Yesterday I spoke to the lady with crossvine in her yard. She wants me to come up there sunday afternoon. I’d hoped for today or tomorrow, 2-birds. I have to drive through the big town on the way to her house. Could shop on the way home. The one thing I really needed… that business is closed sunday so I had to go today, carp!

Uneventful, 6 stops… last stops were to get cash at the bank then critter feed. I couldn’t find my wallet! Had to go thru my stops in my head, nope, never touched my wallet. Paid cash everywhere. But didn’t want to leave town until I was sure…

Called dad, he went in my house and checked. My wallet was still on my kitchen table. At least it was safe. Guess I’ll have to hit the atm and get critter feed Sunday afternoon.

It started raining on the way home, rained more after I got home. Guess it was a good thing I didn’t have several hundred pounds of feed in my truck bed.

Got sliced pork at the bbq joint in town so I don’t have to cook dinner. Just gonna watch some tv later. :)

Took the day off. Daughter and grandsons coming in from Missouri. I should have just worked today. Have already talked to five different employees. Went to pick up a few things from Walking Mart. Between people on motorized carts and the the grocery pickers couldn't even move through the store.Glad I only need a couple of things.
I did some grocery shopping today at a local store. It was PACKED with people. Check out lines were very long. Even traffic was crazy. Then I realized it was Friday before Labor Day weekend.
Glad you get to have your surgery. :) Prayers for it to be boring for the doc. and easy and speedy for you and your recovery.
I don’t think there will be any glitches in my surgery. 🙏🙏

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs @Bacpacker !

I’m still canning my sauce. Had it full to the top of that roaster and it hardly reduced. So canning purée, just waiting in the canner to come up to pressure. Twenty pints. Not too shabby.

while waiting for the sauce to reduce I washed 7 skeins of yarn I had spun over the past year. Still have about 4 more.

Ugh! One jar too many preventing that thingy in the backside of the lid from popping up. Starting over. Lesson learned. Now tomorrow I get to process five jars instead of four that didn’t fit.

Binge-watched seasons 1 & 2 of Star Trek: Picard.

Cleaned litterboxes.

Cleaned up the living room (brother actually helped but man did he whine a lot the entire time).

Went to Walmart to get Mom's RX and some groceries. Forgot to get the RX.

Got a 12qt dishpan and a 5-10 gallon fishtank filter/pump. Put the 2 together to make a larger waterer for the kitties. The water came out of the tap brownish (iron sediment) and within 30min it is now clear. Wish I could figure out a way to have it automatically refill with water, but that would require running another waterline up somewhere and setting up a float or something. Hopefully I can keep up with refiling it.

Cooked yellow rice and then heated up some shrimp scampi for Mom.

I'm about to take a nap.

Happy 39th @Bacpacker.
We have an anniversary this month, number 53.
We'll be camping on that day. Might go to a really good seafood place in Seaside, OR. since we'll be in the neighborhood.
I might try to talk her into going to my favorite sandwich place in Seaside.
They have the best hot pastrami sandwiches this side of the Mississippi River.
They steam it like it should be cooked.

Well Happy Gettin Hitched Day Backlash. Sounds like some good food for sure.

I've done four days working in Pueblo, Colorado. Got two more to go. 3 of the four days were hot as hell, but it rained the 2nd night and that day was cooler. The rain knocked the dust down for a day too, which I was grateful for. The dirt here is like flour, and anything moving on it kicks up clouds that will choke a person. When I get back to the hotel I'm covered in a dark gray mess.

I apparently overdid it in the gym a few weeks ago. I was doing some deadlifts and tweaked something in my left arm. It feels a lot like tennis elbow, but my last two fingers on my left hand feel it too, and there's pain above my elbow. Not sure what's going on, but naproxen kills the pain very well. If it persists I may have to see my friendly neighborhood healthcare professional. I'm having a hard time swinging the sledgehammer at work.

Stay safe in the heat, everybody...

In the meantime, if you want to try something our chiropractor/neurologist showed me. If it’s your left hand/arm, relax that one, then using your right hand grip your left from over the top so your thumb can press into the muscles going up your forearm. Sounds a little silly, but when you hit the tight one, you’ll know. Keep pressure on it until the rush/zing subsides. Can feel the difference quite quickly.

Cooked a couple of pumpkins I grew this afternoon. Tried again roasting a bucket of tomatoes. This time I used a metal pan instead of a glass one and it went well. Made a gallon of pasta sauce out of that, and threw it in the freezer. No doc appts for the next three days, hooray! Little granddaughter has a birthday party to go to tomorrow in the bigger town, at a skating rink. And I'll need to get to the post office tomorrow...it's only open an hr on Saturdays.

Happy 53 to both of you!!♥️

Daughter and grandkids made it here from Missouri. One of the grandsons always wants taco soup. Made a huge batch, still too hot for me to eat soup. It was really good. Those boys can put away some food 14 and 16. Both of them are 6 feet tall, but are running around playing hide and seek. Haven't been on their phones at all. They lived with us for about 2 years, I our house brings back memories.

had cheeseburgers out with son and his beautiful wife. i so wish i could post photos but he's fixin' to do some awesome stuff with his career. Cracks me up, they could pass for siblings, so could two other sons with their wives. Yet somehow you can tell my sons are siblings from same parents. 🤷‍♀️
Happy gettin' hitched day, @Bacpacker and lovely wife! Sounds like a great weekend.

Happy Anniversary to Bacpacker and Backlash!
Not sure what's going on,
I hope it works itself out without intervention!
her alarm clock went off at 6 am, that can't bode well.
Yikes! I woke up at 4 without an alarm.

Will walk first.
Make a baked jalapeno popper dip.
Make baked beans.
Grill burgers, chops, brats and hot dogs.
Pick up my friend so she can eat with us. Have another couple of people coming over, too.
Take my friend home and drop off a plate for a couple of shut in folks.
Get everything put away and rest.

The critters let me sleep until 5am😃😃😃! Off today, list a mile long. Fixing to head outside to feed and groom Buddy. Will clean his water trough and Bear's pool. Washing the vehicles later, that little bit of rain the other day was dirty! Good ol' Texas mud rain! Laundry is started. Need to trim Bear's nails and vacuum! At some point I 'll make breakfast and cut up peppers, onions, and celery to freeze! Nap and pool time later!!

Got most of what I wanted done yesterday. Today I'll finish wiring the solar panels and mount the new charge controller in the generator building. One of the parts they sent me was the wrong one, so I had to modify it. I'll split some more firewood this morning, then start digging the trench for the conduit. I'm only going to dig about 40' by hand then I'll call out an excavator to dig the rest, about 200' total. High temp yesterday was 68 degs.
I went ahead and made an appointment with the surgeon yesterday to check my hips, knees and shoulder. I feel pretty good up until around noon then the pain is so bad I can hardly walk or stand up straight. Something isn't right. I still work through it, but it's getting harder every day. My appointment isn't until October. If he recommends surgery it'll probably have to wait until spring, depending on expected recovery time.

Wonder if it's your back? Sciatica? I deal with that, absolutely horrible some times. My job is very physical, pretty rough sometimes!

Went shopping this morning, the wife had some things on the list that I couldn't find yesterday. To control salt she wants us to start roasting and cutting our own lunch meats to further reduce salt. I found a source for eye of round, boneless turkey breasts, and pork roasts that delivers. So I ordered a meat slicer today, I need to make a place on my food storage shelves for when it is not in use.

Yesterday I finished setting up the new inverter (Adding solar to an old on grid homestead) and am now in the shake down phase. We got some veggies that will need to be washed in vinegar, we have found that by washing thing like cauliflower and strawberries in vinegar they last more than a week longer in the fridge... There is so much work I need to get done but there is never enough time.

I suppose that's possible, but it feels like the pain is in the hip. We don't have a doctor here in town to check it out, which is why I made the appointment with the specialist in another town. About 10 years ago I was told my knees needed replacement. I'll get it all checked out and see.

I hope that you can get some relief. I have pain just above the belt line, but as long as I can keep going I'm going to try to ignore it. My experience with Doctors is that they keep finding more things that they want to FIX...

That is the problem. I generally delay going as long as possible. But the pain is getting to the point that it's hard to ignore any more, or hide from the wife. The thing is, the work doesn't get done by itself around here.

Didn’t finish the canning until 11 pm last night. Luckily my dog only gets up when I get up so we slept until 7:30. Made coffee and went next door to dad to see how many jars didn’t seal. All sealed. Woohoo! I have 5 pints that I couldn’t get to last night so in they will go later. Will spend time in the garden. Rest of the day is putter around.

Finishing the edits on a story+artwork for it.
Maybe laundry.
Continuing my search for mini-14 mags.
I might go into lock-down and try a 500MG gummy later.
