Of all things I wasn’t feeling well last night guess I had a heart attack. Felt even worse today so I had Alexandra take me to the hospital this evening.
Currently waiting in the ER for a room.

Dang buddy, you better take care and do what the cardiologist tell ya .
They have saved my bacon more than a few times.

Get better my friend.

Jim

I've used it for years.
I can tell you , if you turn it on high , leave the house for an hour or more, and when you come home , turn it off .
The house is spring time fresh smelling , odors gone, and it's clean.

You wouldn't like our house ....it is old, dusty most of the time ( especially in winter when the wood stoves are on) and probably smells like all sorts of stuff we don't even notice anymore ( goat buck clothes from the barn hanging in the hallway, dead rats under the house or in the walls, stinky wet dogs , curry , red cabbage , weed I smoke for my anxiety, smoke when we open the wood stove to fast to add wood, probably mold somewhere, you name it it's probably there ...) . We don't even notice anymore since the barn smells worse and we clean it all the time.

I am ready for winter to be over and open the windows!! But that doesn't always help either more often than not the smoke from the neighbors drifts in. Some of them have huge burn piles and also use the wood stoves to cook most of the year

Sonya, I'm noseblind to a lot of the smells in my house. My friend wears a mask to come in. So, its pretty bad. Cat pee, dog pee, probably some dead mice, dust, etc.

I'm awake early-- been waking up around this time lately. Took my vitamins. Plan to go to Samsclub today but Panda (our favorite restaurant) doesn't open until 11 or 11:30 and we like to eat there before shopping. Partially to contribute to a small business but also because the food is so good. I get chicken with broccoli, egg drop soup, long beans, and chicken sticks.

Smalltimefarmer, I've never tried dehydrated oranges. I used to eat a lot of fresh oranges when we lived in California.

Not me, I like things clean. It is a constant challenge with the three grandkids, my messy husband, and stuff being tracked in from the farm. Uncle Melvin's 98th birthday today. His boys are bringing him to the pizza place this evening in the bigger town, we'll pick up mom and bring her, and it'll be a big party. Photocopying meals in a jar recipes for my nephew in Oklahoma. He got a dehydrator and a food saver for Christmas, and is ready to get some meals together.

@hashbrown - prayers headed your way for a quick and complete recovery!

@phideaux - we've had some ozonator mishaps as well, we learned really quickly that ozone will find any opening available to it to leak out! I've found because O3 can be so deadly, it's a great way to deal with pantry moths if you ever get them without any risk of food contamination :waiting:

Not doing a damn thing. Tried to push prior to Christmas to get things squared away so I could finish taping and mudding the drywall for inspection. No one here wanted to help and while I was working they were sitting on their azz or lying in bed. Trash bags piled up outside the front door because the GF's oldest sons were not taking it to the dump 1/2 mile a way, on the way to work no less. Everyone wanted to decorate for Christmas and kept nagging me to give the OK. Finally said go ahead and I just stopped working on the house. I could have got back at it this week but I have no desire to do anything. Just to make their life more comfortable?
I do need to get it past final inspection so I can pull a mortgage and pay off a few things, and have money to pay income taxes in April, and take a bag of cash on a month long vacation away from here, but I just don't want to do anything. Shoulda never started building, shoulda cut it down, woulda shoulda.
Aside from that, I fed the fish today, sitting here drinking hot tea. Maybe I should go for a walk. I could walk to Yellowstone, I hear that is pretty this time of year.

Just a short stroll, huh?

@hashbrown , I hope you are feeling better today and the docs are treating you well--or you are home!

I walked first and then walked dogs.
Since then, have been in various stages of pressure canning dog food. Still on first round and there will be another round when this finishes. It's usually an all day process. I try to think positively about doing it (my peanut is still with me--she gets seizures from chemicals and preservatives).
Probably won't be done in time this eve to go to Prayer meeting. We will see.

Feeling great! better than I have in months. Scheduled for the lab in the morning. I hope I don’t need a stent. Sitting around in a hospital gown makes a damn long day!

I can relate to how tou feel.

Doing a big project like a house solo is not for the faint of heart.

Focus on the end goal and get behind you.

This song helped me stick it out many times.

Today I cleared all of the nails from the ceiling rafters of the great room.

The house is well over 100 years old and was built with mill work paneling on the ceiling. We salvaged all of the paneling and may try to sell it if I don't find a good use for it elsewhere. Most of the boards are 13' long.

Tomorrow is trash day. The pickup bed is full of the packing material from the cabinets and appliances.

Glad your feeling better HB. Keep it up and don't MOON too many folks. Course they are probably used to that.

Ordered some batteries for one of my handheld radio's (ham). Also ordered a couple of new radios, one the same as the one I have FT-60 Yeasu, the other a VX-4R. That thing is tiny. But puts out 5 watts. Got the sitting on the chargers right now and will start programming once that's done.

Stopped by the store on my way home to pick up some stuff. Most things were in stock, say 75-80%. Prices seem fairly stable for last 3-4 weeks for the most part.

I spread rabbit manure on a friends garden & we sit & talked about our sons in BSA.
I got some RM for myself, but he has more.
I am tired 🥱.
It takes me all day to do what I use to do all day.

Inresponse, I know that feeling all too well. I've put off so many things because I'm the only one working on stuff/cleaning. My best friend would help more if he wasn't so busy all the time.
Hashbrown, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better.
I cleaned the counters, cleaned the toilet, scrubbed the bottoms of appliances that sit on the counter (I'm constantly having to clean counters bc my brother makes messes and cats walk on the counters with muddy paws).
Took my brother with me to help lift the water cases. Stopped at Panda to eat. Chicken sticks were overcooked (which is unusual) but the rest of the food was good. I ate more than usual. Owner was very happy to see us. I greeted him in Mandarin and then greeted one of the waiters in Spanish. I always thank the Chinese waitstaff in Mandarin and thank the Mexican waiter in Spanish.
Got stuff at Samsclub and then popped in to Lowes to get some hardware stuff and some paint chip samples for Mom to compare to the countertop sample. They didn't have Behr paint chips at Lowes so I had to go to Home Depot to get more paint chips. Thus far she's liking the Behr paint color we already have. But a wall color needs to be decide as well. She did like a couple of the Valspar colors though. She's undecided.
I popped in to see my friend and got a file on a thumb drive to install on my computer. I let him borrow my phone to set up his new sim card for his new phone service.
Cooked for Mom, fed the cats, loudly sang obscene songs in the kitchen before Mom came out, changed to less obscene ones (but still loudly) while she was walking through the kitchen. One of the cats was hollering at me while I was singing which cracked Mom up. She also laughed about the "River Troll" line in one of the songs.
My sinus headache is back but very dull. I need a nap.

Also ordered a couple of new radios, one the same as the one I have FT-60 Yeasu, the other a VX-4R.
What is the VX-4R? Is this a new release? I am not familiar with that one, and can't find it on Yaesu's website. For close but not exact model numbers, I only see a VX-6R, and a FT-4XR.

I have been thinking of getting a backup for my FT-60R (not thinking too hard, since it's been months since I last looked!) Back then, I kind of came to the conclusion that the best backup for a FT-60R might just be another FT-60R - so I wouldn't have to learn another user interface. Possibly a Kenwood TH-K20A (2 meters only) if I was going to invest in learning a second UI. I am unsure about the super small radios. For transport that would be nice. But I'm not sure I could get a solid grip feeling on anything much smaller than my FT-60R. It's not like that's a huge radio by any means.

Well I had the model wrong. It is a FT-4X. I mainly got it for the wife and she has small hands. It will be good for a very compact radio for hiking and such (at least I'm gonna try it out with that). It is a 5W model.
The VX-6R is a tri band radio, it has 2M, 220, and 440 options. FT-4 is only 2M, 440.
I love my FT-60 and heard it is going to be discontinued, so I got one before it does. Also will have 3 battery packs for 2 radios. Both radios came with rapid chargers.
I do plan to get aftermarket, whip type antennas. I have one on my old radio and it greatly improves the range.

At least you have your lovely lady!! Glad you are feeling better.

Cold day today, so I wore two pairs of pants, a long sleeved shirt, two fleece jackets, and a polar fleece coat. It started out cold, warmed up a little, then the wind and snow started. Four dog park visits today. Glad to be home. Currently 6 degrees.

I saw a house around the corner from a client last Wednesday that had crime scene tape and lots of law enforcement vehicles. Clients said law enforcement was there for a few days, and yet, nothing was on the news. Today, the news finally said that an 85 year old man was essentially beaten to death, and he was robbed. His car was taken. Two people have been arrested and are being charged with the following charges. They are 29 and 28. They will probably spend the rest of their life in prison. According to the charges, they were probably trying to support a drug habit.
  • First-degree murder
  • Second-degree murder
  • First-degree burglary
  • First-degree assault
  • Crime against an at risk adult - death
  • Aggravated motor vehicle theft
  • Tampering with physical evidence
  • Multiple controlled substance offenses
