Gotta run all sorts of errands today because government run places and banks were closed yesterday. Post office, bank, feed stores, library for new dvds, and grocery store. May swing by a tavern for a snack and cold one if I'm still in town for happy hour. Trying to keep everyone hydrated and cool with our heat warnings. No different than this time any other year though 🤷‍♀️ I see ice cold mixed beverage in my future this evening.

Today has been a busy day for me. I've been working hard in the barn, putting up new plywood panels. While I was working, there was a strong thunderstorm in the area. It was pretty intense, but I was able to keep working through it. Now that I'm done, I can relax and enjoy the sound of the rain. It's always nice to get some work done, especially when it's something as important as keeping the barn in good shape.

Went to check on the progress on my truck today. New top is on supposed to paint tomorrow.

I went to cut some weeds but my cutter ran out of battery. Currently charging it. Took out the kitchen trash. Need to clean up some of the overflow from when my back wasn't cooperating to take it out. Need to change litterboxes again and check hvac filter. Waiting on Fedex delivery.

Looks like its going to rain so it might cool off a bit, which will be a relief. Other than that, I'm resting today. Waiting on a shower arm extender from Amazon. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. Air fryer is allegedly coming today. Driver claimed he couldn't find the address yesterday.

I have to figure out to support the center when the cage is open. I have some thinking to do.

We were going to the DMV in our county to get the tags for the new vehicle, but they were closed Last week, their computers were down, this week, they are closed until Thursday....so I called the next county over and got nowhere. "all lines are busy please call back later"
Sheep did not cooperate this morning ( some went from barn to pasture, some ran away and didn't want to go in) . Then they all stood at the fence in the pouring rain looking sad. I just ignored them, they made me mad today. Eventually the group in the pasture went away from the fence probably to stand in the shelter at the bottom, and the other ones now wanted in also, so I let them in. Stupid sheep
If it doesn't warm up any by Friday, I will have to make a fire in the kitchen again so my bread dough will rise. This is the coldest it has been here in June since we moved here. I don't want 90 degrees but I don't want 60 in summer either

Uh oh, @Pearl is rubbing off on you 😁

Chilly here! High today has been 66* - strange considering some of you are under heat advisory. We had that a couple years ago though.
Picked first round of green beans this morning.
I can almost see my desk again :p
Got the Ford back with new transmission, turbo gasket and up-pipe kit. 😣 Runs better than it has since we've had it (< 1 yr.).
Keep preppin' y'all.

That's not so bad, given the wages... I remember when some crazy fools in high-dollar jobs were commuting from **** (San Diego) to Los Angeles every day, ugh. Some rode the train... but then ya gotta deal with transport at the other end. Meh, I'm thinking your area isn't as crowded as L.A., so it's just a factor of time, making the commute. 😒

Wrapping up a 6-hour day here, I was a home rehabbin' fool, lol... but I knocked out some tasks, as you'll soon see in my kitchen renovation thread, aye? This work isn't as tough as workin' on the railroad, but I'll be glad when all the ladder and countertop work is done, lol. I'm very pleased with my progress so far in this kitchen reno project...

After work today I planted a few seeds.

Then I got on the computer and looked (day dreamed) at properties that could be a homestead. I would love to be able to have a real garden or raise a few animals. Heck, I don't have enough room here to raise rabbits...

I need to figure out how to keep the local critters out of my raised beds

Binx the community cat did well in surgery, they treated him for fleas and worms so I owe em 20 bucks :)

Most likely the only vet he has ever seen.

Pickup tomorrow at 7:30 AM.
20$!!? Is he related to you or something? our vet hit me for 100$+ back about 25 years ago for two!

We went to little granddaughter's swim lessons, to Atwoods for feed (40lb bags since I pulled my leg muscle) and to husband's allergy shots. Boy it was a hot afternoon. I went into our little town in the afternoon to our feedstore for fly bags. The flies are pretty bad right now, and they like to swarm the animal runs. Also went to the amish discount grocery and picked up a few things for storage. More beets out of the freeze dryer, and more put in. After dinner, the weather was tolerable, so husband rode the road on his bigger scooter, I weeded the garden, and little granddaughter played with the kitten in the potato patch. Kitten thought she was in the jungle. Our across the road neighbor is harvesting winter wheat today, and was still going stron when I went in at dark. The amish lad who does the main yard mowing came by this morning and got all our huge branches sawed up and moved, the ones that came down in the last storm. He was helping his dad harvest their 100 acres of wheat this afternoon and evening. There's lots and lots everywhere around us, but it sure was short this year because of lack of moisture, so straw will be minimal. My cousin came by this morning and baled the first cutting of alfalfa in our field.

Binx might not think so, but he is very lucky! Don't you worry about what will happen to those kitties when you move??😮

Of course we worry, but the neighbor might step up when we offer to subsidize the kids.

My hobby is worrying about **** I have no control over.

Probably not moving, our offer was not accepted. I can buy Lori a car with better mileage with the savings :p

Getting quotes on entry doors now, then windows, then a bathroom, then I won't have to move :)

Mom came home from the hosp. No stroke… has issues, not all physical. Got a lot done today, my head was clear. When it happens I have go til I can’t. But, got 3lds of laundry done and worked on the truck a bit. Topped off fluids and took a leaf blower to the engine compartment. 3 big water oaks in my yard, has small leaves that get into everything, even under the hood.

Then I cleaned out the inside, it was nasty. Even brought out the big shopvac, got all the carpet, seats, nooks and crannies too. I bought new floor mats yesterday, couldn’t put them on dirty carpet! Put a can of spot carpet cleaner on my grocery list. Couple spots need some tlc.

Found out the O2 sensor I need is twice the price I thought, 4 of them on the truck. Unsure if I should replace just the one with an issue or all of them, don’t want to crawl under the truck twice. 245Kmiles, but its a big chunk of cash on top of a tune up and tires. Still don't know about the coil pack replacement.

Anyway, it was a good day and I had enough energy left to cook dinner… then I was toast. Darn it! Several times today I reminded myself of something I need to order off the net, gonna do it tonight. Now I can’t remember what it was!!! Mind stopped working...

An oak in my yard late one fall... with tiny leaves.

Good news about your mom, @Peanut was keeping her in my thoughts and prayers if you don't mind. Glad you were able to get stuff done around the house. Next Monday my tension rods in the washer will be replaced. Got tired of fighting the washer and am at the point where I only do laundry when I need it done. It has been piling up. :(
How many acres of alfalfa do you grow, @Amish Heart ? Do you sell some of it?
Round 3 tomorrow for the heat, woohoo. It is 90° right now, after midnight.
