Good night, Mo.
Sounds like you're getting better!
Just got home late last night very early this morning from VA ER.
Fever,chills,vomiting, after taking new antibiotics.
Had adverse reaction to antibiotics,so they're gone got 2 new ones, 1 anti nausea pill.
So far keeping them down.
But other than that feel pretty good.

Decided to drive home, made it to the parking garage at 2:30pm, before the start of rush hour...

Exhausted of course. My surgeon is a woman in her 30's, smart, thorough and good lookin'! The next available surgery date is 18oct, darn! The scheduling lady said if someone cancels she could bump me up! All in all not a completely rotten day.

Getting NBN connected today so I hope all goes well but should we have tech problems I may be AWOL for a while. Should be a simple matter of plugging in the new modem and away we go but sometimes it isn't that simple as we have found out with other technical nightmares.

Just got home from Orthopedic appointment.
It went better than expect. Still have my 9 external stitches.
Maybe next week they will come out?
In the 15 years I have been going to the VA, this is the first time I filed complaint against someone.
Big message this week is Don't Push!
So back down to 50%bend on left knee.
Last week started doing cane and weight training on left knee.
Can still do that, with modification only 50% bend.
Kept new antibiotics down so far.
Will be tired of clear liquids when I finish antibiotics.
Otherwise I get to eat light, jello, broth, clear juice, dry toast.
Lunch is the same but with yogurt.
Good news though I have lost 10 pounds.
In two weeks I can lose the tet hose.

Me and the Mrs. went fishing in the pond. She caught a couple small bluegill and I caught a mid-sized one,a decent striped bass and a pretty good sized albino catfish. I was shocked at how much the striped bass had grown in 5 months,it had quadrupled in size at least, maybe 5 times.

Sorry I’ve missed what is happening to so many of you in the health department. I sure hope all of you have good results with your medical issues. To those having decent days, Congraulations.

I’ve been working on working and getting ready for a visit with my younger daughter, her hubby, 7 grandkids and their brand new home in South Florida. But, computer is going with me, so I’ll be here and there.

Took our paddle boat out today to enjoy the beautiful day (and get some exercise).
Got two heavy metal hanging outdoor chairs that I hung in the covered deck. Very comfortable and I made swivels so so can turn the chair to look in every direction. Now we can sit in comfort and watch the elk and other critters.

That sounds great, would be even greater if you could come up with a photo to share.

Started off the morning with both of us having nice warm showers to defrost as we were in negative temperatures last night, brrr. Had a few hot chocolates and went into town to get our tax returns done, sadly we are getting less back due to increasing bank interest but this year will be different as DH will be paying my tithe and fast offerings which should negate the bank interest from his income as I am classified as a dependent spouse. There is more ways to pay less tax if you really think about it :) .

Then off to the Aldi to pick up a couple of months worth of groceries and then to the auto shop to pick up some more chain bar oil for the chainsaws. Back home where we dated and put away the groceries rotating them newest to the back oldest to the front and DH washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away. DH also did all the banking and bill paying online as it was his payday.

As we have a rental inspection Monday we thought we would start deep cleaning the house and started with the sewing craft room which is now done.

Tonight's dinner will be cabana & cheese on crackers for DH and my dinner will be a chicken maryland which we baked last night with cheese and tomatoes and dessert will be tinned fruit with whipped cream on top.

A bit has happened.

Hip and knee surgeon has written both knees and hips off as inoperable.
Thy fist had to do skin patch tests to see if I was allergic to Lidocaine and Cortisone before they injected my hips to reduce my pain
levels.
My body metabolises Lidocaine very, very quickly and Cortisone destroys connective tissue <- filed under Things we find out after the fact.
The Lidocaine / Cortisone lasted for 3 hours and left me with a huge honking great bruise which they're attributing to the Cortisone.
My surgeon has decided no more L&C shots for me.
He believes the hip pain is neuropathic and there's nothing he can do and the knee pain he believes that any operation
will fail like the last one so there's no point subjecting me to another failed surgery.

My shoulder surgeon has decided to go through with the shoulder fusion surgery but he's going to investigate doing the surgery under Ketomine
instead of the dual nerve block.
He's referred me to a high risk anesthetist who'll do the necessary tests to make sure I'm not allergic to the nerve block
drugs or the Ketomine or the non-steroidal anti-inflams.
He has decided that any future appointments are going to be done in my home town base hospital so I don't have to do the long trip
to the big smoke. He doesn't like me driving while in that much pain.

They have both referred me to a chronic pain specialist to find ways of dealing with my pain that won't kill me.
Surgery can't happen until the chronic pain specialist can find something that works.

They have both thrown their weight behind my Rheumatologist referral. IT's been over 6 months and we are still
waiting.

My awesome Physio has stopped my appointments until after my shoulder fusion as she said that I'm too fragile
for her to manipulate and the trips to the big smoke to see her are taking too much of a toll.

I've been warned to prepare myself that there's a wheelchair in my future.
Hell might freeze over first.

Tank, sorry your having such a bad time at it. :huggs:

I'm with you there, Meerkat. Sometimes I have to remind myself that if I don't have anything nice to say, to not say anything at all. Some days are more difficult than others.
Am wiped out and taking a break. Husband and I went out to breakfast, then to Sams for the preschool stock up. Then I went to the school to unload and put away. Also had to take an inside inventory of the entire school for the real estate broker. Then to the feed store and then to the grocery. They had sugar for 25 cents a lb, 16 lb limit. Also pineapples for 99 cents a lb. Thinking of dehydrating the pineapple in slices, then dipping half the slice in dark chocolate. Usually make these at Christmastime, but they sound good now. Need to get the kitchen cleaned up and feed the animals in awhile. But it's so hot outside! Blech. Dehydrator is full of shredded zucchini that needs to be put away. I have a lot of dried citrus that needs to be powdered. Tomorrow morning I've been offered a go at a peach tree that is ready for picking, so I'll be there with the grandkids to help.

Yes I get too carried away with all the bad news so I have to take breaks. Put that energy into something good. Like work that needs to be done.:gardening::lil guy:

MoBook, you have had a real go at it lately so hopefully things are turning around and your healing will be speedy.
I like your face it reminds me of somebody I like but don't know who yet. Maybe its me?:D Anyway get well soon.
:huggs:

Got good news… have a date for my eye surgery. In Oct, wish it was sooner… what can one expect from the VA system. Logistics well underway, places to stay etc. Networking with good folks is a good thing. All I need is taken care of until I’m able to drive. :)

I will be having cataracs surgery soon as I get appt..
You take care and good luck with surgery.:good luck::heart:

I've been busy with a fundraiser at Church Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. Been walking every day. Gong on a day trip for eBay Thursday, I think. Today I get my hair cut and a new decal for my car tag. Just regular life stuff!

I just did another disasterous haircut on myself. Hubby ask me when I was going to learn, it was at my waist last month but I whacked it up now it is mid back and this morning I whacked it again, so now front is not even shoulder length.:dunno::huh::oops:. I was just trying to thin it out some.:(

Anyway take care Snappy.:thumbs::green man:

Got to get busy again, so far make 20 pieces of garlic toast ,6 servings of veggy zuccini lasagna all going into freezer. Prepared organic beets for pickling and still have apples to cut up and steam for deserts.
and of course cleaning.

Here is a quick pic I took today. We had to go to the nearby small town and drove past "our" lake. The lake is more than a mile long but only a half mile or less wide. I'll post another picture the next time we are on the lake.

my daughter's home is the only home they have ever known. their mother was arrested yesterday for drugs. thank god the boys were not with her. i told her that i will help any way i can. i babysat today so she could talk to a lawyer, and get everything rolling. she has to carry the worst of the load but she won't be alone.

I worked out a few more details today. There are 3 hotels within 5 blocks of the eye clinic. Lots of places to order food from. I have to be at the clinic at 6am. I'll get a hotel room for two nights, the night before and after.

I belong to a CFS support group on FB. Another member, a lady with CFS, lives just over a mile from the clinic. She's going to get me to and from the surgery, make sure I'm okay until I can drive. So it looks like I'm set. ;)

This morning I visited my friend in the aged care facility and we had a wonderful conversation on her great grandfather living through in 1902 otherwise known as the Federation drought here in Australia and how they survived back then and about her experiences living through WWII and rationing. We focused on being grateful and thankful for what we have today, what each of us was thankful for, and about the drought we are currently having and preparing in general. It was so interesting to hear about the history of some of our pioneers here.

After a bit of a break when I got home we deep cleaned the dressing, medical, food storage room and ironing room which by the way is the same room for our rental inspection on Monday. I wiped down all the walls, skirting boards, window surrounds, clothing racks and summer clothing vacuum sealed bags they were stored in and DH dried them and then, vacuumed the room. I damp dusted the Venetian blinds and DH cleaned the window in there. We then reorganised the room so everything fits in there a lot better and it now sparkles and culled a few things too.

Our friend came around today who borrowed the chainsaw and didn't remember putting fuel in it so needless to say we are down the cost of one chainsaw that I expected would be the case. He is dropping us around a 15 kg bucket of honey for us in the next week or so in payment for the use of our trailer for a long trip for his beekeeping business though so I suppose that is something. He has got a lot of bee hives that are dying due to drought conditions here and secretly I think he knew and remembered he fueled up the chainsaw but didn't have the money or honey to replace or reimburse the costs for us replacing it. Yes I am still peeved.

DH and I re-discussed no -one will be lending our equipment from now on unless we are attached to it.

Tonight's dinner will be bacon and egg burgers.

Bless her heart, mine has had her grandkids since one was born and the other was only months old. A shame because the kids take it out on the grands because their mother is not there. They are now 5 and 9 years old.
these 2 boys are 7 and 5. i hope they don't. i pray they don't and i pray for any grandparent having to go thru this. but in this case we know the boys are as safe as can be.
