Yes! But look at where you are now, Sewing! Patchouli will do the same!
Survived work. Kept the twins home from school today because they had physicals I had to take them to. Love the questions....do you feel safe at home, do you want to hurt yourself, does anyone bully you, do you have guns in your home. Also....do you play over 2 hrs of video games a day, how often do you drink soda pop? They are ordered in advance to say no to the gun stuff. She was surprised at their weight loss from 3 years ago when they came to live with us, and surprised at the lack of video games and doing chores. Nosey, Nosey. They're now good for a year. I put duck and turkey eggs in the incubator. We will see in 28 days. Hatched nine chicken chicks yesterday. Still need to butcher those Cornish. Hopefully son will start them tomorrow when I'm at work. Good thing the kids stayed home from their indoctrination center today, just got an email that they were on lockdown. Because a neighbor was reported with a gun. It was a BB gun. So they go tomorrow for 3 hours to sign yearbooks and then they're done for the school year.

I appreciate your concern, I hadn't expressed our situation on the board here, I'm not disheartened much!

I would love to share the weird bad stuff that has poured out onto our path for the past 3 years but I'd get too specific.
For any of the bad I can find the good. I knew before it started happening, there's a "calm before the storm. I know! It's been calming for some time." (Credence Clearwater Revival reference here).
We've got decent kids. A few have made some questionable choices but they don't stray very far off the path usually.
For all the mistakes and poor life choices we made...our kids are little angels in comparison!
The rest of it is just life, ya know?
:huggs:

Went to doctor this morning.
Had good check up won't have to go back till April 2019.
Just equipment check.
But found out I need to take it in when I have surgery.
Appointment was at 8:30 was home by 9:45 am
Watched grand daughter from 10 am till 4:30 pm.
Came home let Strawberry out, went to bingo.
Won enough that I can go back next week.
If I'm not watching Estelle. (grand daughter).

Yesterday I called the VA eye clinic in the Callahan Eye Clinic in B’ham. I had not received a letter in the past two months confirming my appointment on the 30th. I got some new details… the VA hosp in B’ham has a new parking garage. They gave me the street address. The new process… park in the new garage and then catch a shuttle bus. There are two shuttle buses. One goes to the VA hospital, the other goes to the Callahan eye clinic.

Today in the mail I got my appointment confirmation letter…

Also, I did screen saves of the maps to the VA garage address. There is major interstate construction going on one mile away. It’s 15 miles out of the way but I can get to the exit that leads directly to the VA parking garage without going through the construction.

I printed out three maps large enough so I can see them and get to where I need to be, when I need to be. I just hope they don’t tell me I have to wait until the fall to get surgery. Being half blind sucks, excuse my french… :(

I wish you had a driver. Don't make me come over there. :D

How do drive if you can't see so well?
You guys worry me.
Prayers for you too, @Peanut !

My left eye has a very faint cataract. With my glasses I can see 20/20 out of that eye. My right eye… forget fingers, I couldn’t tell you if there were one or two people standing 10ft away.

I’m good to go driving during day light. At night headlights fracture through the cataract in my right eye, my dominate eye, intensely painful. I avoid driving at night.

The only person who could drive me is my 84yr old dad… Do you want him driving in a major city? I think not…

It’s almost impossible for me to read things up close, because my right eye is dominate… totally different when driving. ;)

Round 1 of today is I noticed that our local supermarket was having their $350 E Vouchers for $300 each and we purchased 2 after DH transferred money into our working account from another pantry stocking budget account. This gives us $100 worth of groceries for free and we will use one voucher for our 2 monthly grocery shop and the other 1 for stocking our pantry up to closer to a 12 month level. Not got far to go on this so we are seeing lots of progress.

DH split the larger firewood logs we put under the house that we didn't get up to last time we cut and handed them to me on the veranda and I put them on the firewood rack. I then swept the front veranda and put the wood chips into the metal container beside the fireplace inside to use.

Having a bit of a break and we will be harvesting some produce from the gardens.

Thank you @Amish Heart for your encouragement and we can see we have come a long way since those days and of course we won't let the B's beat us, a few know who they are in my life.

I have no doubt that @Patchouli will get there too gradually as we did.

Your dad is 84. No, I don't want him to drive around Birmingham, I've been through there, that's a little nightmare.
I don't remember you explaining your vision so specifically before but anyway, at least you can see, you're half blind which sounds really bad, but the other half is not blind, so there ya are. Amazing stuff they can do to fix cataracts.

Congratulations!!!! The first thing you need to do is reorganize the wife's kitchen....and then follow her around observing and making efficiency suggestions.

Sorry LazyL, but i am the wife. But yes I do need to get my whole house in order. And I am going to do that in between getting hubby's medical issues taken care of and helping my elderly parents.LOL

Paid bills.
Put gas in car- done
Went to Wal*Mart for a few things-done
Came home put groceries away.
Visited with old friend.
Watched Estelle this afternoon and evening.
She eats really good, fed herself, couldn't figure out for the life of me how she got baby food in her left ear.
Still haven't figured it out.
She was really active today.
Climbing up down from Granny's lap.
Chased the dog with the walker several times.
Towel napped the kitchen towel while I was trying to fold towels.
Walked by herself several times today.
Had the giggles, swung in the swing several times.
Finally took an hour nap.
Granny needed to rest too.
Got ice pack on my left knee now.
