went shopping today, never drove over 50 because of my brakes ( they work but pulling REALLY hard to the right if I go any faster than 30)
Walmart in nearest town didn't want to drive further to the Aldi...it was practically deserted. Produce looked crappy , no Mozerella cheese blocks for pizza, was going to get pork ribs for New years eve but they cost over $20 for a relatively small pack so I got a pork loin for roast instead
It did warm up a little today but son's water is still mostly frozen.
If it's pulling to the right, the problem is on the left!😉

It's hot here today (1pm in Australia) and we are trying to keep cool. My husband and eldest son have gone to the city centre 1hr away to do a bunch of jobs. Animal feed, hardware shop, groceries, fuel etc.

I have been working on my blog behind the scenes and jotting down post ideas for the future and catching on on computer stuff. The kids are relaxing and watching movies. When the boys come home we will go for a swim in the river at the end of our driveway and then once the sun begins to lower and it cools down a bit we will all get stuck into outside jobs. The goats need drenching, my new seedlings need watering again and we are in the process of putting up some fences in the garden. It doesn't get dark until about 8pm at the moment so we make the most of the cooler temperatures.

I'm looking at those with snow with jealousy! Though I'm sure it's not all fun, it looks lovely from a distance.

I had trouble sleeping due to arm/shoulder pain. Watched Death In Paradise last night until my internet stopped working. Finally got some sleep. Tried to play on the internet but it keeps losing signal over and over every 30seconds to 2 minutes. Had 3 complete signal losses in 5min. I'm going to have to check the dish.
But I made myself go out and hook up the pipes for the hose bib and get the insulation wrap on the pipe. Waited a few hours and turned the shutoff on- no water. Not sure if there is some kind of blockage or if the faucet was attached to outside water somehow and was still running bc the shutoffs are blown. So, I'm going to replace those shutoffs and run some pex to them.

magus, I hope you can get things sorted. What kind of pex fittings did you have? plastic or brass?

Still waiting to hear back from Delta on the warranty on the cartridge for the shower.

Not always, it did this before about half a year ago, and they replaced the right caliper because it was sticking. I think maybe now the left is not working at all maybe so it only works on the right. It has never been replaced and I have close to 150k miles on the Yukon

Today I am going to attempt laundry. It should be warming up enough ( close to 50) to put the laundry connection back on
Plus clean some, friends coming for dinner tomorrow

Putting on my best pajamas, and going up to walmart :( . They MIGHT have some cat food for the carport cats. It they don't , I'll drive to Family Farm and Home and get some more barn cat food. Maybe go to the market next door and get a fancy beer for News Eve. Later, Grill the ham for our holiday dinner on Friday.

Wow, your BEST pajamas?! Gettin' all fancy for Walmart are you??😉😃

Looks like I'll be making a store run to stock up on some things... but it's a nice day for it. I won't be wearing pajamas---I don't own any, since I sleep naked, lol---but I'll go in "sartorial splendor" as always (boots, baggy blue jeans & Henley shirt), just in case I meet the "woman of my dreams" in the cat food aisle! I sure would hate to blow an opportunity by wearing pajamas, if I had any, lol. ;)

P.S. Primary reason for shopping is to buy more BEER, but since I'm going anyway, I'll pick up more paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, cat food, cracked corn for the wild birds (cheaper than birdseed), etc.

Scratching my head.

Wife expressed her desire that I rent a house so all of our children and Gkids can come stay with us and celebrate our milestone wedding anniversary. This will be the first time we have all have been together for years.

The last six months I've been web searching for a central location and a date that suits all. Today was the culmination of my efforts. The agreed upon primary date is still available with the AirBNB place. I'm typing as fast as my two fingers and thumb can type. I'm at the payment portion when the wife comes into my den. "Yes?" She told me a package for me was just dropped off. I thanked her as turn back to the computer screen. I'm sure this site has a timeout feature and...wife is still standing with misty eyes. "Something else?" She's going into town to get some groceries and stop at a girl friends house. "OK. What's wrong?" She's fighting back tears and tells me it's just a bunch of things and leaves the room. The idiot I am (I'm a forcused single goal oriented type) I finished entering the payment information and press CONFIRM. Then I go upstairs to find out what is wrong. In that less then a minute it took to enter my payment info the wife has left. She's never that fast, even when she's late. Figuring I step into something again...

Just went up to the build site top of the mountain to see how the crew was doing. Walls are almost up! Guys were having their lunch which put a huge smile on my face and gave me a good laugh. They took a small section of steel beam that was left over and made a grill out of it and was literally cooking up authentic Carne Asada with refried beans and rice and were toasting tortillas on a rock. They had it going on! I gave them a few loads of firewood the last couple of days and cut enough for them to get a few more loads at the end of the day so I HAD to eat one of their I-Beam Steel cooked pork chops as they would not take no for an answer. Treat your crew good and you get good construction. ;)

Going to pick up the truck from the shop in an hour or so I hope and then will go exploring with the wife some since I have not been anywhere local since we bought the land as I've done nothing but work when here the last 2 years.

Did get my workout routine in the last 6 days though having burned 3 25' burn piles and cleaned up another 2 acres which we decided is where part of our cow pasture will be. 4 more acres to clean up and then get good grass and clover going and we can build the fence for our few cows we will have.

Ugh. Pajama shoppers. Not you, Dade!
People used to dress up when they went shopping because it was a big deal.
Little granddaughter and I going bin shopping today.
Shoot, if he's going to Walmart, be glad he's got pants on! I saw a Gen Z dude wearing a dress in Walmart a little while back...

I can't wear pajamas to walmart :)

1: A trip into Wallyworld calls for a complete load-out.

2: I don't own pajamas, if the occasion requires something I have sweat pants and shirts.

Walked first, this morning.
Went to doctor for regular appt. They were very busy!
Went to therapy and got there at noon because of doc. They close for lunch, so I cancelled til Tuesday.
Came home and walked dogs.
Still need to make oatmeal for DH's breakfasts.
That is about it for my big day.

@The Lazy L , I hope all is well!

Got my daughter's car to O'Reilly's to get the code scanned. There wasn't a code for the cruise control, but there is an O2 sensor code and an ECM code that seem to be related. Wonder what this is going to cost me...
Would you like me to have the extended warranty people contact you :(

The Princess was concerned about the new tenant being new to the area so we took him on a driving tour of the area today. It went well and @ThePrincess is happy.

On another note I had been looking for a replacement our old F150 that about 25% washing machine (literally. @Firepolice271 used an old washing machine to patch up the body work about 3 years ago to keep it on the road). He was concerned the bed would not be avle to handle hauling the drywall we need dor the remodel place.

I spotted a nice looking F150 XLT 2015 at the local used car dealer that had just come in a few days ago so I stopped in and asked about it. I got call this evening that was ready to sell so my brother joined me to check it out. He is convinced it was garage kept and had never been off road or ever used as a truck.

I shook hands with the dealer and will be giving him hand money tomorrow! That is a To- Do list item off my plate.

Aside
In some sense it could be sad that such a nice truck should join our family. We use pickups to haul dirt gravel stone lumber manure etc. Never washed any of our trucks in 30 some years.

Submitted my plan for the 5 BDA systems. We'll see what happens from here. Once I totaled up everything I was shocked at how much it was. Far and away biggest project I've tried to put together. OTOH it may get shot down. Who knows
Stopped by the car wash on the way home to try and ditch some of the road salt.

@Mountain trapper that's an awesome set up with the smoker. Such a great idea, I'll have to add that to the list especially as no permits needed for buildings under 200 ft. Sorry to hear about your generator. We had problems with ours too when it got too cold. We've got 4 of them though, as we are still mostly on generator power until we can finish setting up the large solar panels.

Done dealing with the nutter from ebay and now I just need to adjust my shop policies AGAIN to reflect the possibilities of dealing with this sh*t again! I hate doing this but every time I have to deal with a whack-a-doodle I lose money.

Spent more time on the phone than training my new pup. A wasted day for sure. She has the house breaking down at least. I had to bring one of her toys upstairs to our bed to keep her from going turd hunting in the cat box at night.

Made pizza for dinner. We have been eating holiday leftovers all week so I thought a change would be nice.

While working on the road today my tractor sprung a hydraulic leak. Had to go to town and pick up a 5 gallon bucket of hydraulic oil. I managed to get my Jeep out, barely. Started snowing on my way home from town.

When bin shopping with little granddaughter. Went to visit my favorite cousin after lunch. I haven't seen her in a week, and lots to catch up with. She hardly leaves the house any more, taking care of her husband. Stopped in at the amish discount grocery afterwards and came home with some more for storage.

The wife has warn 2 bare spots on the floor in the kitchen, one in front of the stove the other in front of the fridge... Last night after she went to bed I cleaned and sanded them both, then I put the first layer of new stain down. Tonight I will try to finish up the stain and then for New Years I can apply the clear coat.. The stuff is water based, she couldn't stay in the house if we had used oil based stains.. I prefer the oil based stuff because it is more durable, but the wife can't handle the odor...

She is sick again this morning, so I will not be going for the walk in the woods I had planned.

Errands in the bigger town after animal chores this morning. Husband needs some RX pickup, needs some blood work done, and wants me to get his annual bottle of very good scotch for New Year's eve. His Christmas present is being delivered between noon and five today, a lift chair. He found one that not only lifts you out, but can recline in any way. Also heats and massages. Now to figure out where to put his usual recliner. No room for both. I'll be picking up more chicken feed in our town and also stopping in at our thrift store here, and the post office.

Staying at my mom's for a while to help her out after her knee replacement surgery. There are so many benefits to not commuting anymore, I simply brought my work laptop along. There will be plenty of time to keep up my work hours, she doesn't need constant nursing, just someone to make sure she doesn't fall and to carry stuff because she has to use a walker for a while. When I had to drive to an office I would have had to burn up sick leave to just sit here.
