My house is trashed one end to another. I'm the only one who cleans around here. So goal is to get the kitchen cleaned, all the laundry done, the two front rooms cleaned and finish chopping jalepenos and onions to put in the big pot the chopped tomatoes are in. The pots been in the fridge with the tomatoes sitting in lime juice and apple cider vinegar. Need to finish it all up and can salsa. Meeting husband friend at a brewery this afternoon for sushi (bleech.) and beer. So maybe canning after that.

Today my friend, who I call one of my homesteading sisters is driving down to see me. I have not seen her since 2014. I am really excited and looking forward to our day together. We were really close at one time and she has moved about an hour and a half away. I do not know what we will do, but I never know what will happen when we set off for a day.

Be careful with the sushi. read lots of people gt parasites from a batch of it.

You can get parasites from most anything that isn't cooked well done. I eat my meat no more than medium and most veggies raw or lightly steamed. Veggies are washed thoroughly and the meat is rinsed with water and vinegar. I gave myself food poisoning once - ecol i - but it only lasted about twelve hours. I eat a lot of questionable "foods" and I believe my body is prepared for just about anything.

lady up the road gave me 6 huge cases of onions. i'm running behind ,so i didn't get to the boys to get ready for school. will take care of that first thing in the morning. then we are coming home and work on these onions ,because she has more and taters also . i told her i will help her what i can. but hey this stuff is free for me. so onions will go in the freezer, canner and dehydrator. plus i'm going to take my daughter some.

Had a nice morning at church this morning and everyone seemed cheery today :) . We have yet another friend who has been diagnosed with depression and DH gave him some tips on how to cope a bit better from his personal experience with PTSD which he was grateful for. Caught up with another friend from our ward that I haven't seen for ages and she has had a long bout of depression too so I gave her a hug and we spoke for a while too. Yes we are in a ward where about 40% or more have depression and or mental health issues.

We are now 3/4's of the way through deep cleaning the kitchen and will finish that tonight ready for our inspection for tomorrow. Both of us love the after effects of a nice clean home but just don't like the process of doing it :) .

@katlupe I hope you had a good day out with your friend I too have a few prepping sisters in my local area and on the internet that I get on well with too. It is great to compare notes on how to do things we don't know much about.

We had a great time catching up on the last four years. I have a feeling she will be moving back to my area. The area she moved to is a money area and she is not happy there. Especially with her neighbors spraying chemicals big time on their lawns and affecting her small garden. We went to my local Chinese buffet restaurant and just talked and had so much to tell each other.

Today my plans are to finish organizing some stuff that I never got put away since I moved here in May. And since I follow Atkins/Keto food plans, I am going to make some dishes that I have not bothered with since I am usually pretty busy. Today, I will make a few dishes to keep for the next few days that will make my meals easier. Eating this way means you usually have to cook something and can't just grab it quick. I like that though and have always cooked that way my whole life. I learned to cook pretty young, since I had a working mother.

Will be headed to church soon. Then all of our grandkids and families will be here late evening to celebrate our oldest grand sons birthday and him heading out to college next week for the first time. Looking forward to the get together as they are few and far between!

@katlupe glad you had a great time with your friend and it sounds like it will be great if she moves closer to you than she is now. We too cook double meals usually and have it over 2 days as we find it is far more cost and time effective to do things that way. We find that when you buy things in larger quantity packets it is far cheaper than buying the smaller quantities. In our experience it is far harder to cook for just 1 or 2 people than a large family.

Since I now have a freezer, I can do things like that. Sometimes I cook up a whole package of bacon or breakfast sausage in the Instant Pot and keep it in the refrigerator and just warm it up for breakfast while I am cooking my eggs. Easy and simple and saves having to wash the greasy pan more than once.

Our 35th anniversary is tomorrow and since there won't be much celebrating then (work, grandson has scouts, kids first day back to school), we are celebrating today. Off to do my chores in a minute, then to breakfast. Unfortunately I need to stop in a work for a little bit, But then we'll pack up and go to the range for a shooting day. Then tonight we'll be going out for a nice dinner.

Just got back from getting 3 tons of wood pellets for our winter heat. It got down to -30 last year for almost a week and we went through all 3 tons over the whole season. Usually in the past we'd have 1/2 a ton left by the end of winter, but not last winter.

Now I have laundry to do and lunch to fix and I have to figure something out for supper lol

I’m sitting around at youngest daughter and famly’s home. 7 grandkids I’d not seen in 2 years. Ad we had birthday cake for GDaugher #2 and I today. So now just relaxing, more than I do at home and enjoying nap time near silence before everyone is up and playing again.

Happy Birthday, @Angie !
:heart/flower
Naptime around here. Went to church, as I do every Sunday, short day today though. Our newest grandbaby was blessed today.
@Sewingcreations15 -- how often do you have to do all that cleaning? What is required? Is it required because it's a rental? We hadn't rented in years but have been for the past 2 years, we were homeowners for more than 25 years.
@WVDragonlady that's a lot of wood. May there always be a fire going when needed.
@Amish Heart Happy Anniversary!

@gumpy . hi gump I see your here so how is it going for you these days? What state are you in now,:antiqueauto:?
The state of Confusion most of the time, lol. I'm back home in Alabama again Hopefully never to leave very long again. I've settled in Florence until I can save enough pennies to buy a few acres out in the country again. I'm not happy in the city, but its ok for now!
I'm working as a machinest and welder in a shop across the river six days a week and work 20-23 hours a week in the evening as a cashier in a Dollar Store. I can't last this pace much longer though. I'm to old and crippled up to work this many hours. It sure is fun though!

This was our anniversary weekend 11 years. We spent the weekend in Springfield at the Missouri Route 66 festival we had a fantastic time listening to music and people watching.
