Sorry to hear about the kitties..they are having a bad week I guess.
Well, just to clarify, the guy that died wasnt a co worker..he was on the contract cleaning crew we hired with 7 others. I worked with them most of friday n it was pretty crappy news.
I talked to one of the millwrghts yesterday who responded ..he said it had to have been unbelievably horrific the way he died.
We talked about how comfortable we all get around our work environment and the chances we take sometimes when we shouldn't. Weve all done it..one time or another.
Anyways , it's all under investigation still.
Yesterday, I accomplished alot. I got the garden tilled , I usually put old chicken n goat bedding n turds on top to let it marinate all winter but I might not have time today. I'll probably just throw a bale of straw on top or do a load of old bedding every day untill I cant.
I got alot of crap done tho n today I want to be done by noon if I can swing it. I just got a message we are working tomorrow so I need at least my afternoon to relax n chill..

Safety is one thing you never let your guard down on. Things happen way too often and way too quickly.
Some of the things we do is high risk and the company stresses safety to the point its gets old. Still gotta do it though. I have to admit, some safety topics at work have stuck with me at home and saved gettin hurt a few times

I have been watching tv and making closing gifts for Alexandra. She has a couple of closings coming up this week. I have Alex figure out something the client likes before I make the basket, this one likes Bloody Mary’s.

Another long day in the kitchen. Finished getting the gelled stock into pans to pre freeze for the freeze dryer. Twenty two 1.5 lb pans worth.

I wacked another 12 roosters yesterday, so I got them parted up and into the stock pots with all the veggies and simmering.

Made my secret sticky wing marinating recipe for the wings. They go in the freezer tomorrow.

Sliced up the gizzards & hearts and got them in a Chinese tenderizing marinade and into the freezer.

Diced up all the breasts from the 27 roosters and bagged them for the freezer. When I've got time and some free pans, I will make up a big batch of chicken Indian curry to be freeze dryed.

Three little stewing hens cost $37.00 at the store. I keep telling myself that when I want to quit.

Started my work week today. The public seems to be getting meaner.

It was Dad’s turn to make dinner. All he made was potato pancakes with apple sauce. The potatoes and onions came from my brother’s garden and apple sauce was made with an assortment of the apples we got at the orchard on the way home from the cabin. I had set aside the bruised or less than storage perfect just for this.

Been trying finish up the combing of the white fleece in preparation for spinning. I’ve already spun and plied 1,250 yards and probably have about another 600-700 yards yet.

They aren't banning meat, they are just making it impossible to buy.

A small flank steak which used to be cheap is now running $30.00. Pork is the only thing left that might be manageable for most, but not for much longer.

And..I do put the chicken feet in the stock pot along with the pope's nose. The time of waste is over. I am thankful I have the equipment to deal with large carcasses, even though I want to pack it in. It's a good time to be oldish. Stock piling food for the duration is actually doable.

The price of feed is also nuts, so raising your own isn't going to be easy either.

A nice slow day. Went to church, did some stitching and some cleaning. Homemade pizza for dinner. I’m still on old time waking before 4am so am about brain dead by this time of evening.
I'm on winter time ! Up by or before 4am, usually in bed by 9pm! It's a nice break from the 4-4:30am to 11-12 of summer!! As much as I LOVE summer, I do need the break!!

I drove to Vegas yesterday to watch my son play football for the semi-final football game. They won. Saturday is the championship game for their division in Nevada so it looks like I am heading to Reno to watch the game in person. It is about a 1 hour flight but there are no direct flights from St George, Utah to Reno, only layovers in Phoenix or Denver or Salt Lake City making the "flight" time about 5 hours. Or, I can drive 3 hours to Vegas and fly 1 hour to Reno. The good news is the Reno airport is only about 5 or 10 minutes from downtown Reno and the hotels I am looking at are only 1 mile from the UNR (Reno) football stadium.
A week out there is a slight chance for light rain in the open stadium, looks like I will be packing my rain gear.
I am hopeful, the team they will be playing barely won on Saturday to a team my sons team whooped on a few weeks ago. I am also excited that my son, a sophomore, has been starting on the offensive line for the last half of the season and playing most of the game. 16 years old, about 6'3", 210 pounds, and close to solid muscle. Proud daddy here.

went to a church potluck. actually went to hear a talk by a mother and daughter about their pilgramige to the blessed mary sites around france. Very interesting with all the different mary's over the years starting with escaping after the crusifiction.
and as luck would have it this sunday was potluck day and everyone brought way to much good food...

I slept most of the day and took meds when they wore off. More sleeping. then took microwaves over to friend's house to see if he could fix either of them and maybe use parts from one for the other. Think they both have blown magnatrons though. Older one got tossed in the trash. Newer one is in the truck. Coughed so much when I woke up that now my ribs hurt if I cough. Mostly runny nose and sneezing the rest of the day though. Ugh. I wore a mask around my friend so I wouldn't sneeze on him & I stayed outside.

Got feed for cows at TSC and some 12/2 wiring for friend. He's going to use a little bit of it and then the rest will be used at my house.

Bought a cheap microwave to use so we can heat up soup. Don't think it will fit some of the frozen dinners but we'll see. It's less than half the size of the one that broke.

Scrubbed the counters so the new one would be on a clean surface.

Still feeling cruddy but I've been worse.

Must have been really, really tired. I haven't spun 1,250 yards. I've spun 2,150 yards. That's enough to knit the jacket I want. With the extra, I should be able to knit a hat and gloves also.

No clue what I'm doing. Tentatively I'm hitting some yard sales with my bud, after which my back will go out and I'll be flat for two days.

Spent most of yesterday finishing some knitted gifts. Today we are under an orange storm warning for wind and rain, but have a lot of driving to do. Early start with youngest to the college bus, then home to collect older son for work. Did my cooking for today and tomorrow. The yard is flooded but I've let the hens into the garden; its hammering down, I'll change their bedding tomorrow. Editing an essay before dropping youngest to work and picking up some groceries. By 7 o'clock I aim to be finished all chores and in my PJ's- the nights close in fast now!

did the bathroom yesterday, had some caulking left over so I did the kitchen sink and ran out half way, so now half is white half is clear...oh well, I will do the rest later

Animals taken care of, today I am going to bake some bread for some customers and us, dropping it off tomorrow along with some eggs
Another major shopping trip coming up, probably several since I want to go to Aldi and we need to get grain for the animals which is completely opposite directions
We also planning on going swimming again tomorrow

I take it that Aldi is a store? I've never seen one.

Tommyice, that is a LOT of yarn! I hope the jacket turns out well.

Magpie, knitted gifts are awesome. That is very sweet of you.

Sonya, don't you hate it when you run out of stuff partway through a job? Hopefully you'll get it finished soon.

I've been a mucus factory all night. Couldn't sleep. Tried nasal rinse, nasal mist, blowing my nose, dayquil, etc. No luck. Finally got to sleep this morning only to have the phone ring a few minutes later & wake me up. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper.

I have to go to pick up mail and go to the store to get more cat food. Going to be double masking so if I cough or sneeze it won't fly all over the place and get other people sick. It will also keep me from touching my nose/mouth while I'm in the store. I have a bad habit of that so the masks block that.

Also need to take some tools and stuff over to my friend. He's going to add some outlets to his room.

Going to try to get a nap for a bit if my nose will stop producing mucus long enough to let me doze off.

So some family and a guy that has a plumbing company will be by this afternoon, and we've narrowed it down to water flow to the lagoon, so we'll see about the unplugging of it all this afternoon. Plan on going to visit mom after lunch, it's been awhile. Animal chores took forever...birds where they are not normally, since we cleared out the milk house. Couldn't figure out why the geese were spazzing this morning, and the run of 8 turkeys got out. Their door was open, don't know how, but it was. So 5 toms and 1 hen went back in for treats, after the initial tom threatening to kill me. Left two hens out. Which made the toms mad, so they started beating each other. Figured if one went down, I'd butcher him anyway. Had husband come out with his scooter to run interference in catching the two hens. Caught one, put her back in, that calmed the toms down. One is still pacing the outside of the cage, but I'll have to wait till little granddaughter gets home to help block it. I gave up after 30 minutes. Just took a turkey out of the oven for freezer lunchmeat. Time to make lunch.

Hope the plumbing visit goes well, Amish Heart.

I attempted to nap again. Finally got into a decent sleep and the phone woke me again. A few minutes later Mom called to ask me to cook for her. She apologized when I mentioned how I'd been sleeping but I told her the phone ringing (she said it was a spam call again) woke me up and that getting her food was more important than my nap.

Finally had a nice nap for about an hour and then went over to my friend's house with some tools to cut drywall and a couple of outlets to install. I found a tool for him and stayed out of the way.

Went to Walmart after to get cat food & some groceries. Cut my thumb on the cat food bag somehow while I was loading it into the cart. Got my stuff and got out. Grabbed some Propel for my friend and dropped them off at his house before heading home.

I'm going to see if I can nap again.

Most weekends I take it easy (goof off?). So assembled an angle grinder tool bag. All of the wheels and tools in one box in the bag along with grinder. Grab and go. Battery powered so will work most anywhere.

Moved most of the tools I have used in recent projects got packed up and stowed. Sat down and read half a Algebra work book. I need to brush up on factoring polynomials.

Tomorrow I will install a new corner shower shelf assembly. Then some more tutor time.

Drains to the pond fixed. Hooray! All the young meat chicks back in the milkhouse, dog kennel back in. The last turkey hen that was running around the pasture is now caught and back in with her buddies. Visited mom. She talked my ear off, but didn't make much sense about things. I pushed her in the wheelchair down to the other side of the nursing place to visit her brother, my Uncle Melvin. He'll be 100 in January. He asked me if I got a ring yet. Ha Ha. I showed him my wedding band and told him I got it 40 yrs ago. Listening to him and mom try to have a conversation was entertaining. Paid mom's $10K bill at the manor for the month. Ouch.

Sitting here watching youtube vids with Daughter and just so glad to have her here with me. She drove me to my oral surgery appt today and has been taking good care of her ol' mom. Jaw is achey and bloody yet but I managed a bit of dinner and am sipping on a Vernors, the Michigan answer to any illness. Amazing sunshine and warm weather here today, would have been better spent doing outside chores instead of sitting here with an ice pack on my face, but oh well. I'm sure once it all heals up I'll be much better off without the broken and rotted old tooth anyways.

Hubby and I were both trying to say what a polynomial is so you made me look it up. We were both right just using different words.
