Today we started off the morning with me harvesting 647 g of cherry tomatoes and then we went outside and harvested 13 bunches of silver beet from the gardens. DH put on a load of washing in the washing machine and then packaged another lot of dried herbs we sold on the internet. All up today we posted 375 g of dried herbs of varying varieties picked and dried from our gardens and 50 capsicum seeds also saved from our vegetable gardens. The post office will spell of dried thyme and rosemary until the postal truck arrives for pickup :).

Got home and listed all the expenditure in my accounts book and had some lunch and I washed all the silver beet we picked from the gardens and DH chopped it all and put on the steamer pot with water in it to boil. All up we ended up with 15 bags worth of blanched silver beet making 30 meals for us for the freezer. I put the vegetable washing water on some bald patches on the back lawn. DH also put on a load of washing in the washing machine, hung it out and watered another 1/3 rd of the back yard and some of the driveway with the saved grey water.

DH just heated up the other half of our mince, garden picked and frozen sweet potatoes, turnips, silver beet and fresh shelling pea stir fry. Who said being semi retired that you have nothing to do :dunno: , the saying quite mystifies me as we always have something to do.

Not sure if my new way of eating is giving me enough protein as I am pooped and just keep going anyway a lot of the time.

Yesterday morning, I made beef stew in the crockpot for DH, went to Sunday School, skipped Church and came home to rest. Then cut up squash and other veggies to roast with a little Italian dressing over, and that was it.

@snappy1 -- sorry, snappy. I don't know what diet you're on. Can you add things like black beans, kidney beans, chickpeas, soybeans, tofu or eggs to your diet?

Just started adding kidney beans and a little chicken or fish. I think it will get better and thanks for the suggestions.

Five years ago, I put the good keys, the one with the alarm plus the extra one to my Dodge in a safe place..I have hunted, and searched....and guess what....TODAY I FOUND THEM.....LOL...and hubby went down and checked...YES....the right keys....do you know how hard it is to just have one key to your vehicle and know where it is at all times ? Well, so glad I solved that for today.....

Back home again from the hospital.
This time my parents and little brother freaked out when my knee started seeping blood.
So back to the ER, at least this time my brother stayed with me. All other times I just stayed by myself.
In the two weeks I go back to see my surgeon.
Garden has burnt up, got nothing to show for my hard work this summer.
Extremely hot,humid, no rain.
Hope Timmie,Terrie and Amish Heart all get well along with family members whom are ill.
Strawberry is as close to me as she can get without actually being on my lap. She keeps licking my left foot.
It's just 5:38 pm and I'm already in my pj's. Wore slick.
Feeling accompliment today, did a load of laundry over at my parents house.
Made it through most of the day with only 4 pain pills today.
Instead of 1-2 every 6 hours, but definately tired tonight.

Mobook, bless your heart you have had a bad time with those knees. Hope the healing time is now coming into the picture. :huggs:

I've done it more times than I'll admit.

You and your DH a real trooper's Sewing. Great job's.

Starting yesterday as I and DH were in a foul mood is that we cut a cubic metre of firewood for the home as we were running low on it. Of course this was not easy as both chainsaws kept cutting out all the time and I said to DH they appear to be running too rich what mix of two stroke are you operating and he said 37.5 :1 and I said well the fuel isn't right. By this time he was fuming and snapping at me as we spent 3 hours cutting firewood and he had pulled his guts out on both chainsaws to keep them going to cut firewood. Turns out I was right (heaven forbid a woman be right) they were supposed to run on 25:1 two stroke mix oil as I asked him to google the mix with the chainsaw manufacturer. This is the time when good wives (with lots of patience :fun fun:) just shrug and walk away in the large 40 acre paddock that was where we were cutting the firewood collecting kindling la la la . Anyway we got home then and unloaded the firewood and put it under the house and had spam and egg hamburgers for dinner.

Today DH was still titchy about the chainsaw incident yesterday so I played diversion and brought up other subjects to talk about and gently suggested we go and get another 5 lt fuel pot and a couple of new spark plugs for both chainsaws, I would say the spark plugs are now oiled up too much but we shall try and salvage them tomorrow anyway and have reserves just in case.

We started off the morning with DH doing the usual bills and myself paying the electricity bill that just came in and I purchased 24 sets of leather riggers gloves at really good prices on the internet almost half the price of the ones in our local hardware store.

Into town we went and got a new 5lt fuel pot, 2 spark plugs for both chainsaws and a spark plug remover spanner kit and also managed to pick up a pair of rain pants on special for $5 for myself. Got home and DH had a lie down and I banked the remaining money into our home deposit savings account, put a load of washing on in the washing machine and hung it out and watered half of the back lawns with saved grey water from the washing machine and our showers.

Tonight's dinner will be homemade pancakes with homemade newly made strawberry jam and or butter as we are both walking around like zombies in pain as it took a lot of walking and collecting kindling for me not to chuck a redheaded wobbly at DH yesterday, understanding of course he was in pain with his back.
