Long day for me.
Spent 11 hours in the post-surgery waiting room at the hospital today. DW had scheduled surgery to get the plaque cleaned out of her right carotid artery today. Check-in time was 5am so we left the house at 4:15am this morning .
(Remember, my usual wakeup time is 10am:rolleyes:).
She finally got into her room at 5:30pm.
Everything went fine. Should be able to retrieve her tomorrow:thumbs:.

@jishinsjourney Was it the festival in Humble, TX? What did you think of it? We went to the one in Humble a couple of times. Really enjoyed seeing The Other Brothers act.

I did a test fit of the computer shelf, did some measurements, marked for holes to be drilled in the wall. drilled the holes, and tried to see how the shelf brackets will line up. The board on the wall is a bit warped so I may have to shim at the bottoms, but it's not a big deal. So long as the brackets support the shelf, it should be ok.
I need a nap but my brain is all over the place. too tired to do more cleaning but don't know if I can get rested.
Ren fest is in Plantersville

Glad your wife is A OK, Supervisor.
Husband needed to go to the bigger town to pick up prescriptions again today...so 25 minutes in. The pharmacist tech trainee said she got the three that were ready. We get home, and only one in the bag. I did shop the Dollar Tree next door to the pharmacy, but geesh...we have to make the drive in again tomorrow or Friday. I'll combine it with a grocery shop trip so it's not a total waste of time. Husband is very excited to see that our walls are white, at least out of one eye, and not brownish yellow that he was used to seeing. Little granddaughter and neighbor girl are pleased I am back to driving them to school tomorrow. Her mom even called to double check. Negotiating with little granddaughter about how many kittens need to go to the fowl sale on Friday night. I do believe we're up to 12 cats in all, with these 6 kittens. So the deal is, she can keep the one she loves best (named Nacho) and the other 5 are going to the fowl sale for the free kittens area, and then no more cats till she's down to four of them.

Good news! Looks like the calf is finally nursing some! Means I didn't need to milk today. I'm going to keep them close to the house for a few days to keep an eye on them. I'll also keep offering a bottle in case he's not getting enough. I'm glad because my hands need a break.

Not sure what we are doing today. House is mostly cleaned, laundry done, shopping done and weather is nice so animals are still all out in the pasture this week. Next week it is supposed to get very cold and rain so they will go in at least overnight. We do have some projects to do like replace a section of gutter, so maybe doing that today

ABR: glad the calf is doing better!

Everything went fine.
I'm thankful for that!

That's great! I wasn't sure if that would happen or not.

Will walk first this morning.
Start a 7 pound pork butt roast in the crockpot with seasonings. I hope to can some of it! (not today)
Walk dogs.
Take some home grown frozen breaded okra to a friend for a cookout.
Bible study this evening.
I will definitely need more to do today.

Air hose with foil seems to be working fine for DH. I think it will make a fine garland at Christmas!

A totally blown off day: I am dog sitting. I will read or watch TV and the dogs will sleep. Bad day to be stuck inside. This will be the best day of the week.

Had a gentle morning (that means a leisurely coffee and doing chores in pj's) and an odd kind of day, with random stuff popping up.
Bought a new record player that needed the belt to be attached after transportation- it still didn't work. Boxed it up to go back, then realised that's probably what's wrong with my daughter's one- and yes, got the turntable removed and that's all that was wrong. Jimmy Hendrix now getting a turn :) I have an older one in the shed, son No. 2 is going to take a look at it also.
Husband called back to collect some tools he forgot; as we were talking, a kitten dropped out from the van engine belonging to the people who's house he is working at. Spent a while trying to catch it, no luck and it's into the woods now. Decided to cook eggs and sausages for him for lunch while he was home, so he can work on late, and now the day is half over; feel like I've done nothing really productive, yet been busy!

Well I'm off for the week! I managed to put in 2-9s a 13, and a 12, I'm taking 8 hours of leave tomorrow... The makes 40 on the old time sheet! Gubment math ;)

I'm getting ready to start taking down the old tube lights in the basement, I've got the 12 new LED fixtures, some wire so I can change the spacing a little, now all I need are those fancy wire connectors @Neb showed us the other day! They are ordered, just not here yet....

I think I'm learning to hate drop ceilings....

I had to un-winterize the wife's AC unit, 80F today, warmer tomorrow and over the weekend.

I like them.

Today I got to that light install. Removed the plumbing for the old shower.

I elected to use an unorthodox method to mount the 4' LED fixture.

Installed on the wall in the back corner. It provides good lighting to all of the shelves.

The Princess said " very nice" " big improvement". So the wife is happy.

Next project is install the outside outlet so the generator can power the transfer switch. That will be a pain since I have to run conduit through cinder block wall.

I’m back home in Garbage Gardens (aka NJ). Now the fun chore of finding a home for everything that was brought home.

We stopped at an orchard on the way down, near Fonda, New York. Bought a peck each of Winesap, Macoun, Ida Red, and Ruby Jon apples, some Acorn squash, cider and cider donuts. The only produce brought down with us that needs immediate attention is the Lima beans.

My friend was talking to me about how he had a urology appointment today but his back and shoulders were really sore from moving heavy arcade machines around yesterday. I was offering to drive him when he said his power went out (around 9am). Other houses still had power so he called his power company and was told that his bill was due TODAY so they cut his power off. He never received a bill nor a shutoff warning. And he had a credit to his account from doublepaying. He still should have had until end of business today to pay. But no, they shut it off and charged him a reconnect fee. He couldn't afford the reconnect fee. So I went into town and got $ out of my bank & he went to pay it. Took about 20min before they turned the power back on after that.

Before they turned it back on, I asked him to ride with me so I could leave the truck running while I went to the post office and bank. He grabbed a Monster energy drink (or so he thought, guzzled the whole thing down) got in my truck and then realized he grabbed the alcoholic version of the drink (which apparently tastes the same) bc it was dark & he couldn't see. He got tipsy and was giggling and singing and stuff. I took him to McDonalds so he could get food. I insisted on driving him to his appointment bc he's a lightweight and I didn't want him to drive while he still had alcohol in his system.

Drove him to Eunice to the urologist-- rather interesting waiting room. Wood panels, wood beams, indoor shutters, tiny doorknobs, brick floor... Wasn't too long of a wait. Went to Taco Bell after and he bought some Nacho Fries for Mom. She's been wanting to try them for years.

Popped in to Walmart to look for a usb hub & found a sweater jacket with hood & pockets for Mom.

Drove back to town and popped in to say "Hi" to his fiance (who is also a friend). She's a sweetheart.

Gave Mom the fries along with a Diablo packet that said "Sorry Mom". LOL.

I'm about to get something to eat.

Picked more buckets of cherry tomatoes, went into the bigger town to pick up husband's prescriptions, then to Aldi to fill a cart. The checker asked me if I had a big family, I always have a full cart each week. I told her, "Yep", and that I cook three meals a day. She said she just eats out. Met another older woman in the store. Her husband waited in the car and unloaded for her...we were parked next to each other. Said she was 91 yrs old and that they had been married for 70 yrs. Wow!

This morning is a day off, but after 3 days of working on European Time, my internal clock thinks that 02:00 is time to get up... I watched some TV, mapped out any additional parts that I need to finish changing over the lights.
The wife is very anxious about her eye surgery next week, she is having a harder time sleeping than I am...
I got some shallot sets last night, I plan to plant most of them outside once the sun comes up, I did set 6 aside to try to grow in the greenhouse.
