Very busy, yesterday. Mostly at Church and with organizing Church stuff.

Walked first, this morning.
Going to help my friend in town for a couple of hours this morning.
Prepping carrots, sweet potatoes and hamburger meat for making dog food later this afternoon. It will cook overnight and get pressure canned tomorrow.
Need to pick jalapenos today and maybe weed at Church flower bed.

Gonna try to finish the kitchen today... gotta get motivated first, this outdoor heat is raggin' me out, it was hot at 0800 out there. I've been getting up early to water before the wasps show up in force, and before the heat gets too bad... the wasp problem eased there for awhile, now it seems like there are more of 'em. I wish these idiot neighbors would take better care of their property. I remember meeting a classic old man in Show Low, he told me he bought 80 acres and built a home right in the middle of the parcel, just so he and his wife wouldn't have any stupid neighbors, lol. If I had more money, that is exactly what I would do, yeah? Sounds like friggin' PARADISE!!! ;)

Apparently I'm sick. I feel miserable. I've had a very sore throat all week that I thought was just a throat rock that I sometimes get with my allergies. Wrong. Yesterday I started coughing and now I'm hacking junk up from my lungs  sleeper bronchitis maybe? Ick. I'll find the thermometer in a bit and see if I have a temperature or not. Today will probably be a basic chores, soup and couch day. May steam in a hot bath with some eucalyptus later too.

Taped the hell out of the shower area and put up plastic to protect stuff
I got the primer on and did touch-ups early this morning. It dries fast. Got woken up by Fedex calling before 8am over a package they lost last week.
Had a salad. Cooked breakfast for Mom.
Set up and filled a new waterer for the dogs (cap for the old one disappeared).
Went down to the workshop to get the paint and slathered it on.
Washed the brush.
Now waiting for it to dry so I can remove the tape and do any necessary cleanup. I need to figure out where to store the tools and stuff.
Currently resting with Rupert sitting on me.

Got Jake up at 5am and out the door at 6 off to his new job.

Outside stuff done this morning, and the amish lad came by and helped set up a 30 ft by 10 ft chain link "turkey" run. Little granddaughter helped (begrudgingly) but they were laughing with each other when all was done. I'll get them to work on the top and the ground wire another day. Daughter arriving from Tucson around dinnertime, son arriving from Albuquerque (via train) around 2 am, but daughter said she'd go fetch them. Husband's breathing is very bad today. We have our infusion schedule again. Glad they are coming to be with their dad. I have some cooking and cleaning to do before this evening. And another run into the bigger town for an rx that finally came in.

Strated the work to get the hugelkultures on The Ridge ready for planting in the fall.

Next step is to weed whack and deploy landscape fabric. Snacked on wild strawberries while I was there. Most of the pear trees have hanging fruit. The ild apple tree has a lot of fruit but none of trees I planted.

I plan to bring The Princess up there after she finishes work for the day.

Well, I got sidetracked today by the stout wooden floor patch under the fridge... forgot about having to put down those adhesive vinyl strips, lol. Meh, made progress overall, not done yet, now it's BEER-THIRTY so to heck with it, lol. I have until mid-September or October to finish this stupid kitchen renovation project, since I'm taking a break for the summer. It'll be done soon enough, then I'll decorate it, which should be a whole lot more fun than this stupid home rehab BS, lol. I keep tellin' myself I'm boosting the value of my home, but it's a tough sell in this high desert heat, A/C or no A/C, lol.

Which reminds me, I went out to top off the birdbaths with a gallon jug of water (3 trips), and I noticed some squash and melon plants struggling in the heat, so I briefly turned the valve for the garden hose to give the plants some water... that water which came out of the hose must have been the temperature of the sun, lol. I'm talking SCALDING HOT, nearly BOILING, it was crazy! I had to let it fly toward the nearest pine tree so I didn't kill the younger plants, and once the temp dropped to a reasonable level I gave the plants some water. Jeez, that hose water was HOT!!! I mean A-BOILIN'!!! 🥵

Beer-thirty! LOL.
For me I think it's Nap-thirty.
Hope the kitchen reno will go well.
Yikes about hot water coming out of the hose. My cold water has been coming out warm but not hot. It didn't scald you did it?

Cleaned out my tub. Will need to clean up the rest of the bathroom later. For now I should be able to take a shower once all the paint and caulk cures.

Need to do some laundry but I'm procrastinating.

Actually, it DID scald my fingers as I was checking the water temp... but no lasting damage was done, and this cold beer tastes pretty darned good, lol. Grabbing this cold beer outta the fridge helped cool the burn: redneck first aid, you understand, lol. The kitchen project will be done in another day or two, not counting decoration, I'm gonna take my sweet time with that and install the ceramic lighthouse plates & tile art pieces exactly how I want 'em, lol. 🤔

I have a hard time not doing things so even sick I couldn't just lay on the couch. So I put a dvd in the laptop and put another coat of oil on the saddle in the living room. I'll finish letting it soak in then I'll put some conditioner on it after I do animal chores.

You realize stress nails the immune system right? Not that you’ve had any stress during the past several weeks 🙄. Take it easy and maybe chug some extra vitamins 💕
@Wingnut did you get your 10% of rain? Hope you get a break from the heat soon.
@UrbanHunter when do you sleep? Or don’t you?
@zannej you’ve spent a lot of time and effort in on that bathroom- enjoy that first shower 🚿

So another hot day 98*. Had to leave home 3 times today! In case you’re unaware, I don’t like leaving home once. Got lawn mowed this morning then out to do errands. Apricots were being picked so weren’t there until afternoon. Got a load of laundry 🧺 done and on the line and was getting green beans ready for the canner. Then back to pick up apricots and home via the creamery so we could have whole milk from the dairy. Back home continued on green beans when Hubby called and I needed to print and sign a doc and get it scanned and submitted today. No problem. Went to print it- out of ink 🙄 Ran to WM for ink and back home and got it done. Was finally able to get the green beans in the canner and dishes done. Now sitting!

On this day, we decided to embark on a thrift store shopping spree, acquiring a total of six storage containers made from plastic material. Initially, I anticipated precipitation, yet to my surprise, the weather intensified, soaring up to a scorching 105 degrees. Consequently, I must tend to my corn crop and provide it with the necessary irrigation. As for tomorrow's agenda, I have plans to build customized planters for my wife.

What state are you in? 105 is toasty!

Wingnut, there's an ER tech on Youtube who likes to remind people that if you get a burn you need to put the burn under cool water for at least 5min. If something is too cold it can make things worse. I hope the fingers heal quickly.

LadyLocust, thanks! I'm trying to be patient because I still have to wait for everything to cure. Plus I don't have any shampoo or body wash over here. Have to get it from friend's house. As well as pick up some of my bath sheets from over there. When his ex was there my bath sheets kept disappearing. Pretty sure it was her family coming over and stealing them.

Guts are giving me trouble again. Not sure if its post-nasal drip or reaction to the metformin or a combo of both.
