This week has been so crazy, I have not have time to sit and think. Two weeks ago I killed a sow with my .22 pistol. That now makes 2 I killed in a week with my little 9 shot revolver. Last night husbands truck was repo-ed. Night befor that, I found out I was going to be a nanna again. Very exciting. Will post more after she tells family tomorrow. We close on some land we are selling the end of August. Hopefully we can pay off most of house, get his truck back and pay taxes. After paying 3300.00 for meds for him in spring, refilled them Monday for 900.00. We are broke. That was for 3 months and he goes on Medicare in October. I sign up as a spouse in September to get on in December. Choosing the right supplemental policy is a nightmare. My only RX costs 14.00 without insurance. My life sinsurance expired on the 24th and my agent dropped the ball on getting me insured in a timely fashion. I have signed up for more, had 2 physicals this week and hopefully will be insured again,,, soon! I worked every day this week and cleaned a house after work today. Really need to clean my house in case realtor shows it. Hope everyone has a blessed weekend!

Ran to the grocery store this morning and saw these and thought of California.

Glad it is Saturday here :) .

Started off the morning not feeling really well and battling to breathe but we went to town to post 2 items I sold on the internet and while driving I suddenly realised why I am not well we have dust storms and I have severe allergic asthma at the moment. That is how dry it is is all we can see is red dust in clouds over the mountain and the dust is everywhere.

While in town we picked up firstly some new asthma spray for me which I took immediately and had a rest for a while to get my breath and then purchased 2 knee supports for DH at the discount variety store along with a can of lighter fluid that was really cheap. Feeling a tad better now but still a little short of breath, my chest is aching and I am feeling rather lethargic and will take some more asthma medication shortly. I am now hiding in the house while we have dust clouds and high winds everywhere.

DH has taken over my garden watering so I can stay out of the dust and done the vacuuming of the house for the week.

@txcatlady I am sorry to hear about the truck and things have been hard :huggs:to you both and I will keep you both in our prayers.

Lots of people are finding just living more difficult and I know here in Australia the cost of everything just keeps rising while our pensions, although tied to the CPI, do not meet what the prices are rising by.

Gonna take a little one that visits us on Saturday out in the Jeep that he obsesses over. For whatever reason he loves to ride in it and we are going to explore some truck trails in the area. Not sure where that will take us but we always have fun.

I'm with you there, Meerkat. Sometimes I have to remind myself that if I don't have anything nice to say, to not say anything at all. Some days are more difficult than others.
Am wiped out and taking a break. Husband and I went out to breakfast, then to Sams for the preschool stock up. Then I went to the school to unload and put away. Also had to take an inside inventory of the entire school for the real estate broker. Then to the feed store and then to the grocery. They had sugar for 25 cents a lb, 16 lb limit. Also pineapples for 99 cents a lb. Thinking of dehydrating the pineapple in slices, then dipping half the slice in dark chocolate. Usually make these at Christmastime, but they sound good now. Need to get the kitchen cleaned up and feed the animals in awhile. But it's so hot outside! Blech. Dehydrator is full of shredded zucchini that needs to be put away. I have a lot of dried citrus that needs to be powdered. Tomorrow morning I've been offered a go at a peach tree that is ready for picking, so I'll be there with the grandkids to help.

Thanks @Meerkat and am feeling a little better this morning. Still have allergic asthma and of course allergies but my chest isn't as sore now and am feeling a little more energetic now. Being Sunday morning I don't have to be energetic anyway as it is our day of rest here where possible where only the essential things get done :) .

It seems as though when it rains, it pours!

I have been getting some much needed yard work, but will probably never get caught up. I don't do well in the sun and heat, so I can work for a bit, and then I need to take a good long break.

Had a surprise visit from youngest son and his lovely wife.
They were just in the neighborhood, right 4.5 hour drive one way.
Don't care about the reasoning, just loved seeing them.
Strawberry was happy to see them too.
Laura gave her a puppy massage, and Fred played with her.
She walked around all afternoon with puppy grins on her face.
Both Fred, Laura and Charlie have said don't push so hard on Physical Therapy.
But Physical Therapy says I'm where I'm suppose to be on 3 areas,
Just a little bit weak in a couple of areas.
Starting next week, I will start working with cane instead of walker two days for Physical Therapy.
Have another Ortho appointment on Tuesday at 1100 hours.
And Primary Care appointment at 0830 hours on Wednesday.
Sitting here in the silence reading the different forums.
Very relaxing.
Getting tired, so I'll say Good night.
Wishing everyone good health.
It's raining here, thought I was imagining the sound.
Had to get up and look.
To late for the garden, but smells wonderful just the same.
Night.

A bit has happened.

Hip and knee surgeon has written both knees and hips off as inoperable.
Thy fist had to do skin patch tests to see if I was allergic to Lidocaine and Cortisone before they injected my hips to reduce my pain
levels.
My body metabolises Lidocaine very, very quickly and Cortisone destroys connective tissue <- filed under Things we find out after the fact.
The Lidocaine / Cortisone lasted for 3 hours and left me with a huge honking great bruise which they're attributing to the Cortisone.
My surgeon has decided no more L&C shots for me.
He believes the hip pain is neuropathic and there's nothing he can do and the knee pain he believes that any operation
will fail like the last one so there's no point subjecting me to another failed surgery.

My shoulder surgeon has decided to go through with the shoulder fusion surgery but he's going to investigate doing the surgery under Ketomine
instead of the dual nerve block.
He's referred me to a high risk anesthetist who'll do the necessary tests to make sure I'm not allergic to the nerve block
drugs or the Ketomine or the non-steroidal anti-inflams.
He has decided that any future appointments are going to be done in my home town base hospital so I don't have to do the long trip
to the big smoke. He doesn't like me driving while in that much pain.

They have both referred me to a chronic pain specialist to find ways of dealing with my pain that won't kill me.
Surgery can't happen until the chronic pain specialist can find something that works.

They have both thrown their weight behind my Rheumatologist referral. IT's been over 6 months and we are still
waiting.

My awesome Physio has stopped my appointments until after my shoulder fusion as she said that I'm too fragile
for her to manipulate and the trips to the big smoke to see her are taking too much of a toll.

I've been warned to prepare myself that there's a wheelchair in my future.
Hell might freeze over first.

I don't know if collagen will help you but friends of mine turned me on to it and it helps my knees and back. My wife takes it and Mom is doing so well, the doc's refuse to operate on her knees, with it that Dad started taking it.

It looks like it would be awesome for "normal" people BUT unfortunately my condition - Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, is a genetic mutation.
My cells have the wrong recipe to make collagen even when all the elements to make strong collagen are
present in large quantities in my system.

I appreciate the link though.

Thank you.

Went and picked up a different freezer today, only cost $30. It's like the 1 we have now but the lid closes on this 1,our old 1 doesn't close all the way and the seal is coming loose from the lid. Now to empty the old 1 into the new 1 ans switch them around. I'll do it in a day or so.

Picked and peeled SO many peaches today. Didn't get any of them canned....6 hrs of peeling with daughter helping full time and grandson and his dad helping for an hour. So in qt sized freezer bags they went, and my freezers were full, so I brought them down to the school freezer. Have a long day at work tomorrow so no time to deal with them now. Didn't even get to the salsa. That tree we picked was slammed full. Free fruit is nice.

Thank you @gumpy for your kind thoughts :) . Chest is not sore this morning but still have allergic asthma and taking asthma puffer as there are high winds and dust floating. We have had a bit of rain enough perhaps to dampen down a little dust and more forecast for this afternoon so hopefully that will stop the dust storms in our area.

Round 1 of today is that I have stain removed some clothing, put a load of washing on and hung it on the clothes line and then DH on a loaf of bread in the bread machine and I just heard it beep so it is ready. We then packaged 50 g of dried lavender and 400 capsicum seeds that I sold in my shop to post later this afternoon and I have notified the buyers that they will be posted today.

Shortly we will package the frozen cherry tomatoes we have in the freezer into meal sized portions in freezer bags, have lunch and then DH will wash up the dishes and clean the benches and I will wipe them and put them away.

@Tank-Girl I hope they sort out a good medical treatment plan for you and be able to give you some pain medication to ease your day to day pain :) . Have you tried rubbing Arnica or Comfrey cream into the painful areas it does help DH. Also run it by your doctor whether high dose magnesium tablets coupled with calcium to help absorption would help you and not interfere with any other medications you are taking. As DH's specialist said try everything to relieve the pain both natural and prescription.

I appreciate the tips SC.
Thank you!

ATM I'm only on Zofran wafer to help my nausea so I can eat.
I'm either allergic to or metabolise analgesia too fast for it to be effective.
I'm stuck with rest and heat packs and sheer deep down grit and that only gets me so far.

To be honest I'm getting sick of being brave.
I'm sick of having being more stubborn than the pain to get anything done.
I'm very, very tired.

Completely stressed... appointment with eye surgeon tomorrow. Haven't slept since Friday afternoon... No worries... it's what happens to folk with CFS when stressed. 180 mile drive tomorrow... I think I'll get a hotel room after the appointment and stay in the big town.

:huggs:@Tank-Girl yes constant pain wears you down and makes you so tired you will be in our prayers :callyou:. Another thing to try is Epsom salts baths when you are in pain as it has magnesium in it that absorbs into the body. Magnesium stops the muscle spasms that cause you to be in pain because the muscles tense up making the pain worse.

@Peanut sounds like a good idea to stay overnight once you have seen the eye surgeon as it is dangerous driving that tired. Hopefully afterwards you will sleep like a baby and wake up refreshed for the trip home.

Our day part 2 is we ended up with 4 more meals of cherry tomatoes after packaging the ones we froze from the gardens. We went out into the gardens and picked around 20 g of snow peas and 1.1 kg of cherry tomatoes that we will leave in the bowl for a few days and then blanch and freeze them.

This afternoon I took more photos of some handmade items and did 10 more free listings on eBay. Tonight's dinner was homemade pancakes with a side of butter and or cream and homemade strawberry jam.

It's Monday, and back to the work grind. The peaches are taken care of for the most part, except 8 flats of them sitting in our family room. We'll be eating those fresh and giving them away. Too bad I have a really long day at work, as there is a whole table of salsa making stuff looking at me unmade. Plan to put a roast in the crockpot this morning. Husband needs to eat (on his diet) at 6pm, and I'm not even home till 7. He is on diet week two and is grumpy about it. Now hoping he can figure out how to take the roast out of the crockpot and retrieve a dinner salad I'll put in the fridge. We are having Medieval times week at the school every afternoon this week; and closing with a "feast" on Friday. Next week, public school starts up again.
