I went to the big town for groceries and errands yesterday, always takes a big toll on me. I forgot what time the barber shop closed so I still need a haircut. I bought a small watermelon at the pricey supermarket. It was really good, I’ll finish it tomorrow. I also got a good cantaloupe, I have it peeled and sliced in the fridge. I gave half of it to my dad. While there I stopped at the good BBQ joint and had a rib sandwich for supper… so good. Before leaving I bought a pound of slice meat for sandwiches. I know what I’ll be having for dinner for the next few.

By the time I got home I was completely exhausted… Napped through the night finally went to sleep around 5am, slept til 11am.

I’ve just rested today, catching up on “notables” in 8chan… the anons dig up some interesting things.

The vision in my right eye has gotten so bad it’s affecting what I can do in the house so I’m in a holding pattern until my surgery in Oct.

Big day today in the mountain cottage where we started the morning off with DH cleaning the benches and washing the dishes and I wiped them and put them away.

Then into town we went to pick up our $519 grocery order, packed it in store and bought it home. Sat down and had lunch and continued to date, rotate stocks and put them away. We discovered we were one down on our freezer bags and they had given us the wrong smoked oysters as well so we had to go back into town to pick up the right oysters and the extra freezer bags as well.

Wasn't all bad because we found they had an in store special on strawberries for $1.00 per 250 g punnet so we purchased 10 of them and coupled this with another 5% off using our roadside assist club bringing our purchase price down to .95c per punnet. This is an unheard of low price for around here and we will make jam and freeze some chopped up for desserts too.

DH's back in cactus and he has taken some pretty heavy pain medication and is asleep as we speak. I am not tired yet so will stay up for a while.

Dinner tonight was homemade pizza.

Well, deep subject I know.
I finally made it to the laundry room with my rolling cart of laundry.
Had to clean up mess next before last, home canned peaches exploded in kitchen cabinet.
Glass and peaches everywhere.
Course not supposed to get on ladder.
Paid the neighbor kid $20 bucks to help me.
He's 6ft 6 inches, I on the other hand is 5 ft 5 inches.
He took all the funny colored peaches in boxes to the dumpster.
What a mess!
He also helped me load my every three month food donation box for the food pantry at the church.
Another nice young man unloaded it for me at the church.
Told them I would see them again in three months.
When my mother cleans out her and dad's kitchen cabinets( indoor and outdoor kitchens).

Today I decided not to wait around for people who do not have time for me. And not to waste time on Facebook. I gave up television over 20 years ago for the same reason and here I am doing the same on Facebook. So today, I wrote a new blog post instead, which I hadn't gotten one done in a couple of weeks because of the wasting time thing.

I cleaned my bunny's cage and see that yesterday I was having one of those......moments (I refuse to call myself a senior) and when I put his pads in his box, I usually put newspapers on them and then his bedding hay, but forgot the newspapers. So the pads all had to be replaced. I can usually make them last by refolding them different way and turning them from side to side. Not if there is no newspaper though.

Now I am making a pork tenderloin in my Instant Pot to take to my month potluck dinner downstairs in the tenants' lounge. We do this once a month. Everyone brings something and it is so much fun and a good way to get to know your neighbors. Not everyone who lives in the building comes but for those of us who do, we have lots of fun and lots of laughing. A few of the ladies, have lived here for years. The two across the hall have been here more than 20 years and the one upstairs who is turning 94 next month said 25 years years or more and I met another one who also has been here since it first opened. She said it isn't as good as it was back then. I don't know because I love it the way it is right now.

Well off to fix the pork and take a shower. Have great day everyone !

Today has been an eBay day, mostly! I walk 30 minutes every morning but today I determined that I am not coordinated enough to be a good candidate for Zumba. LOL Walkaerobics is more my speed, so I did one of those videos. Also boiled a dozen eggs for deviled eggs to take to Church Sunday afternoon.

They are having a pet adoption event at TSC tomorrow. We are still looking for a third dog so I'll be going to that. And grocery store for DH. Plus exercise video and eBay photos.

Am pretty much worn out from messes I have been dealing with lately.
3 days ago about lost Strawberry. She's my girl. But the vet and I pulled her through.
Then the peaches mess. Then had unexpected company with 2 extra little girls under the age of 4 in my house yesterday.
But Estelle shared her toys like a champ. And the other children didn't stay too long. Whew!
Their grandma is a stayer. But thankfully Estelle wanted a nap.
The vet thinks Strawberry got hold of some of the bandages that I had cleaned from the scar on my left knee.
I didn't think, just threw them in bathroom trash like always. Now they go in ziplock bag, then into the pantry trashcan.
So she can't get to them. Dr. Cathy thinks some of residual bacterial infection was on those bandages.
Strawberry was a very sick girl. I feel like an idiot. For not thinking about those bandages being still cantigous.
Hope everyone feels better soon.
Those with bad headaches, I personally feel your pain. I unfortunately suffer from migraines.
Think I'm going to wait a day or two before I set off with last load of bed linens to be washed.
Was pretty tired last night. Strawberry slept with me most of the night like she was comforting me.
Then about 10:30 she sighed, got up and went to her nice, new, cleaned and santized bed.
She slept there till morning. Got woke up with good morning slurp from her this morning.
She's sleeping on my bed now, thinking about joining her for a bit.

I'm so glad Strawberry is ok! Don't know if I would have considered the bandages, either. I hope everyone feels better tomorrow and has a good relaxing day!

I made deviled eggs for Church tomorrow and took the to their fridge so some of them don't get eaten here. Other than that I did very little today. I felt guilty watching tv during the day because I rarely do that. Tomorrow is Church (and the after party. LOL) Probably no Church tomorrow night because of the late afternoon gig.

sorry about strawberry, hope everything is better tomorrow. we have been prepping and canning all day ,and hubby brings me in some more okre. will put that on the dehydrator tomorrow, because i still have pears and taters to do . thank goodness one more picking of the maters and those will be over for this season.i am very thankful that we got as much as we did with hubby being sick, and me working and trying to take care of garden also. that being said who really has time to not do something on a homestead? not us.

It seems like the job is never ending with produce. Not dealing with that right now, cuz we're not home! Had a great day today with Yoder Heritage day. We are wiped out. Started out with the early morning pancake breakfast, then the parade, then shopping, lunch, and the quilt auction. Came back to our place for a cool down and rest and then returned for supper and fireworks. A fun day.

Yesterday we washed, chopped and bagged 2.5 kg of strawberries into 500 g lots for jam making and desserts and put 4 bags them in the freezer and kept the other 500 g out for desserts for last night and tonight. We also picked 1.3 kg of broccoli from the gardens and washed, blanched and froze 13 bags for meals for the freezer and then picked a bunch of silver beet from the gardens. We also went to town and picked up 10 more punnets of strawberries and 3 packets of Jamsetta.

I deep cleaned the bathroom and toilet for the week and then went to a cheese making activity at church for a few hours.

Today we went to church in the morning and came home early because DH's back was playing up due to the heavy rain we have had here. We have had near on 5 mm of rain over the last 2 days :clapping: but still not anywhere near enough to break our drought but it all helps and has filled our rain water tanks higher than they were before but not quite to full capacity. Got home and went through our perpetual shopping list and wiped off all of the things we purchased last week so we can start afresh.

Apart from that resting the rest of the day today.

Bella treed a opossum this morning and was going crazy over it lol Never seen her so worked up over something. Hubby shot it and got rid of the body.

I'm doing laundry and hubby is putting some vinyl siding on part of the house at the back porch.
Next week he says he's taking off and replacing the old siding on the house to the new vinyl. Hopefully he get the whole front done.

I have to figure out what to make for supper *sigh*

I was checking out the latest Lowe's sale paper and fell in like with a gas stove lol
A Samsung 5 burner stove with the middle burner an oblong one for griddles

Of course my old one works just fine so I don't plan on replacing it any time soon but I really like the oblong burner. It would be so much easier to use my rectangular griddle instead of my round one all the time

Yesterday the stuff for the chainsaw came in the mail, tried to get it going but no luck,I need a real super long pair of needle nose pliers to pull the fuel line through the hole in the gas tank,so I ordered a pair. I've been trying for 2 weeks to get the thing fixed and it's getting really aggravating.
Today I mowed the yard, nothing worse than spending 3 hours in the hot sun, come on winter!!!

Our local 4-H has a "booth" at our local festival. They roast chilies as the yearly fund raiser and the kids bag and sell them after the roasting. Trying to decide if I'm going to let the kid go. She went for about 45 minutes yesterday and was ok but is really tired today. I may go with out her which is going to tick her off.

Nothing, absolutely nothing.
My left hip and right knee hurt.
Still getting used to walking on my left knee properly.
Did light exercise chair yoga this morning, early afternoon maybe this evening too.
Did so light stretching exercises too.
Hopefully will start up Physical Therapy this week too.
Supper will be melted cheese, sauteed jumbo shrimp, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese salad.
Otherwise it's leftover pizza again.
Everybody have a good day, evening and night.
