okay Hooch, you tried to fix the man door on the barn, or the main door? I love yall and the typos crack me up.
Sorry you have been feeling so bad lately. You need some anti plague.
I just saw that post..lol..about the anti plague garlic juice.
I had to laugh because I'm trying that garlic lemon juice thing n boy ..its powerful stuff. It's supposed to be like draino for your blood vessels so hopefully it will be worth it.
Oh..the small man door..like a people door into the barn from the side yard. I installed it many years ago and had a feeling I goofed something up n its giving me issues.

I was up till 01:30 checking lights and stuff. This morning I will start the final setup.

We got word yesterday that our son is sick and tested positive for the Vid, he was coming home this weekend for Thanksgiving dinner and to take his mom to a Ballet... Now we are all faced with unpleasant choices... The dinner is almost made and the tickets are purchased...

My gut feeling is to just call the whole thing a bust and go on... But emotions will rule the day, the wife really wants to see our son and he was set on spending time with her....

I'm just going to keep working on my projects and try to not end up in the dog house... But I think that is highly unlikely (avoiding it, that is).

Your wife does not need to get covid! So get in that doghouse!

The snow should be arriving pretty soon here. Company put their corvette in the roundtop. I slept in and everyone else is still asleep, we stayed up pretty late. Animal chores this morning, and planning on maybe some butchering after lunch. And of course, visiting with company. But they've been here since Tuesday.
Several inches of snow???

Snowing heavy now. Expecting 4 to 6 inches today. Not getting above 28 degrees, that'll be our high later. Little granddaughter just went out to walk our old dog, but he'll go back in his kennel in the milkhouse after, and just get walked. I'm sure some sledding will happen today when Levi comes over. Animal chores will be weird today...turkeys usually don't care much about getting wet, but the chickens will stay in their coops and eat in there. My butchering foot nooses are hanging from the covered area outside our big barn, so I may do some meat chickens later. They are way too big. Great weather to keep the meat chilled and resting in an ice chest on the porch. Gonna take some steaks out for dinner. Had a rip roaring game of Apples to Apples with company last night, so I'm sure more games are on for today. Maybe get the record player playing, too.

I did some black Friday shopping on amazon and got some stuff from my wishlist. Some cleaning supplies, home repair stuff, and a blanket.

Ventured to Walmart yesterday bc we were out of milk already. Met up with my friend. Got some throw pillows on clearance that my pets will love. Still have them sitting in the front seat of the truck. Brought in the rest of the water cases before going in. Picked up mail. Fortunately, Walmart has done away with their one day sale bs where they take away all the shopping carts, people pack in like sardines & act like maniacs, etc. Much more mellow, although one of my friends working there said he was feeling really sick- something he ate apparently didn't sit well with him. Got the milk, got something for my friend's daughter for xmas and got him a blanket that was really cheap.

Going to sweep the hallway, change hvac filters and am about to feed the kitties some canned food. Already got up and fed them dried food, but the older cats want their canned food. I've been getting it for Boo ever since he nearly died from some sort of organ infection. Fortunately antibiotics cleared it up. Also need to grab some sweet feed and hay for the cows.

The important thing is, did you catch any fish? And what kind of boat do you have?
We don’t have a boat. Hubby fly-fishes. John (owner of Deschutes Anglers) said yesterday that this is the worst run/season he’s seen in 46 years.
Hubby caught 1 minnow yesterday (trout but little). Steelhead are few and far between- unlike just a few years back. Will see what today brings.
PS for any fishermen who wear waders, Hubby read that the substance used to make gortex is being outlawed by 2025 so will no longer be available and no replacement has yet been identified. Hubby bought a new pair of waders yesterday- not cheap but at least he has them.

What do you call it? The man door 🚪 is a regular sized door as opposed to the big doors for stock or equipment.

Today I need to make pralines and candied pecans to send out to my kids. Yesterday I did nothing but went to PT. Today I have to get something done. Today I’m also going to bake pumpkin bread (a box mix) for church tomorrow morning. I have a list of things I need to do but I never seem to actually do anything on that list.

If you said already, I might have missed it, but are you driving again? Sounds like you are getting around pretty well.
I have a pumpkin to roast when we get home 🏡 then hoping to make some pumpkin nut bread for the guys at work.

Thanks for the head's up about Gortex, might need to get some outer gear before it vanishes!

Quiet day planned, watch some football, just like yesterday. I did some online shopping this week, spent about $350. Got an indoor/outdoor weather station. Decided to step back into the solar world, bought a little solar panel and controller that @zoomzoom recommended. Been looking for a place to start, seemed like a good starter kit. Got a new replacement rain gauge, puppy chewed on my old one. Got a gallon of acetic acid for making vinegar, oh, and 10 sets of guitar strings.

Oh, @Hooch @Patchouli a friend made fermented garlic cloves and honey. I called her this morning to see how she made them. It tastes amazing, great for colds. It's sweet, not harsh, kiddo's love it. But it takes 6-8 weeks to make, maybe for next year.

Anyone remember the name of the fried mashed potato patties, something for left over mashed potatoes. A friend told me this morning about making cream, cheese and mashed potato patties. Sounded like what i've heard @hashbrown and @Bacpacker speak of...

That's too bad about the fishing, and lack of boat. I wonder how many steelhead get caught up in the ***** nets on the Columbia. I used to fly fish out of my drift boat with good success. Maybe I can bring my jet boat down sometime....
My waders are all rubber. I stopped buying anything with Goretex in it years ago because of AlGore.

Got up & went to the store for some stuff. Got more cat litter & some feed for the cows. A really nice cat tree was on sale so I grabbed it to replace one that is falling apart. Started major cleanup in the hallway & kitchen, moved the old broken cat tree on to the kitchen table (too difficult for me to haul out). It fits there and should make the cats happy in that spot. We don't use the table. Was in the middle of cleanup when my broom broke. Now I have to go back to the store and get a new one. Really bummed because that was my favorite broom. Had it for years and it was great.

I heard an announcement on the local classical radio station announcing that there were several options to see the Nutcracker and I thought it would be a good holiday thing to do with a friend. Then I thought, "NOPE!" Not with the current covid uptick!

Got a new broom. Got myself some ice cream to treat myself for doing cleaning & to make myself feel a little better. Also got a sort of push broom with short thick bristles that I hope will help get up some stuff that stuck to the floor. Took some naprosyn & am resting my back a bit before I get back to the cleaning. Still need to assemble the new cat tree-- put the old on the table. Still a ton of trash to clean up. Lots of empty cardboard boxes. Some old pillows that the cats peed/puked on that were covered in roaches & stuffing coming out so I'm tossing those. Had them set up for the cats to sit on and they got ruined. Haven't cleaned under the kitchen table in a few years so its going to suck. Might just get stuff clear in the walking paths for today and then deal with that after.

I might add to it, maybe not. Mainly because of the cat.
