My kid came over after school and informed me that we have an event tonight - she's being inducted into the National Honor Society. I'm not sure why she waited until just now to inform me that she got in! That's kind of a big deal. So to be presentable at the ceremony, I cut my beard off and hopped into the shower.

I'm super proud of her. Most of her cousins were in the NHS too and I'm so glad she has joined them.

Glancing in their rooms, it would take many, many truckloads. It would take me a ton of work getting all that crap downstairs. I think a couple days of hard work.
Open the window and toss out the clothes and unbreakable items that way you wont have to carry that stuff down stairs. Just a thought. :ghostly:

Please give her my congratulations, and to you also!

Went to a review class on trading to see what's new in strategies and techniques. The wife is off work for a few weeks while recovering from her shoulder surgery. So it was the perfect time to drive to the other end of town (one hour each way) for the in-person class. Which always seem to be in the middle of the day in the middle of the week - an inconvenient time if one normally has to go to work.

Not a good day, lets just leave it at that ( animals are ok, nobody is sick)

So I had a few shots of vodka AND some pot and watching an old German movie on youtube ( translated : the treasure of silver lake). It's a German western by Karl May ( a very popular and long dead writer) . Funny watching this after having been to some real Native American reservations and seeing this French guy pretending to be one . But I was totally in love with him as a kid hahaha!

Had fieldwork today so a lot of driving. Good weather, lots of sunshine. Made me wish I was on my bike. Had three deer run out in front of me when I was going through the national forest area, a little unusual for that time of day.
Crazy person incident: I was at a wellhouse in a mobile home park, and had to park my work truck off to the side to not block the access drive. This put it somewhat in front of a trailer, but still many feet away from both the trailer and the car parked by the trailer. Was standing by the truck talking to the guy I had to meet, when a young guy came out of the trailer with a pitbull on a leash and confronted us about parking there. We were polite and said we were leaving soon. He went back in and slammed the door about ten times then started knocking on the front window. Then he opened the window and started hollering about how we needed to leave.
I have no filter and a very short fuse these days and my give a damn is busted, and I wanted to stand my ground and tell him to bring it, I'm not scared of a punk. Thankfully I was able to stifle the impulse and not do that. And the guy I was working with is a very level headed good soul so we agreed to finish our conversation at the other site we have to visit next week, got in our trucks, and left. But I really wanted to show the punk what a cranky old woman can do when you act like an idiot.
At least the angry kept me awake on the way back, the sun was pouring into the truck cab making it all warm and cozy and sleepy. Thought it would be great to get the bike out when I got home, but the bridge was closed in town and the traffic backed up so I couldn't get to the secretary of state to get the title and plate done. I ended up going out the other way to stop at the tire guy's place and get my truck tires rotated, so at least that's done and I got some jawing time with one of my favorite red-necks. Of course nothing is made to last anymore, and the silly little shiny plastic bits they put over the lug nuts to make them look pretty broke down and the lug nuts are all rusty and need to be replaced. He ordered some for me so I can pick those up next time I go that way.
I guess it was just a Monday for the whole of this Tuesday.

Oh hey Clem....they haven't moved and just left their junk...her prom dress is here, all his guitars are here. And all their clothes. Tons of clothes.
It's time for a chat and or notice to vacate. Tape a note on their doors asking for their plan of action because yours kicks in Monday morning if you don't hear from them.
I wonder why the new parents are dragging their feet about getting the grandson out of the barn he has been suffering in.

I'd love to post a note to the door, but a photo would be taken of it, and mental abuse would be reported to their therapist, then to child services. They are not 18 for another 75 days. Anything said or done at the moment would be reported. They are still not home, and probably won't be for hours, even though school is tomorrow. Have no clue where they are. But when I do catch a glimpse of them, I'll ask them when they are moving out. I'd love to throw their stuff out but I'm sure we'd be reported for that. I was worried that if the judge said no, then they would wait a couple of weeks, then file another faked abuse charge. They could still do that, even though they're clear to go but haven't left yet.

They may be up to something TOGETHER! I'd be on the phone with SOMEONE tomorrow morning, finding out what is happening!!

I always tell her, I only have to shoot one of them. The rest will get the message...😁
Spike, I have to tell you, I had an OUTSTANDING Dad. He and Mom were married forever, but you remind me of him!! Dad was always supportive of me, proud of me, and THERE for me!! You are the dad your daughter will brag about and enjoy the memories you two made together!! You are a good man!! I am older than you, but as a daughter of a GREAT MAN, THANK YOU, your girl shines in your light!!

Packed away 100 eggs that finished freeze drying today. My gang of 13 chickens are producing 10 to 12 eggs a day so I better reasearch some more egg recipies.

Late last night I put a serpentine belt on the teenagers car...not a fun job but good practice for me since I haven't had dirty fingernails and bloody knuckles in a while. Plus the car keeps the kid working for money if he wants to pay insurance, put gas in it and take the girl friend out. And he's living someplace else now......so whaterver it takes.

JUST SHARING MY JOY!!!!
They can move out and in with the unsuspecting family. The judge told the DCF officer to make sure all the paperwork is done so the new family can get all the freebies like the EBT and all that, and to make sure they get free 4 yr college, too, since they were originally foster care before we got them. Their jaw dropped when they heard that we never received payment for anything for them.
So I haven't seen them yet. Maybe they went back to finish the last hour of school after lunch. I do anticipate them shoveling out the garbage that they want to move from upstairs, and probably leaving the rest for me. Then we change the locks. Grandson announced to the judge that he doesn't want to get anything for college because he is going to be a tattoo artist and is working on his portfolio. I wish them both all the luck in the world. Just not with us.
Hallelujah! What a relief! Congratulations!

My kids have been hearing concerns about flooding this spring - record snowfall here in UT has to go somewhere when it melts, and offered their help if I felt like we needed to prepare for it. We're fortunate to be fairly high in elevation on a decently sloped hill so the worst of it ought to pass us by, but our city has set up a fill your own sandbag station where the bags and sand are free, you just need to fill them and haul them away. So we'll go fill a couple dozen bags to have on hand if water encroaches on our basement window wells and they can hold down the edges of the hoophouse plastic after the danger of flooding is past :)
Too bad our country is not more set up for capturing more water before it goes to the ocean.

Fortunately they're really good about capturing water around here - lots of reservoirs and water management districts that collect the water and divvy it out to those who own water shares (note to self, pay the renewal on the water shares!). This year we've gotten the most snow since they've started keeping track and there's worries that folks along the waterways will get flooded out. My yard is so wet the dogs are tearing it up, but I've been wanting to sew clover in it so I'm taking it as a silver lining :)

Hubby and I are working together today 🙄! Extras for two older ladies. Turning mattresses, moving plants out of garages, fixing a dog door, and a big outdoor fountain! There will be more assorted things I'm sure. These are two ladies who are neighbors and over 90! Will probably have lunch with them too!

Town run to pick up motor oil for the bike, cracked corn for the birds, and a few other things... might as well make a full resupply run since I have to go to town anyway. I'll try to swap the clutch cable this afternoon, we'll see how I feel after the town run, lol. These town runs always take several hours and involve multiple stops, which burn time... guess I'll drop some books at the library while I'm at it. See, it's already snowballing, lol...

It's 10pm. Granddaughter just walked in, went upstairs carrying 2 flattened empty boxes. Now I hear her in the bathroom. No sign of grandson at all. Maybe he's in the barn. Ha.
Are they gone yet? I would be holding my breath....hope nothing stops it

Things are doing better today. Did some more sheep hoofs ( I can only do a few at a time, husband has to hold them), dewormed a few animals ( the ones that just gave birth, I deworm everyone at least once a year)
Cleaned barn and put everyone out. It's beautiful outside today.

Making 2 meals today because tomorrow we will be renting a tiller and doing the garden. Thinking about lasagne for tomorrow. I can just make it but leave it unbaked and then just put it in the oven

This reminds me of something when I had a project in Orlando. These 2 old ladies insisted on inviting me for lunch or tea every time they saw me at the project. I was the project manager for a construction project to fix flooding in their neighborhood. Their yard and house was the worst ( low spot) and they were so nice about everything including having some of their yard dug up , noise not being able to get in their driveway and so on. It did fix the problem of course ( lol I was a good engineer) and they actually sent my boss a thank you letter and I got a bonus out of it.
( but for those 2 nice old ladies, I had to deal with 10 absolute jerks in my job every day )

No doubt you can be proud of her. Congratulations to both of you!

This is great that people over 90 still live on their own. I'm sure help from the two of you makes a big difference for them.
