Gout can be controlled through diet... without any Big Pharma cr@p involved.
Could you show a picture of the loom? I'm kinda interested in those. It's on my bucket list of clothing abilities.Today was clean up the yard and buy perishables day. Brother came over and helped dad with the lawn and weeds. Mostly just chillin after that. Did a little yarn spinning on the wheel. Decisions were made about the boats. Dad wants to get rid of the fishing boat and the pontoon boat and get a new, smaller toon boat. His feeling is that way my SIL and I will have a fairly new boat after he’s gone.
Tomorrow my bedroom closet gets cleaned out of all the junk that found it’s way in ther—an old telescope, a snowmobile suit that fits no one in the family (besides there’s no snowmobiles here anymore). Once it’s cleaned ou, there’ll be room to store my newest loom purchase.
This is the one I just got. It’s a Schact wolf pup. 18” width and folds up. It was easy to move. Only tough time was putting into the Tahoe. It has wheels so it can be moved easily.Could you show a picture of the loom? I'm kinda interested in those. It's on my bucket list of clothing abilities.

I also have a 25” Leclerc Compact that looks and works just like this one and a 40” Glimakra Ideal. That one is counterbalance and behaves a bit differently.
Thank you Backpacker.Good to hear from you Mo. You and your dad are in my prayers as well. Glad you are able to spend time with him
I have a friend who has really been hit recently with gout. They have no idea what has caused this flare up for him, but he is sure in pain.
and he says the toe pain is really bad... from crystals in the joints or whatever.
Great to see you here and the update. I know you are cherishing the time with your dad, as you should.Hey you all,
Been busy little bees I see.
Worked out in garden this morning.
Pulled up all the dead plants, and there was a lot of them.
Hadn't been home much lately.
Course drought didn't help much either.
Spending time with Dad as much as possible.
At least while I still can.
UPDATE on Dad's condition:
We made the extremely hard decision to call Hospice in for pain management.
I can do a lot of things for him.
But I can't give him the medicine he needs to ease his pain.
Hospice nurses come and check on him several days a week.
Hospice nurse said it could be next week, 3 months or tomorrow.
But with the medicine he wouldn't be in pain.
Today he and I ate catfish baskets for lunch because that's what he wanted.
We drank chocolate, cherry, vanilla cokes to go with our catfish baskets.
Dad told me today that him and mom used to drink those cokes when they were dating.
Back in the day ; 1956.
And they served them at their wedding in December 1956.
I just knew they were a treat Mom and Dad liked.
He called me by Mom's name today too.
While we were enjoying those cokes.
That's all I know.
I hope all that are hurting get well soon.
And that all that need prayers, you have mine.
Whiskey is worse than beer!My brother has gout and his two trigger 'foods' are anything with corn oil in it (which made him eat healthier) and beer (he switched to whiskey). I'm going to mention the cherry juice to him though, may help when he has a flare up.
So let's see, Friday I dropped off my car at dealer for recall, then to Home Depot to get stuff to install the new weather station DH got for his birthday then to dispensary and package store. Saturday was indoor stuff (heat advisory) and took son to lunch (he's getting his wisdom teeth out on Tuesday). Today was grocery shopping then to mom and dad's to visit and help them with chores. Mom has good and bad days with her memory and today wasn't a good day. Her short term memory isn't good, pretty sure it's Alzheimer's, I'm taking her to neuro doc in a month or so to confirm and see what, if anything, we can do. I just hope it won't be long and drawn out like DH's grandfather. But anyways, they were ok so visited for a bit. Came home and put together and installed the weather station, it's pretty cool. Did a little work in garden and just ate dinner. The bottle of wine was taking up too much room in the fridge so I'm taking care of that now, which hopefully will explain me rambling. lol On Sat DH and I are flying to FL to help finish cleaning my inlaws' house to sell then drive back with FIL's truck and boat, which he wanted us to have. Not looking forward to the drive though.
