I took a computer break from Sunday morning until tonight, now. DH's friend is here and has a huge solid black pit bull boy--fixed, who is the most sweet pup I have ever met! He is great with our dogs and goats, very submissive. He is a certified service dog who is getting to be just a regular dog for right now. I went to a very sweet wedding Saturday afternoon, Church twice on Sunday, mostly cooking in between. Made over 100 chocolate chip cookies Sunday and made jambalaya today. Gong to rest soon!

Drowning in humidity!!! Ahhhhh.......its up to 37%! We've already had 2" of rain this year, how much more do we have to suffer through??

:D When temps are over 95 degrees and humidity gets above 80% I describe it as warm, not hot yet, but warm... ;) Humidity below 50%... arctic cold. :D

@Patchouli I have had many career changes in my life and it does you good to have a change of scenery. My best tip is keep doing what you are doing whilst retraining if necessary and get another job before you give up what you are doing. This is how I did it over the years and it worked out well even in global financial crises where management positions disappeared.

Yesterday we started off the morning with DH stain removing some clothing and putting on a load of washing and hanging it on the clothes line. We decided to have a do all the itty bitty time consuming things we have been meaning to do.

We counted both the pumpkin and cucumber seeds that we dried some time ago and I listed the pumpkin seeds as well as listed other items as well in my Ebay shop. I then organised the food storage room which looks a lot better but unfortunately I hurt my back getting buckets off the top shelf of the gorilla shelving so we have decided to put them stacked on the floor in another room.

Out into the gardens and we trench composted some vegetable scraps and came in and did a big load of washing up and folded up 3 loads of clean washing and put it away.

Today I have taken it quite a bit easier and all I have really done is clean under he food buckets with DH moving all the buckets for me. DH has mounted the solar lantern panels on the roof so we can charge them outside now. DH has put arnica cream on my lower back and I had some Panadol earlier and went to bed for an hour or so which is not like me. As I get older I realise the importance of listening to your body and resting when needed. My back can and does completely go out if I keep doing things and not resting which is what I kept doing when I was younger and paid the price.

Tonight's dinner was beef, chick pea, green and butter bean and silver beet fritters.

@snappy1 sorry about old dog not feeling so well. I hope she can get better.

@Sewingcreations15 I can't afford to stop current job so of course I will stay put until I can safely ($$$) move on. I had never expected to be in this position.
We lost our equity, savings, etc. trying to move on from NH's job loss, house sale, surviving day to day.

We have a nephew over for a few days so we are putting him to work. We built a raised bed for the raspberries, so I don't have to bend over so far. I found six hills of wild rhubarb last year and was told that the spring was the best time to transplant so I'm having him move four of them today off the hill that is hard for me to negotiate to a flat spot near the house.

Our old girl probably has kidney failure. Vet's suggestion (without hundreds of dollars of blood tests) is to just get her to eat what we can for as long as she will. I love this vet! We found this dog 6 years ago--vet said she was about 2 years old at the time-- starving and living in the woods. She has had an excellent life since we found her and we will try to keep her happy for the rest of it!

@Patchouli things will get better and I always tend to look at it like this that there is usually someone far worse off than I which tends to pick me up. When we moved here 4 years 4 months and 20 days ago (yes I am counting) we were in a similar situation (my family lawsuit don't ask) and had $200 in our pocket after paying a rental bond and 2 weeks rent and were yet to buy any food. I remember some people (missionaries) at the new ward we moved into asking to come over for dinner and with my head down I said "sorry we cannot afford to feed you at the moment as well as ourselves". I remember the total embarrassment and yes I will say shame, that came over me and my face went a vivid embarrassed red and I didn't know where to look and cried like a baby when I got home. I know what it is like first hand.

I hope and will pray for your family that things will improve and both yourself and husband will get enough work to support your family and more as they have for us gradually.
