What am I doing today? Shaking my head in wonderment.

We are in the process of updating our wills. I met with the attorney to iron out the details. Purposely scheduling the signing a month out (tomorrow) to give the wife time to adjust her scheduling if needed. Last week I reminded the wife of the appointment. She said it’s difficult because she had gone ahead and scheduled others things for that day too.

Well we are now both sick with the crud. When I told the wife I‘m rescheduling the attorney meeting I asked would the last Thursday of this month suit her? Yes I am told. I call the attorney, reschedule for the last Thursday of the month. Handed the wife my note with the new time and date. She looked at the note, oh I can’t that day, I promised a friend I’d take them to the doctor on that day. I say I’m sorry but your friend will have to have someone else take them.

That sounds familiar! This is why I only schedule appointments for myself, and have my wife schedule any appointments that we both need to attend together. I am rarely apprised of these appointments more than an hour or two ahead of time. But I'm flexible, and try to adapt.

Well that lasted two months. SIL Birthday party was on the first Saturday. I was told I was rude because I was going to go to a stupid shooting thing instead of SIL party. No it’s rude of the inlaws and wife, if they really wanted me there they would have asked me. I placed pretty good at the competition

Some people think they need to control everything and every one. And some people really do control a lot of people and events, because others let them have their way. If they REALLY want you there, they will start considering you and your one scheduled event each month, not just think they can manipulate into giving up your one event each month.

Yard work today, I need to clear away some of those taller weeds around the birdbaths & feeders, otherwise the cats will use them as concealment and ambush unsuspecting birds. I need to vacuum the house too, I've been putting off that task for too long and it needs to be done. I don't particularly enjoy either task, but that's why it's called "work" and not "fun." Maybe a few cold beers will put me in the mood to tackle the job(s).

Well..still waiting on parts that they blew up last friday..yesterday n today I've been chatting n catching up with a few co workers. Were all wondering if anyone knows what's going on.
Were all in limbo, last fri we get the calls scrambling to put together 2 crews for starting friday night n all day sat, everyones ready to go..then they blew up a drive system a few hours after the calls , gah!
Now were all waiting again. Best thing i can do is just be ready to go.
Last few days about another 7 inches of snow fell.
I'm really really done with the cold n snow. It's been a long winter here. Usually by march it's gone. I could have had my greenhouse up.

Snow is dying down, which is good. When does spring come again? Gearing up for a Cannonball Run 'esque cross country jaunt to grab my cats and some of the ex's belongings from my SIL's house that she just left. Planning on going Utah to Virginia and back in 4 days (Thurs - Sun), we'll see if it doesn't creep into 5. I missed the cats so much when they left, and I'm so glad I can grab them and keep them out of the shelter. Fortunately my youngest son is going to join me on this trip so I'll have a great co-pilot and I foresee copious amounts of caffeine in my future!

Started doing sheep hoofs yesterday, what a nightmare..the goats just jump on the milkstand and eat, while I do the hoofs. The sheep, husband has to make them lie on the ground and practically sit on them for me to trim the hoofs.

try getting husband or you or whoever to rig you up a cheap version of a tipping hoof table. saves time and wear and tear on both critters and you in long run.

Yes it is cold and dreary. I went to feed a cat this morning and the ground was lightly wet from a light snow. It is the time of year where I take my warmer jacket and am prepared for whatever weather conditions might come during the day.
I normally take two dogs to the park on Tuesdays, and one of the owners texted and suggested that it was nasty enough out that it would be okay for all of us to stay home. I agreed. There wasn't a lot of wind, just enough of a breeze to make me feel cold and uncomfortable. It has been humid enough here lately that what are normal temperatures now feel cooler. I haven't left the house since going out to feed the cat and will be home for the rest of the day.

I do not wear pj's in public. For Dr. Suess day at school during my practicum, I was marked down for not participating. When people are in their pjs, they act like they are in their pjs regardless of age - not something I want to be part of. I took the hit for getting dressed in the morning. Still don't like seeing pjs in public.

Went to visit mom today, then for husband's allergy shots. Out to lunch and then to the docs. Picked up my RX's and then to a parent teacher conference for little granddaughter. Her teacher said she tested in the 100 percentile in reading in the state for her grade, something he's never seen. Got an email from the Child Services lady asking us to meet with a couple in her office on Monday evening. They are thinking of allowing the twins to live with them till they turn 18 (in 96 days). We are supposed to discuss conditions, so although I'm whooping with glee, I'm not sure what the conditions would be. These people live in town and the twins are friends with their oldest son. They originally told them they could rent their loft for $100 a month. So our time might be ending soon!

On Sunday Mom told me she wanted me to go to Samsclub on Monday. She forgot she had a doctor's appointment. I had it on my virtual calendar but the app crashed and won't open so I didn't remember- plus she gave me other directions. Told me when I got home that she'd missed her appointment. D'oh.

Sonya, sounds like sheep can be difficult. I remember seeing a video of someone trying to catch a sheep and the sheep jumped in the air, kicked off the wall and knocked the person down. I've also seen a video and a gif of a sheep backing up and then running at a guy who was fishing, ramming him from behind and knocking him in the water. Never had sheep but they sound like a handful. Had goats and loved them. Mischievous sometimes but cuddly and amusing. I had a lot of fun playing with them as a kid.

Went to Walmart to get Mom's RXs and some more food. Several of the freezers had been out that had stuff she liked. Was out about a week but they are fixed and they had what mom wanted. Picked up some sleeves for my paint roller so I can paint at my friend's house. Also got a cheap brush for the corners and edges. He already has the paint so I just need to bring a drop cloth and tape over to paint. Hung out with him for a little bit before going to the store. I also brought him some arthritis cream.

Have a small box of felted pictures and knitting ready for a shop to sell, so going to drop them off, and a box to the charity shop and recycling centre.
Have classes this afternoon, a talk on writing for film and a lot of editing for the second last draft of my portfolio.
Sausages are cooked for dinner; have tomorrow nights ready to go in the slow cooker, (meatballs in a homemade tomato sauce, with the last of my courgettes from the freezer )and all my washing is done. Tidied my workroom- sort of- and made plans for the materials I've been collecting. Looking forward to the summer when I can get stuck into some mixed media.
And yes @LadyLocust the moon was stunning last night!

After flying into Vegas late on the 6th and being at work before 5AM on the 7th, I went back to the hotel and crashed. I fell asleep around 3 in the afternoon and didn't wake up til around 1:30AM. So, it's now 10 til 3 and I'm wide awake, about to get into the shower. I've got to be at work before 5AM all week. There won't be any fun in Vegas for me...

Yes sheep are more difficult thankfully we have hair sheep so sheering isn't necessary. We only have a few ( 8 breeding ewes) and thankfully their hoofs don't grow anywhere near as fast as the goats, so we only need to sheep hoofs every half year or so. The lambs usually go the meat processor before I do hoofs.

But adult rams are very scary. They do like to knock you over from behind, and ram you in the legs. So we only keep one around long enough to get the ewes pregnant and sell him after. Everyone around here has Katahdins so there is no problem getting a new one

Went shopping yesterday and took puppy for a walk along the river in town. It was a nice day out

Today it's freezing, just made a fire in the stove for the first time in days.
Not sure what I am going to do today other than take care of the animals Shopping done cleaning done laundry done. Husband plowed up the garden a few days ago, but we are supposed to get a few days of cold, so I am not planting anything yet.

Big cleaning job! Kind of a rainy cool day so hopefully I can get some of my own house cleaning done later! Got my schedule worked around so I can at least have one day a week off! I will somehow make it so I have two days off!!

Town run, and the yard work I didn't do yesterday after winds picked up and dust was swirling everywhere... I'll be glad when these windy days die down. Friday is still looking good for a bike ride, we'll see how it shapes up... but today, I'll be going back to the salt mines, lol. Where are all the programmable AI robots to do this drudge work? If I had more money, I'd buy one robot to do everyday chores and another to pull home rehab work... thing would be a painting fool, the Dutch Masters would have NOTHING on it, lol. Seriously, whoever invents home rehab bots will be an overnight billionaire...

Stilling shaking my head in wonderment.

Next week we are staying with the MIL so the primary 24x7 SIL caregiver can take four days off. This has been planned for two months.

This morning the wife is talking about her plans for next week. None of these plans allow for us being at her mothers. “Isn‘t next week we’re staying at your mom’s?” “Oh no those plans got canceled”. They got canceled FIVE DAYS ago! Wife says perhaps she should have told me sooner. Don’t you think?
