need to finish cleaning today
ended up doing laundry yesterday because it was warm out and we didn't have a fire ( sometimes the laundry smells like smoke if I hang it up and start a fire at the wrong time)
I think I want to go swimming again tomorrow , ,we have to go to town to shop and bank anyway

Already found the recipe for what I will take to fellowship next Sunday-Funeral Potatoes.
Will walk in a few minutes.
Have to see my health insurance lady. I was told that our local hospital is in network, but insurance company says no. Need to change back to original company.
Already have laundry going.
Might decorate porch today, we will see.
May run to town if insurance lady is available. I need about 50 bananas for the mass quantities of Christmas banana bread I will make Thursday.

yeah, in a couple years it will be interesting, the transition from P&G retire insurance to 1 one of us on mediwhatever and the P&G MAP.

Luckily, there are previous voyagers, and a network of knowledge.

I got bumped out of my job in the Twin Cities on Saturday. I bumped back in on a local job 53 miles from home this morning. There's no traveling on this job, and I get to sleep in my own bed at night, but it pays less. I feel fortunate to be able to work though. My employer has cut over 1,000 jobs in my department this fall. I guess a billion dollars of pre-tax profit per quarter isn't enough for our CEO so we have to trim expenses. Hopefully I can hold on here until the bigwigs decide we can put the jobs back on in the spring...

Thought about a press for years... never got one. Mind sharing the make/model you ordered?
My brother built a press. It's for apple cider, but you could probably make some tincture with it...😁

Taking husband to infectious disease for his labs and bandage changes on the midline. Maybe Aldi afterwards, if he is ok with me running in...they are around the corner from each other. In slow mo from lack of sleep...but not as bad as Magus! Magus, you need to get some sleep. Need to get the other chickens butchered ASAP.

I've not slept the past 3 nights - don't usually say much of that here as I'm not even in the same ballpark as a few of ya.

Lack of sleep makes me mental. Hopefully you'll sleep better, Lady L.
Dropped the car off, took husband to his appt, went to Aldi and filled a cart, picked up the car. The mechanic said it "dropped a bead" and should be fine now. Hope so. So finally getting some lunch eaten, drug in all the groceries, put away the frozen stuff. Feet up. Gunsmoke. Coffee and cookies. Doubt that I'll get the chickens done today.

I cleared The Princess' stash of batteries to make a path so I can add another circuit to the manual transfer switch.

It is tight but there is enough room to do the electrical connections.

The Princess use the back basement as her secondary pantry so I have to work clever to avoid having to relocate a lot if stuff.

I am still finalizing my plans to complete that circuit. I don't think I will finish it tomorrow since I am now signed up to tutor both granddaughters in math tomorrow.

One step at a time gets us somewhere.

Today was ‘straighten out mess’ day. I ordered 2 extra sensors for my weather station which arrived last week. I wanted to have a spare but only one extra sensor arrived. Probably some stock guy misread the order. Anyway, a replacement spare is now ordered.

I pay for an internet media service. I paid the yearly fee 2 weeks ago. It wasn't reflected when i logged in. Turns out they just moved where the info is reflected on their website. All is well...

Called about the new highspeed internet I signed up for (isp). Originally I was told the service guy would be here on the 6th. Yet I haven’t received a call or email, nothing, not a word. Well, it’s seems there’s a problem with the new fiber optic cable and my area hasn’t been activated yet. No new date for hookup, they’ll let me know when they have a new date. Not what I wanted to hear but oh well!

Got all the bills paid today, actually sometime late last night. So I checked the accounts this morning and payments had been posted. No worries til next month…

Just watching tv tonight.

Got up and went straight to visit Mom. Made sure to bring her some stuff-- hairbrush, toothbrush kit, good toilet paper, wet wipes, socks, a new sleeping cap, her CPAP, etc. She was most excited about the tp. She didn't like the socks, said the cap was too tight, and didn't like the hairbrush. I guess I'll be returning some of those things. Might give the socks to a friend though. I don't think she'll want the brush, but I can see. I'm going to have to get myself a new sleeping cap because Mom loves the one I put on her. LOL. I got her some hair snaps that she could use to hold it on better and she liked those.

Grabbed food on the way home, went to the post office, went to Walmart to get RX and some food. Grabbed some food for my friend. He wasn't home so I used the code to get in and left it on the counter and told him where it was. Good thing bc he didn't have much to eat tonight. It was rotisserie chicken. He made a gravy with it and had broccoli and something else with it.

Cleaned up a little in the living room, brought in packages & organized some stuff. Dissected two rotisserie chickens. Fed doggies & kitties.

Two days of funeral starting tomorrow afternoon. Husband is wanting to go, so we'll see how he manages at the first visitation time tomorrow afternoon. The second will be far busier, at after work hours. Tomorrow night is also the grade school Christmas program, and already knowing most of the amish won't be there, they'll be at the second visitation for my favorite cousin's funeral. The day after will be pretty long...starting at 9 am sharp, 2 hrs of program/preaching/viewing. Rough on a wooden bench. Then to the amish cemetary about 4 miles away. Then back for the noon meal.

@INresponse Who won the game?
My sons team played a great game but lost. The score was close until the 4th quarter, but it was cold and raining and his team from southern Nevada was shivering and dealing with tingling hands and feet by the end of the 1st quarter while the team from the north was a little more accustomed to the cold weather. The game and the weather was what it was so there is no changing that but our team was obviously slowed and having trouble due to the cold. I talked with a few kids from the other team, and their parents, in the parking lot after the game and they knew the cold was against us, but they also wondered about many bad calls from the refs throughout the game. "How the heck did you guys get 7 "false start" penalties in a row in the 4th quarter? We didn't see it!" Well, bad calls are also part of the game. I will add, the sportsmanship by all kids from both teams made me very proud as they were helping each other up after plays, patting each other on the helmet or shoulder after each play, and aside from just a couple pushing and shoving instances (which is expected in such a game) the kids were all very mature and obviously well raised and coached. Congratulations to Truckee High School.

SIDE NOTE: My son who I am raising as a Michigan fan noticed the Truckee Wolverines team logo is obviously an altered recreation of the Michigan Wolverines logo..... but with Ohio States red and grey colors. What sick individual came up with that concoction?

The kids played great and although disappointed in the outcome after some conversations after the game they accepted the situation and were proud of themselves.

On a side note, the game was on a Saturday and Sunday morning I had the start of a cough which in a couple days turned into over a week of sick in bed. Today was the first day I felt rested and healthy and able to work a full day without feeling lousy or tired. That is why I haven't been around much.

But, @LadyLocust Thank you for asking.

Will walk first- early.
See if local grocery saved me any over ripe bananas- I need about 50 for banana bread on Thursday.
Pick up friend and go to appt. with health insurance agent to switch insurance back to humana.
Stop at thrift shop to donate and look for fake Christmas flowers for porch hanging baskets.
Hit Walmart and Aldi for bananas and a few other needed items for National Banana Bread Day.
Come home and walk dogs.
Maybe get out some inside decorations- not many-, maybe not.

We are going shopping today and maybe swimming.

It's sons last day of school, after that he has finals and then hopefully 1 semester left to go. It will make our financial situation better once we don't have to support him anymore. Just the gas alone to drive to the university adds up.

Supposed to snow tonight

Part of the old Gordon Lightfoot song ...Railroad Trilogy.... The railroad men grew restless to hear the hammers ring...

Skiff of new snow last night.. Mostly gone from traveled streets now.. Will likely be a no issue by the tomorrow as the balance of the current 10 day forecast calling for low 40sF for highs.. Knock on wood... Exceptionally nice for early December..

Hey - good for them! I am familiar with Truckee - they can be a tough crew. Good to hear the sportsmanship was positive.
Now get yourself better!

Overrun with holiday stuff. Probably will be away from the forum for a bit while I try to get things finished up. Ahah. Ahahahaha. Send help. XD
Thank you for letting us know so we don't have to worry about you! And have a Jolly Christmas 💕
