I had my hard working friend go up to our spring to help me clean out the roots and silt build up, with this dang congestive heart failure I've had to deal with I couldn't have done the clean out by myself. We haven't had any over flow from the cistern for seven days and I was getting concerned, but now that the spring hole is cleaned out I was able to see water coming from cracks in the rocks and with any luck we'll have overflow by sundown. I'm going to have to return to the spring site pretty soon and clean out the secondary spring pickup. All in all the spring has done quite good considering I haven't worked on it for at least ten years.

. I haven't drank from a natural above ground spring since I was a child. We use to get on our knees in Stone Mountain and drink from them when running through the woods.

We are doing little chores here and there. Today I walked into another spider web and pulled it off my face.
Watched a little history and cooked dinner.

Started off the day with separating both dried English and French lavender picked and dried from the gardens and finally made it to 50 g of English lavender to list in my store.

Then into town where we posted another 50 g of dried thyme picked and dried from the gardens and went to the chainsaw repair shop to pick up our chainsaws. My idea was to bring them home and sell them as spare parts on the internet but knowing that the guy in the repair shop was interested in buying both of them for parts I wrangled a deal and sold both for $200 which gives us back half of the income we spent on the new chainsaws and with our friend paying for the one he inadvertently destroyed the 2 new chainsaws with 2 new chains will only cost us around $39 so I am happy with not so much income coming out of our budget.

When we got home I put on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine and we put the $200 into our home emergency kitty to top that up for the next few months. Then out to the gardens where we harvested some more French and English lavender and hung it to dry for more lavender supplies. Then listed 4 more hand made items on the internet and will have more listings to do tomorrow.

Tonight's dinner was battered fish fillets and chips.

Started off the morning with DH washing the dishes and cleaning the benches and I wiping them and putting them away. DH then put on a load of washing, hung it on the clothes line and brought it back in when dry. While he was doing this I was taking more photos of my handmade items to list on eBay to take advantage of a free listing promotion.

After a bit of a break we washed the 2.5 kg of cherry tomatoes we picked from the gardens on Saturday and put them on trays to freeze and we took out another tray of frozen tomatoes and packaged them into 3 meal sized portions for the freezer. Then out on to the front veranda where we separated out the last of our dried thyme picked from the gardens making in total for this batch picked 497 g of dried thyme. Then I did the banking and banked my pay into our home deposit savings account.

This evening I edited some photos taken and listed 12 more homemade items in my eBay shop and answered a query from a business about buying our organic lavender. I am hoping this one goes through as they would be a repeat customer.

Tonight's dinner was a half of a large homemade quiche made with eggs, bacon, homegrown tomatoes and silver beet and it was truly yummy :) .

Woke up to much needed rain today! Very thankful to the great Creator!

We have had rain almost daily for past 6 to 8 months now but it is better than fires although can get tiring.

Not sure what we will do today yet. First thing this morning was the snake had to be removed from hen pen again!! Hubby said next time we will take him down the road. He is at least 6' and makes a big thump when he hits the ground so much so that today he broke the grabber handle so be glad when new snake grabber arrives in the mail.

@snappy1 how is your eBay store going at the moment do you find you are getting a few sales and it is helping bring in a bit of extra income for you. Also what products do you sell I think I remember you sold second hand clothing ?.

Going well right now but will slow down in August. And yes, pre-owned clothes mostly as they are easy to ship.

We will be off to the VA clinic in town today for dh. Not sure what else the day will hold!

I did!
He enjoyed his meal and his gifts. Got an interesting big box from his sister in California...it was a big box of pork. Ribs, ham, sausages, steaks. Even the box it came in to keep it cold was neat. Son got him the grains and yeast for their next 10 gallons of California Common beer that they'll be brewing soon.

Started off the morning with DH watering the garden beds with the drip irrigation system.

Then out into the gardens where we weeded 2 Canna and Calla Lily beds, harvested rosemary and mulched up some lemon grass prunings, grass clippings, Lucerne hay and old pumpkin vines with the ride on mower and then used that mulch to mulch all of the lily beds.

Our largest chainsaw arrived with the two spare chains so we put that together and took it down to the shed. Then DH put on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine and I answered a customer query about buying some lavender sprigs off us. He liked the price and said he looked forward to us continually supplying him and I am very happy as that will be a steady flow of extra income coming into the home.

Spent this afternoon answering emails from friends from around the world and catching up with them was nice.

Tonight's dinner was the other half of our homemade quiche heated up and made with garden vegetables and eggs gifted to us.

Getting ready to make husband breakfast, pack lunch, do the animals and morning cleanup, then off to work I go. Tomorrow starts a number of days where my assistant is off, so I'll be working till 7pm those nights. Not happy about that, I'll do what I can making dinner early in the morning so I can just reheat it when I get home. Normally not a problem, but husband has decided to go on a diet, so the menu for the week has been planned out already and it's not a quick cook and fix. The twins are going to an evening vacation Bible school the next four evenings, so it'll be a little quiet around here in the evening. Anything to get grandson to stop obsessing over video games. He was invited to a friend's house yesterday, and all they did was air soft and video games .

Husband's real 65th birthday today. He's taking it very hard. Ha.
Making some steaks on the Barbie.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mr. Amish Heart!

Had to go to the drug store to pick up a prescription for my wife. So while I was there I wandered into their gun department. They had the Ruger 9mm carbine that I have been thinking about so I bought it while waiting for the prescription. Both my wife and I got something!

Update on left knee:
9 internal stitches, 9 external stitches later my left knee is finally closed.
Yesterday was trying day to say the least.
Anybody know when I will get some energy back.
Go back to VA twice next week.

That sounds rough, MOBookworm! Try to rest until you do get some energy.

It will take awhile. The body is using all reserves to heal itself. Rest, fluids, vit C , good quality protein will all help. Don’t push too hard. Take frequent rest breaks.

Thank you for the advice.
I will just ignore family advice that says I should be walking better, quit being a wuss.
Course none of these family members have had this done. Go figure,
PT personnel says I'm where I should be.
Surgeon says I'm where I should be.
Maybe ahead in a few areas.
All I know for sure is I'm always tired.
Not overly hungry.
Strawberry feels neglected sometimes.
But my son, my friend Rick spend time with her when I can't.
Which seems like alot lately.
My grandaughter Estelle likes to get hold of my walker.
She uses it pretty good.
But her other Aunt has a walker too.
And her big sister has one too.
Seems she took dive off high dive didn't land quite right.
Broke her leg, ankle, growth plate, so she has bright blue cast, neon green walker.
