Good fortunes to those who got cutor surgery..

im mostly staying indoors,on this scorching hot day.took out 4 boneless chicken breast.sliced into strips.now i have a bunch of breaded chicken breast.on trays.and in the fridge, just a waiting to be fried up this evening.

Have been cleaning out things all day. Still working on our loft area. I braved granddaughters room and took out old food and dishes. Wish she wouldn't do that. Husband and I are going out tonight...a movie theatre called Flix. They serve food and beer right to your seat. Watching Mission Impossible. We haven't been to a movie in years. One of our kids gave him a gift certificate for it for Father's Day.

i have been watching some youtube videos tonight on dehydrating and found one on sweetened coconut. in january, i think, i bought a bunch of it for 25 cents a bag and threw it in the freezer. now i'm going to take it out and dehydrate it.

Had two biopsies taken from the output of my stomach where it goes into my large intestines. When I got home from the hospital I took a long nap.

Tonight I've been pricing my mom's household items to take to the outdoor market on Saturday. There's still a lot of stuff at her house and in her barns. My sister is wanting to rush selling so to get the house on the market. She thinks she's in charge, lol.

Today was a trial.

Shopping trip from hell.
Then I had to wrap my remaining 20 capsicum seedling stems in foil because over night the cutworms destroyed
10 of them.
If I left them for tomorrow when I felt better they'd be all killed come morning.
The Lord had to pour out a extra portion of strength for me to get that done.
I dragged my miserable self inside and looked at
on-line seed sites.

I put in a seed order and distracted myself thinking about the
up coming challenge of gardening in the tropical heat and humidity
of our Summer.

I'm in for a rough night.

Today was a busy day in the mountain cottage doing the usual weekly deep cleaning.

I started off the morning with doing some stain removing on some clothing, putting on a load of washing, hanging it on the clothes line and then bringing it back inside when dried. We then made the bed with fresh sheets and DH had a nap. While he was napping I watered half of the driveway lawns with saved grey water from our showers and washing machine.

When DH awoke I deep cleaned the bathroom and toilet and DH went to get the chainsaws going (but again put the wrong amount of 2 stroke in the fuel, the joys of short term memory loss ) but did find that the previous guy who serviced the chainsaws had dropped the spark plug and mashed it so that is part of the problem why it is running like a spluttering 100 yr old car. Another spirited debate ensued as DH told me he had put the right amount of oil in the petrol for the chainsaws after we took them in to have them serviced by another service centre in town who we have dealt with before and are good. They confirmed the mix had been too light on the oil and should have been 25:1 and only when we got home did he try and point out he had put in the right amount of oil then read the back of the bottle and realised he had not.

I have convinced him now to write the mix on each fuel can in permanent marker which he has done and hopefully we won't have a repeat session. Yep today I didn't hold my tongue and let him have it with all redheaded barrels going after I had been in his line of fire for a few days. The house has been tranquil all afternoon and I am hoping he hasn't burnt out around $3500 worth of chainsaws by not running them with enough oil in them.

Tonight we shall fold up 3 loads of washing and put it away and dinner was the first half of our homemade pizza.

Husband is off today but has a number of doctor appointments. Son and I are supposed to go to a friend's house this morning to do the last gleaning of a peach tree. Have more housework to do today, and hopefully our oven parts came this morning and it will be fixed this afternoon. I have cooking to get ready for husband's 65th birthday party tomorrow. His birthday is really mid week, but it's when the kids and grands can come. So, working through the menu and hopefully I can get the base of a number of chocolate cream pies oven baked this afternoon. If not, out comes the Coleman propane oven. Tomorrow a.m. we have an hour and a half drive to pick up the twins from camp. Has it been a week already? Going out for sushi tonight with daughter (child #4). I'll go for something cooked and not fish on the menu.

We went to the cardiologist today. She had a better check up this go round. The Doc didn't like her lows of 71/33 and 74/31 or her resting hear rates that were over 100 and he is still concerned because on some of her blood pressure readings the numbers are to far apart. They are supposed to be within 30 points of each other and she had a few that were 40-45. No meds yet because the salt seems to be helping. We go back in another 4 weeks.

Folks might get a laugh at this...

Its been decades since I’ve had a serious thumb injury… Making breakfast is easy with one hand, sausage, toast, melon, maybe a scrambled egg with salsa on top.

Dinner is far more complicated with one hand.

This afternoon I got a shower before going to the little country restaurant down the road. More problems, my left thumb is all taped up with 11 stitches. I could soap up the left side of my body with no problem… but my right? I couldn’t use my left hand.

I found a novel solution… a wood clamp, clamping a bar of soap to the right side of my walk-in shower on the little shelves. I got nice and soapy and clean. :D

Will be driving the hour and a half this morning to pick up twins from camp. Then (finally) the oven guy will come over at noon to try out the parts he ordered. But if it's not that, then we'll be ordering a new one. Kids and grandkids over this afternoon for husband's birthday celebration. I'll be cooking dutch oven. We had a large rainstorm last night and have two roof leaks. Of course one is over a tv and another is over ham radio equipment.

I'm going to visit my stepson and his family and coincidentally it's his 31st birthday today. His sister and her 2 youngest kids and her boyfriend, his dad and younger brother came out yesterday to fish for awhile and her oldest 2 and of their other grandfathers (they have 3 including me) came out earlier for awhile. It was nice to see them all. Mrs squirrelhunter is going to her class reunion today so I figured I'd go see my stepson since I haven't seen them in like a year or so. He's going to give me his kids last year school pictures.

Went to a town about 40 miles away yesterday to do some eBay shopping. It went well! So far today, I've cleaned bathrooms and dusted house. Still have some chicken to roast later and some eBay drafts to write and some photos to take. That's it. We did stop at a discount store on the way back and I stocked up on canned goods and a couple of frozen items that were on my Walmart list. Always good to know the Walmart prices and to get stuff for less elsewhere!

I had my hard working friend go up to our spring to help me clean out the roots and silt build up, with this dang congestive heart failure I've had to deal with I couldn't have done the clean out by myself. We haven't had any over flow from the cistern for seven days and I was getting concerned, but now that the spring hole is cleaned out I was able to see water coming from cracks in the rocks and with any luck we'll have overflow by sundown. I'm going to have to return to the spring site pretty soon and clean out the secondary spring pickup. All in all the spring has done quite good considering I haven't worked on it for at least ten years.
