovers, folks don't give primo leftovers enough credit, lol. 😒

This batch of burrito mix wasn't that large, it was tailored to fit the size of the steak, and I actually set enough steak aside to make a burly steak sandwich later this week, lol. I like my steak sandwiches, but today I felt like having a steak burrito with avocado... I won't call it guacamole, as I normally add things to avocado to make my custom guacamole, but it doesn't matter, fresh avo still tastes good with the chunks of steak and other ingredients. 😀

I think everyone---male & female---should learn how to cook, it's a valuable skill and it will save ya heller money in the long run, lol. One can actually eat BETTER than at restaurants, and the food is healthier too. I run a tight ship in the galley, I don't tolerate funky germs and cross-contamination where my food is concerned. That's another risk ya run at restaurants, the possible food-borne illness, lol. I still eat at restaurants on occasion, but I get more value by cooking at home. 😁

"Sugar is evil!"

Agreed upon by the camp of conventional trained doctors and especially the new breed of metabolic awareness doctors.

The problem is how sugar is defined. (the Rock snatches the microphone:) "it doesn't matter what you think!!!"

How does the pancreas define sugar? That is what is important. Because anything that you eat that causes a rapid spike in blood glucose - IS sugar to your body.

*sorry. Didn't know whether to post that here or rant? But spending too much time at hospitals with diabetic mother and the professional ignorance is overwhelming?

Next time add a little heat!

Not
Do you have a particular recipe or what seasoning do you use? I'd like to try that

Not sure Snappy, but I am thinking
A egg or milk. Wash. Dredge in a corn meal/brown sugar. Dry mixture and bake at 350. We do that to think cut bacon
