Got the outside Christmas lights up. With lots of help from two barn cats (ha). They climb the step stool, bat at the strings of lights, I think they found it entertaining. An amish neighbor that we keep a freezer for came by with some church cookies and a gift certificate to the local restaurant. Such a nice lady.

Got my new phone set up but not for calling, gonna use my old phone for that. I wanted this new phone for it's 3 cameras.

It does exactly what I wanted. I can take close up photos of plants that show fine details. I can see the stamens in these tiny catnip blooms.

Would you believe it? Catnip is still blooming on my porch. Everything else died from temps in the 20's.

That's a clear picture, Peanut! We're still dealing with high winds here, and I need to cover the fruit trees & blackberry vine tonight, since the forecast low temp will hit 27* F... and supposedly the winds won't let up till 2300 hours, so I guess I'm staying up late tonight. Goldurned wind is gusting to 30 knots, and I don't want the plastic sheets I use as tree covers to get torn to shreds, nor do I want the young fruit trees damaged. The blackberry vine isn't such an issue, as it's low to the ground. Meh, guess I'll watch movies and wait for the wind to die down, I can always throw the sheets over the trees & vine while wearing my headlamp. Just cracked my first beer, didn't do it earlier because I decided to read a Western novel instead, and I read while lying down on my bed... not a good position for beer drinking, lol. ;)

Wife has a head cold and I alternate between snotty, and clear. Wearing out the vitamins and other stuff. I feel pretty good, but she is just wore out.
Back to work this morning, got a bunch of stuff done, then left at 3 for a visit with my pulmanary Dr. Got a good report from him and don't have to go back for a year if I don't have any problems. Glad to hear that.
Did a little Christmas shopping for the wife while I was out and ran into the girl my neighbors kid married. Hadn't saw her since they had their baby. They are all doing good. They are mid 20's but a great conservative couple.

Yesterday, I laid out all the stuff I've been making and stuffing in my closet for the last few months. Today, I boxed up 24 Christmas boxes with that stuff. Tomorrow, I'll label the boxes and drag then to the post office. I had body powder, bar and whipped soaps, about 10 different kinds of salves, lip balm, vanilla and cinnamon extracts and sugars, homegrown pepper salts and extracts. I made a ghost pepper extract for the younger women to use as an eye wash for perps. It was quite a bit but I wasn't doing well the biggest part of the year so I didn't do nearly what I've done in the past. And I ran about 4 hours worth of errands. Sitting here and doing absolutely nothing now.

Forensics crime scenes anthrolopgy
Am I correct in understanding that is a list?

Forensics, crime scenes, anthrolopgy

Otherwise that sounds like an extreme course.

When I was in college I learned that the only people that can understand a course description are those that have already taken the course. Completely correct but totally useless. :confused2:

I made it to the PO today. I was there before they opened and was 3-4 in line - still not too bad of a wait and glad to have the packages out of the dining room and on their way. Got cards sent out also. We've only received 1 card so far this year. I realize we are pretty strange and antisocial, but I think it's a bit unusual.

We only got ONE card so far also!! We are strange and antisocial too, 😃😉, maybe something is going on that we don't know about!! Just because we avoid others we don't deserve cards?! Funny, the one we got is from people we barely know! So I'm guessing if they knew us better they wouldn't have sent us "the one"!

It's the next step course toward the ultimate goal.
I have taken the largest part of the class.
This is mainly the lab part.
Hopefully after this no more field work(not that I work actively in this field any longer).
Only need 20 hours for graduation.
Then will be taking "fun" class or two to rest my brain.
Maybe Machine Knitting because I am still struggling with it.
Also another cooking class also a fun class.
Then will be taking Forensic Accounting.
And I can work in this field.

@MoBookworm1957 Hiya there! I was thinking about you recently. I saw a blow up grinch in a yard and thought, "I wonder how many times you've seen grinch this month." 🤔 Hope you are well and all the grands are behaving themselves 💕
Hey LadyLocust,
Have only seen 1 Grinch so far.
Have received 1 Christmas card so far.
But have received 3 seed catalogs so far for next years garden.
Been trying to stay busy since Dad has passed away.
The classes makes me think about something besides missing my Dad.
Started my finals this week.
Will be done the week before Christmas hopefully.

It's 4:00AM again. despite my best efforts to get drunk, I had 2 big pops of tequila, a bowl full of herbs and zonked out. I have a headache, but I slept
so good it was worth it!

Yeah, headache on a cup of booze...I'm officially old! I'm going back to scotch and whiskey. at least I don't have to screw with salt and lime to enjoy it.

As for my day...I'm putting new grips on my 45, cleaning the rust off my first hunting knife and putting a pound of ham chunks on the grill with my mix of Dukes BBQ and horseradish and slow baking that stuff for pork sliders for lunch.

I have lots of goats if you need some more ideas....hope she gets better
What kind of goat? How old?
This is what I do when ours are not feeling well:
check eyelids , if pale deworm
check temp if high heavy duty antibiotic ( Nuflor from vet or LA200 from feed store)
if bloated : baking soda, molasses and electrolyte
if diareah and no pale eyelids probably coccidia : 5 days of Corrid
NO GRAIN for any of the above, it's not good for them , no alfalfa either, just hay and water
Oh yeah, Red Cell for horses helps, plus vitamin B complex shot ( depends on weight)

Can't think of anything else right now , send me a message if you have any questions
Love this forum for reasons like this. Also makes me laugh we take care of our animals better then ourselves 🤣 y'all have a beautiful day.

not raining today again but more , way more rain coming tomorrow. I guess we had 2 days break from it
I think we have to drop son's car off at the shop to get oil changed and brakes checked today , plus get sawdust at the mill if they are cutting the right wood

We've only received 1 card so far this year.
We have gotten 2. I only sent out about 25 and no cards go with the 75 banana breads, still I thought it would be more. Maybe folks are just getting a late start.

Will walk first.
Drop off jeep to mechanic who wants to check something.
I have an therapy evaluation for my rotator cuff. They are supposed to show me some exercises I can do at home.
Come home and walk dogs.
Clean soles of shoes I bought recently so I can return them. Sigh Not enough support for as much walking as I do.
Make the last of the cookie dough. Yay! I'm tired of cookies! These will be white chocolate maple hickory nut cookies.

Watering the trees & plants after routine morning chores... it never rained or snowed last night, so the watering has to be done. Finally received an email from the gas company, my bill this month will only be $67, which isn't bad. I don't run the heater at night, I just warm the house up to 70* F or so, then cut off the heater... same goes for mornings. I have a value pack of thick pork chops to cook today, still debating whether to use the oven or the BBQ... it's warm enough to cook outside, the weather guessers got it wrong again last night, pffffft. Accurate weather forecasting seems to have gone the way of the dinosaur...

Otherwise, I'll probably just putter around the property today, maybe check the mail later... the cluster mailboxes are about a mile away, out on the highway. Locking metal boxes, so security isn't really an issue. If a package arrives and it's too large to place in the larger allotted box (key left in your mailbox), they leave a notice slip. Meh, the system works okay, but postal service here is still the worst I've seen anywhere, lol. Delivery is farmed out here in the boondocks, we don't have the usual postal jeeps or trucks... many folks use FedEx or UPS whenever they ship stuff, even 'Brown' is more reliable, which doesn't say much for the USPS. 😒

I think I invented ultra thick bacon! Same taste, three times as thick, 1/4 the cost!
I will definitely try that soon!

effort and time to sit and write them out
I now have hand tremors when I write, so it is really difficult to do many.

That's what we do and helps keep electric bill down a little.

Thank you..we ended up putting her down. She was suffering and not improving with the vets drugs or the home care me n the other friend neighbor were providing. Unfortunately, this was a case where my friends really should have had the vet out b4 they went on their trip..but sometimes not the best decisions are made n it turned into a complete poop show.
She was a very sweet nubian around 3 or 4 years old.
...what a bummer..

Here, there aren't any boxed cheaper cards available; only individual gimmicky ones at $5-6 per. Add the cost of postage and it's a big nope for most people.

Also, the younger generations haven't had Christmas traditions instilled in them, by example, or otherwise. Online cards are even lacking this year.

Got my sore arm pounced on my cats a few times, rammed shoulder into doorframe when stumbling, took mom and brother to doctor appointments at different times in the same day, dealt with dishonest ebay seller who changed listing after purchase & then changed it again after I complained that product didn't work. Contacted Honda dealership bc the product was honda navigation dvd & they confirmed its a bad product & said they will write a letter for me to show to ebay to confirm it so I can get a refund. Got ahold of AC repair guy and am waiting for callback.

Got a nice cushy neck pillow that I use to prop up my arm at night.

Fed kitties and am relaxing for a bit. Mom told me not to clean bc she doesn't want me to make my arm worse. But I really need to get something done.

Arm is still aching all the way down to wrist but hopefully it will stop being a pain soon.

Dug up the apple tree and did an inventory of the trees I have available to transplant.

I will likely keep some of the persimmons in the nursery but I have a lot of digging ahead of me.

I will be moving and repotting some plants in the greenhouse to keep things going.
