Some ones Aunt worked Michigan state, it was a thread one this site, I think.

That's probably the one I posted, turned out to be crap thankfully. She works at a Federal facility in Battle Creek.

Thank you, thought I dreamed it. A lot of email rumor are put out by bored people every time we vote in a new POUS.

Hospital cafeteria has holes in different spots now.
It's been closed off/on to visitors, and just staff are utilizing it, however we finally opened back up to visitors.
Prices have all been jacked up sky high. For one unsweetened bottle of iced tea, they want $3.75. I bought a 6 pack last night before I started my stretch for $7.
One banana is $2 and a hard boiled egg is $2.50.
I have been bringing my own hard boiled eggs (courtesy of my chickens) -- and bought a bunch of bananas for $3 at the market last night.
Today I brought all my own food to the cafeteria for breakfast -- a group of us will have breakfast together before we start the day (unless anything crazy is going on) - and the head cafeteria person wanted to kick me out as I brought my own food - told him to shove it and I wouldn't be buying anything from the cafeteria until the prices weren't so ridiculous. I can understand a bit of markup, but $2.50 for an egg is ridiculous -- plus the eggs are terrible and taste like rubber.

Had to go back to Costco today to do an unexpected return. Grabbed a few more chickens for the freezer. Went up $0.50 exactly from last weeks purchase of the exact same ones. Shelves there were pretty full considering including the meat section.
Can I ask how much you paid? I paid $1.28/lb yesterday for whole birds (got 2 for the freezer.) I like chicken, but Hubby isn't a fan. I figure I can grill him a steak and me a bird.

And how! The catalytic converter in my '06 Prius went, and it actually made sense to replace it at $800 in a 16 year old car with 235K miles on it. I was looking at similar used cars for $7 to 10K!
Dude! have a metal forming shop make an adapter and use a ten dollar refurbished one.

Prices up on almost everything at Walmart. I was going to wait until Monday, but...

Almost all prices stated on shelf rang up 10 to 30 cents more at register. I'm think that they make a lot of extra money with that gig! And prices on most items were up since I was there a week ago. Wasn't there for much and they had what I needed for back up stock, but yikes!

I have become accustomed to things being a little short and have been pleased to see that most things in this area are now being fairly well stocked. I have noticed that no one seems to have any lemonade, it's not all that important but I get these cravings and it's annoying....

The prices seem to be shifting in waves, they go up a little, then fall back, then back up, always with a final resting place that is much higher than pre-Biden days. The chickens I use to buy for $6 are now $8 each, not a big shift but it is a shift...

Why is there a candy shortage?!

I know candy's not a priority and all, but. . .why? WHY? Are people panic hoarding Starburst and Smarties and I don't know about it?
My guess is that they are having trouble getting sugar or other supplies. Then again the supply lines out of the factory may be slow also.

So far the peeps at our Tractor Supply are still hovering around $3.50, but it looks like some are $3.75 and $4.00. I'm still going to get more this spring, though.

I've seen lemonade around me, but Tang is in short supply.

I'm guessing it's supplies, like maybe the flavorings? I noticed Skittles were in short supply too around December. Now they're in stock. But Starburst are tough to get, which were available in winter. Are Skittles consider Christmas candy and Starburst Easter candy and I never knew? I know they make Starburst jelly beans around this time, so maybe they're diverting their production to that?

Intrigued me - had to read it all twice. I kinda think @UrbanHunter was speaking of grocery store chicken rather than farm supply chicks 😊 I might be wrong.
A possibility on the candies in addition to what's been said - candy companies don't just make one kind of candy. Many factories are hurting for labor like everyone else. They have to set a schedule to use the workers they have so it might be a skittle run this week and snickers won't be made again until the 23rd + delivery time etc. This is what is happening in the metal mills right now as well. Compound that with lack of truckers since many of them are on a long haul and/or being forced out of business ;)

Finally made it to Costco and was surprised they had brown eggs and they were cheaper than the local grocery store. We have been paying $7 for 18 brown eggs since Christmas. Costco was 2 dz for $7. Milk was a little higher than our pre Christmas trip but not by much. Still cheaper than the grocery store.

Shelves were stocked but there wasn't any comfort junk food in sight. No holes in the shelves just not there. Not that we buy that crap. Rice doubled in price! Even for the California grown rice! We stuck to our list and got very little and still walked out with $400 less in my wallet.

Target was lacking in canned goods. I didn't go for anything else since they are not listing canned goods like beets on their sight for shipping anymore.

I might have to watch inventory and prices online before making a trip out. Things are fluctuating almost hourly! It is insane!

No shortage here, I bought ten pounds yesterday of various kinds.
mostly Hershey bars and Reese's cups.

I bought all our Easter candy a few weeks ago just in case. I did that for Christmas with the Rice Krispies for treats. Just now seeing it back in stores. First time since September.

At the really world yesterday in N Ga and there was no sketti noodles at all just a cupla boxes of other forms of pasta, flour almost gone , one four pound bag of beans,no bags of rice, sugar very low, we did buy half of the available Van Camps poke and beans,no cooking oil and I was still unable to get some extra oil in the weight and quality for the vehicles.
This is the first of the month since the worries in Europe ramped up so this may be a result of the buying binge from the people who only get paid at the first of the month.

Ran to Big Lots, first can of baked beans had 1.69 on it, so I grabbed 5. They had organic pacific tomato soup in a carton, said 3.50. Got to register, the soup rang up 3.99. Told her wrong price, she looked and said good thing you picked these ones up, the price went up with our new shipement. Rang up beans, the one marked 1.69 was correct, the rest 2.29. Same reason! Thats a big jump in price from one shipment to the next.

Oh. Ha ha ha. That makes more sense. I had peeps on the brain, especially since I'm itching to buy another 12.

That's true about factories making multiple candies. Chocolate was in fairly good supply, but original Starburst were gone or priced way higher than I wanted to pay. Junk food is the only thing that keeps the weight on me so I wanted to get extra candy on hand. Any candy will do, but I was hoping for original Starburst. Oh well!

Wow! I'm going to have to keep my eye out for that. We use to hit their clearance section all the time and get steals. We scored pasta for 25 cents a box and cereals for 75 cents or less. They hardly mark anything down to be worthwhile now.

Stopped late last night at Auto Zone to get oil for my truck. They do not have any 15w-40 for diesels. It was too late to try another store so came home and looked online, one Oreilly's store did not have any and the other store across town has only 2 options, full synthetic at $32 a gallon and Royal Purple brand full synthetic for $39 a gallon. My truck needs 3 gallons, soooo I am heading to Costco for their 3 pack of dinosaur oil for $39. Actually gonna get two cases so I am good for a while.

Follow up on my previous post....

After a 4 store adventure today I finally got enough oil for my truck, actually for 2 oil changes but that wasn't my initial plan.

Costco did not have any 15w-40 oil for diesels, but they had some online so I ordered enough for 2 oil changes each for my truck and for the GF's car.
Oreilly's only had their store brand and only had five 2.5 gallon jugs. They had no 1 quart bottles of 15w-40 in any brand. So, buying 2 of the big jugs I had enough for one oil change but that left me 1 gallon short for the next oil change. We went to the grocery store and I found 3 quarts so I bought them, then went across town to the other grocery store to buy one more quart so at least I have enough to do 2 oil changes.

Also, at Oreilly's the oil for gasoline engines was getting slim, some bare spots and some low in supply. Costco only had 5w-30, but at least they had two options, dinosaur and synthetic.

I never expected to see this shortage. But, I am not surprised.

Commin corez maths is smart mathz, don't ya hate, man!

:)

I am so glad that I never had to suffer with common core math. I'll admit I can do wanky figurations in my head at times that looks like something right out of a common core lesson book, but I get the right answer. Years of extreme couponing math and calculating servings I guess got my brain wired differently lol.

One time my sister was like "How'd you get the answer so fast?" so I tried to explain to her my math equating and by the end she just shrugged and was like, "Okay. Well at least you know how to do it!" XD But these poor kids in school now. That stuff is torture.
