Thanks, Pearl. Tummy is better today but I'm exhausted.

Woke up sweating and it smells like I didn't take my thyroid meds but I know I did. So I think they aren't working properly. May need a higher dose.

I got up early to try to fix the float for the water water trough (discovered trough empty last night but cows were in the way). Spigot was working but 10+yr old float wasn't. Waited for TSC to open & got a new float and hose for good measure. Grabbed some sweet feed to distract the cows. Dumped the muck out since trough was empty. My brother read the instructions for the new float (I can't find my reading glasses) and got the cotter pins in (I also can't see the holes to line stuff up). I got the clamps on and he went back inside while I flipped the trough, got the old float off and put the new one on. Cows came over to see me while I was tightening the bolts.

I just heard thunder outside so its good that I got the thing fixed when I did. People at tractor supply were very nice. I helped a lady who was looking for a float for her water trough-- she's manually filling it multiple times per day but apparently her calves keep jumping in and playing in it and sitting in it-- splashing all the water out. I suggested a kiddie pool. LOL. Glad my calves never did that.

My brother started his new job yesterday. I put motor cleaner and gas in the CRV he's using (his truck needs to be fixed). It still needs an oil change. He's waiting to find out when he's supposed to go to work today. They haven't posted the info or sent him any texts yet.

Walked first this morning.
Ran to the bank for senior club.
Walked dogs.
And now PEPPER PALOOZA begins!
Will cut jalapenos to make Cowboy Candy tomorrow.
Then chop habaneros (I have about 90) to make Light my fire flaming habanero sauce and Pineapple habanero jelly. 4 recipes of each.
Also roast turkey carcass and veggies to make stock to can tomorrow (along with the jalapenos).
Big day in the kitchen!

And to answer the question about opening jars of dehydrated foods, it's like opening any jar of canned food.

Pepper Palooza?!? That sounds good... I'm beginning to think my single jalapeno pepper plant is the hardiest plant in my humble experimental garden, it seems to have natural protection from bugs and it stands up to the heat, which has been considerable along with the drought. The pepper plant is now doing better than the weed plants, which seem to have taken a hit from the drought, they aren't growing like they were a little while ago. And my fruit trees seem to have stalled out in the growth department, despite my watering 'em every day. This drought sucks, it's making things difficult in the growing department...

P.S. I'm still on the scout for some of that Azomite that Peanut recommends, haven't found any yet in the local stores. I don't like using my card numbers to buy stuff on the Internet, but I may have to bite the bullet and risk it to score some of that Azomite.

Just came in house to get a drink. Yard mowed and garden is down. Loving my zero turn Hope to can tomatoes today as well. Rather not heat house but when on my mind to get ✅. Little more to mow and then weed eat and drag all water hoses back to turn back on late this afternoon late. Spoon feeding husband old dog 2x a day. Fell in hole this morning and I had to brave the dog pen to get him out of hole. 3 other dogs 🐕 in 9/10 acre dog pen with a pond and they have no manners. Gently suggested to husband it is close to decision making and he is avoiding. Labs. Have to go to town and get cat food and more canned dog food

Sitting my butt in a chair, I guess I et too many tomatoes and gout has reared it's ugly head in my left big toe joint.

Grrrrr...................

Did that paint really buff out that nice?😯
Yes it came out great but it has missing paint in a few places. I will paint it after we get all of the work done. It is a mechanical mess but I do have it running. I’m really dreading the wiring. The reason we picked this one to build it was rust free.

The bushel baskets got hung up and the odd ball baskets found places on the shelves. Moved another gorilla cart of tarps row cover and platonic covers for raised beds fond homes and I still have shelf space and floor space.

The porch slated to be the greenhouse is getting close to cleared up. The lawnmower and high wheel cultivator will find a home in the shed. They gray case bottom left will get sorted out saving tools etc but the rest will get tossed since spare parts for 20 year old HP printers are worthless now. The large format plotter of the back wall will get gutted for parts and machine shop fodder.

The other end of the porch is mostly parts for the Comero and misc.

The plans for the greenhouse are to use it for winter growth, seed starting keeping orange tree fig tree and olive tree (don't have it yet). It has a southern exposure and should get good sun over winter.

I will probably start out going ghetto and only patching up holes and drafts to start. It already had windows. I will need a space heater to keep it above freezing in January and February.

Moving my grow station from the front porch will make The Princess happy.

A little bit everyday.

I napped. Got woken up twice. Once by my brother saying something about Namir-- I think he wants me to let him out of his room while he's at work. Then Mom wanted food. Took me a bit to wake myself up enough to get up and cook for her. I need to make a note to get more shrimp scampi from samsclub next time I go. She loves that stuff. She ate the last of the yellow rice so I'll have to make more. Weather has my sinuses in a funk so I'm going to nap again.

I got a grocery delivery early this morning.
Now there are times when you are subjected to depth of stupidity that is just breathtaking, mind boggling and beyond belief.
I don't know if the hiring standards for this grocery chain are just really REALLY low or all the applicants have mirco clots in their brain which impairs their decision making processes.
I'm horrified that this person drives a delivery truck...in traffic. In fact is licenced at all.

I was torn between standing outside and make sure the order was counted and correct as the grocery bags were put down and witnessing a putz putzing....or staying inside and stopping the Landshark from destroying the inside of the solid front door to get to the putz while they were putzing.

I stayed outside to count and subjected myself to the putzing and 100% agreed with Landshark's opinion of the putz.

Hope you fed your wife!!😃
I ordered a pizza on my way home from work. Got delivered just after I got home. Got left overs for the weekend.

Similar day today for my schedule, worked from home till I got the wife settled, then headed to work. I had gotten in several orders of parts I was expecting and had some work to do with those before I handed them out. Bad news today, one of the counties surrounding the lab went into high status for covid. So the lab right away went back to wearing mask inside buildings. On the plus side, this gets reviewed every week and if it goes back to medium risk then we'll go back away from them on Friday.

BTW Pearl and LadyL I fixed chicken fajitas for supper tonight. Wife thought they were good. :ghostly: :dancing:

You are the new chef in the house!!😃👍♥️

We got my Great Grandmother moved home on hospice. She's near comatose but still holding on for some reason. Hospice nurse said since they removed IV fluids that we're looking at 1-5 days with her home. I'm staying nights with her. Watching, waiting and praying.

From no visitors to lots this past few evenings - so have 'conversation hangover' here. Its lashing rain- yay- barrels will be full again. Unfortunately, everything I need to get done is outdoors, so either I clean or catch up on college reading! Made lasagne and discovered the world of Amazon's grocery subscription service. Spent the morning making lists and converting currency to see what is worth buying. I can get it sent to an address in Northern Ireland, so no shipping or revenue costs.

Already walked and getting ready to feed dogs.
Will make Pineapple Habanero jelly first and then Candied jalapenos.
Next, maybe roast the turkey carcass for broth.
Didn't get as far yesterday as I hoped. Those habaneros were a lot to deal with. I kept losing my breath when close to them. I did get the hot sauce made (14 half pints) and the habaneros prepped and de-seeded for today's jelly.
Will harvest okra and peppers later today.
Then rest and keep hands away from eyes!

Prayers for you all ABR

Slept in a little then made us some breakfast, tomato sandwiches. Those things are soooo good. Cleaned up everything. Bagged up 4 more gallons of tomatos to freeze and have some set aside to slice for the dehyrater. Helped wife get a shower. Gonna go mow this afternoon and evening. Then pick more maters and cukes

This morning I harvested green beans and celery, the wife wants to freeze the green beans so I need to gather up some ice for that process. Half of the celery is in the dehydrator now. If the wife is up to it we will play in the dirt at the kitchen table this afternoon, I have to replant some lettuce and I thought it would be fund to do it together in the heat of the day. I just realized I need to get my fall garden plants started... Where does the time go?

Well I’m back in New Jersey. Took us six hours to get home. Traffic wasn’t bad until we got within 25 miles of here. I swear one day I’m going to change that “welcome to New Jersey” sign to “welcome to garbage gardens”

Came home with some produce from my brother. Big head of endive, a zucchini that looks like it could be in a cartoon as a club it’s so big (it’s going to be zucchini bread), cucumbers to make pickles, cabbage. I also brought home a peck and a half of green beans. Guess I’ll be canning.

Thank y'all for all of the prayers and well-wishes. My Great Grandmother passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, a short time ago. She knew she was home to the land she's lived on for the past 79 years. She was 98 years old and lived to see 6 great great grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed, but is now at peace.

Posted last night about given a 35 minute notice to come to a meeting for the twins, but that's when the forum was glitched and am seeing half a message now.
But that's what child services said, and we live 25 min away. So no babysitter for little granddaughter, no pulmunary therapy for husband. Sat in a 2 hr family meeting where the banana sign was with therapists and the twins, then left to get their stuff from the place that they were put, and home. Too late to cook dinner, the second night running. So pizza. Twins grabbed a piece, took it upstairs with their phones to their rooms, and viola! That's what they do. Grandaughter wants to get her license today, and asked the boyfriend to drive her. She came down once last night to say she can't find some papers to take in her messy room. Oh well. Then she wants to spend the day with the boyfriend, and come home tonight sometimes. Wondering if grandson is going to work? No clue.
Sorry you're going through this Amish Heart.
