Cooking Spaghetti squash in garlic butter with garlic/cheese bread and marinara sauce and sausages with my sweet and sour puree. I might do something after that, might not. my back popped like a shotgun a minute ago, but ten bucks say it rains now. LOL
I'm making lunch for a work crew at church tomorrow. Menu: baked spaghetti, tossed salad, garlic bread. I haven't made garlic bread in decades due to limiting bread intake and daughter's celiac. I've never put cheese on it. Decades ago, someone told me they put mozzarella cheese on theirs. Parmesan cheese sounds good to me. What kind of cheese do you use? And how do you make yours, please?

I fell asleep in the recliner again after dinner last night. My GF woke me up to send me to bed. It took a couple hours but I was asleep again and slept great to about 4am. Watched a bit of YouTube, including the Tucker Carlson video, and finally decided to get up and dressed at 6am. I will make ham and eggs again and slowly get ready for day two of work. It is rumored to be an easy and possibly a short day. After work I head to Nevada to pick up my boys for the weekend. I have an eye appointment Saturday afternoon so we will take the kids and let them wander the mall while I get my exam. My youngest just turned 13 so I will tell him to pick something out if he sees something he likes. I suspect it might be something at Barnes & Noble, possibly a game or science type project but if he doesn't find anything there his other option will be a new pair of cool shoes or something online.
I am hoping to try out the new wood chipper and compost shredder, Yesterday the girls cleaned up some stuff in the yard and made a couple piles of things to run through the machine.

A small amount of shredded Mozzarella while it is baking and sprinkle the Parmesan right after it comes out of the oven. Yummy stuff. If you want to be wild you can use some bacon bits under the cheese.

I remember staying in a really nice Ramada with an indoor water park somewhere in the middle of Nebraska. The kids were young then and we had so much fun we spent hours there. It was somewhere near a huge Pioneer Museum might have been Kearney . I liked Nebraska to visit, wouldn't want to live there.
I stayed at a Ramada Inn with a water park in Nebraska once when daughter was young as well. I think it was in North Platte, but it was so long ago.

Today, I need to water my cornfield and take care of my livestock. I have to feed my cows, goats, and chickens. Afterward, I had to spend almost two hours dealing with eBay customer service. I ordered some tools from a seller who claimed to be from Houston, Texas, but I later found out that he is actually from Malaysia. To my disappointment, the order has not been shipped yet, and I was advised to wait for 30 days to see if the item would be sent. The total cost of all the tools I ordered amounts to $350. I now realize that I should have just gone to a local store to buy these tools. I will have to reorder from a local dealer instead.

After the recent bad news regarding my missing cat and the cr@pped-out carb on the bike, I decided to take a day off and recoup, ya know? I'm still knocking out household chores, including laundry, and I also watered outside, but I'm gonna relax for the rest of the day and probably sample some of that new batch of busthead cider, lol. Not yet, I don't wanna drink that cider too early in the day, so for now I'm having a beer, and it tastes pretty darned good. 🍺

Sky is cloudy so the temp is cooler, which is nice... with luck, we'll get some rain outta these clouds, despite the weather forecast which says no rain. Meh, even if it doesn't rain, at least it'll be cooler, as it's supposed to be cloudy all day. I'll take whatever I can get in the way of breaks when it comes to these new plantings of mine. I checked the latest round of weed seeds and melon seeds, they haven't germinated yet so I don't have to do anything about 'em today. 😒

I had the weirdest dream last night, and it included ANTS! Y'all may recall that I mentioned ants from my neighbor's yard overflowing into my yard, right? I haven't seen the elderly gal yet to ask her about treating the nests, so the ants are going off... overrunning my yard like the Mongolian Horde. Anyway, in this dream, I looked down to see MILLIONS of ants crawling around my feet, lol... might be time to bust out the poison and deal with the nests on my side of the fence. 🤔

P.S. Perhaps I shouldn't eat one of those Dagwood Bumstead sandwiches before crashing, lol...

I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope he gets shut down. I am cautious of people who are selling from overseas. In your case, he was deceptive before you even ordered. Several years ago I heard from someone who had a similar thing happen. She told me she now always looks people's sales history, for many sales and a very high score, 100% being the preference. I've been selling books on Amazon and previous eBay's now closed book store, Half.com for about 15 years. I have a 100% score on Amazon, but somehow got dinged by someone on Half.com, whom I had never had any orders from, and then after they left their lies, blocked me. I suppose they were going after those who had perfect scores. This thing of giving scores for people you buy from is important for this reason. Let the good outweigh the bad. And there are scammers on both sides.

Went shooting this morning, then out to lunch with friends. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should do the laundry or mount the remaining smoke detectors. Since I can't seem to decide, maybe I need to sleep on it for a while. So a nap is sounding pretty good right now.

First day of the new career. I removed, cleaned, and replaced 2 carburetors. Removed 2 old tires and installed 2 new tires. Took apart a left front axle on a side by side and reinstalled everything after the boss repaired the drive shaft. Helped wore a winch on a utility vehicle. Removed and replaced the rear half shaft axles on the previously mentioned aide by side, noticed the brake pads were bad and replaced them. Cleaned the mess we made i the shop, helped deliver a repaired vehicle to the customers home. Not a bad day at all. Looking forward to tomorrow.

I think you just did more auto repair in one day than I've done in my entire life.

Amish, I'm very sorry about your Mom. I hope she's not in pain. Also hope the bbq goes well.

Magus, that sounds delicious! We used to grow spagetti squash. We had some really big butternut squash too. Wish I knew where the seeds were. They were delicious too.

gloryroad, I hope you can file a complaint with e-bay about the seller being deceptive. Lying about location is a sign that they are likely planning to screw people out of their $. I was lucky that my last few e-bay purhases were all from the US and arrived quickly.

Rusty, I don't blame you on the family reunion thing. I do care about my extended family but traveling sucks.

Got up and putzed around in my bathroom trying to figure out how to deal with gaps on trim. Cleaned adhesive off with mineral spirits. Scraped thinset off of the exposed L-bead trim with the back side of a chisel. Filled in some ugly gaps using the scrap tear-away strips from the L-bead trim. Met with my friend to put gas in his car and spot him some $ (he's going to come out this weekend to help finish up the bathroom). Went to samsclub to get water & groceries. Popped in to Lowes to get more pvc trim. Got home and put stuff away & dissected some rotisserie chickens. Took pics of my mirabilis jalapa (aka 4 o'clock flowers) and am now resting with a heated massage pad on my back.

I like to spray pumpkin and squash seeds with a bit of olive oil, thinned with everclear whiskey and toast them, the alcohol evaporates leaving the seasonings and oil intact for some neat snacks! dropping some garlic or hot pepper into the liquor a few weeks before you use it gives them a zing! I wonder what the hidden valley ranch mix would do?

Oh boy, long day. All is quiet now. Mom got to go home after lunch from the hospital, and doesn't even remember being there. I talked to the head of nursing where she lives to make sure they are offering her nitro when she complains of chest pain. Everyone and their dog complains that I won't do a DNR for her. Sorry, nope.
Had a big barbeque with two of our amish farm neighbors and their young children, my cousin Harry Wayne, an older amish widow, my cousin Wanda, an english cousin single older lady, our daughter, and the couple from New Mexico. Great food...neighbor brought the homemade ice cream and pies, another brought the cake and deviled eggs. We did ribs and tri tip and salads. Our new Mexico friends have now decided to stay on an extra day and want to do something with us tomorrow...so I guess so. I wasn't sure how comfortable the wife was, because I said our neighbors and a couple of cousins were coming for dinner and I didn't say that most were amish. She was super quiet, but I guess did ok. He's an ex navy seal, a big guy...had to tell him to leave the table with his plate and go eat with the men. The women were at the table. He asked me if I was joking, and I said, "nope", "go". He did. Ha. So one neighbor will be taking a few of the kittens tomorrow. I'm setting up the other with some chickens next week, that should start laying in a month or so. We had a lively discussion about Lowes and their drag queen story time. Daughter is on her way to Iowa, left after dessert, and will drive a third of the way so it won't be so much of a drive tomorrow.

Hang in there, Amish Heart! It takes a STRONG person to do all that you've done, and I recognize that STRENGTH!!! :D

When I was falsely charged multiple times, just for trying to expose the corruption in ****, some really cute young gal told me that I had been "chosen" for this ugly battle, just because I was tough enough to deal with it, aye?

So HANG IN THERE, Amish Heart, you are ONE TOUGH HOMESTEADER, and I honor you, and SALUTE YOU!!! :)

Trip to the big town, mongolian beef for lunch. Got a badly needed haircut then groceries, refilling some areas in my pantry that had gotten low. Stopped at the little mom n pop produce market. Now it’s the daughters shop and she cut back a lot of the items they once sold. Slow moving items mostly, some overhead. The quality of veggies and fruit hasn’t changed. Might have fewer choices but it’s still the best produce in town.

Got dad and I some peaches and silver queen corn. Fresh, was on the stalk yesterday, very tender, had an ear at supper. Got a great watermelon too first one of the year. Those tips in the ‘choosing a melon’ thread work every time.

Bad year for peaches though. We had a freeze here while peaches were blooming, 3 nights. The lady at the market said they can’t get chilton county peaches this year, famous for great peaches. (the peaches dad and I grew were better).

The ones I bought today weren’t very good. I knew dad would want them anyway. When I was a kid we went to chilton county in a pickup. Dad bought enough peaches to fill the truck bed. We dripped peach juice across 4 counties, 🤣 dad loved peaches! When he retired he set out 200 trees, go figure.

That's all you do Urban, lay around the house 😂!! My only day off is today! Will do a couple loads of laundry and some cleaning. Need to do some mowing around the immediate yards. Maybe some foul weather today, looks like most of it will head into east Tx ( and Louisiana 😂)! Bear got me up at 2:30, bad tummy, so I will be napping shortly!

My day started a little early, also. The fellow who helps with trimming branches and digging up roots showed up at 6:45 instead of 8:00. So all that is done.
Then I walked.
Going to Walmart for a couple of items, Dollar General and gas station with DH.
Maybe ebay photos later.
Or maybe pick blackberries although it is pretty hot today for that.

I have a septic system installed in '68. Tank gets pumped every 20yrs plus/minus. I had to replace all the field lines about 2010.

I'm a big believer in Rid-X. It adds bacteria to the system which eat all the, well you get the idea. They just leave liquid which will flow out the field lines. Assuming they aren't blocked by tree roots.

Tree roots will stop a septic system completely.... New field lines will cost about 8-10k. Some of my lines were plugged by tree roots. The others crushed by running heavy farm equipment over them.
Sewage naturally has the organisms need to break down the solids. IMHO Rid-X is a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.
