you guys sure get sick a lot is there anything you can do to improve health? Vitamines? Hand sanitizer when you go out? More veggies? Exercise? Just trying to help....I feel bad for you to get sick so much
Taking vitamins but need more veggies & exercise. It doesn't help that my brother works at a casino and keeps bringing home viruses. The last few times we got sick were from him getting a bug from work and bringing it home. But we also need to clean. Which translates to me having to clean bc my brother doesn't help. His one chore is to take out the trash and he won't do it. I appreciate you. I need more motivation.

Water went out 3x in the past 24 hours. First in early evening-- I went out with a flashlight and turned it back on. Then later in the evening when it was 32 out so I decided to wait until sun up. Then again after noon. I went to wash dishes again and no water. Not sure what is up with the jet pump but I think it's either the wiring to the pressure switch or the switch itself.

Went to Walmart and got almost everything on the list-- they were out of salad. Got some fresh rotisserie chicken taken off the bone so I can make soup or mix it in with other stuff for the next few days. Got some yogurt to see if it helps with my guts. We were out of milk again so I had to get more. Also got some orange juice to see if that helps. My brother drank it the last time I got it for myself.

On my way home the dogs had left the yard and were out on the road (almost to the neighbor's driveway) and I had to stop and make sure they got out of the way. Fippy waddled after me and Princess ran, trying to race the truck but she couldn't keep up. They can tolerate the cold air more than I can.

Resting with the kitties and messaging my sister on Discord for now.

Will have to get some cow feed tomorrow.

Working on FIFO on canned foods. Spent a couple of hours on it. Finished the peas, canned milks, stir fry cans, pie fillings, corned beef, and kidney beans. Still more to do, but I like things organized. The chickens are finally laying a few more eggs a day, a little bit more light matters.

Spent a good part of the day working in the fur shed. The wife even came up for a visit.

Got a fire going in the fur shed and its up to 46 degs in here right now. I'm smoking a decent cigar too. Going to start grinding up some mice and chipmunks to make coyote and fox bait.
I hear mice and chipmunks pair nicely with decent cigars.
Hi to Mrs MT 😊

What is FIFO?

We’ve done a lot of going this weekend. Hubby is not a homebody like me. So yesterday morning he went into work for a couple hours. When he returned home, he was hum-hawing around. I told him I’ve had a gut feeling we need to go see his mom and stepdad. He is 89, diabetic and going in for hip replacement in a couple weeks (if you are the praying sort😉) so we went and saw them - a nice visit. They are about an hour away.
Last night there was finally snow in the mountains so this morning we headed up to the ski slope. Got there at a good time so decent parking, but a gazillion other people also decided to hit the new snow. We were there about an hour and a half and only made 3 runs. The lines for the lift were terrible so came home. Let the little K9 poop machine run around for a while then went to lunch at a local bbq spot. It was pretty good- we’d never eaten there before.
Now Hubby is asleep in his chair and I will work on the enormous pile of photos some more.

I was thinking FIFO was a bit like FAFO but apparently I was wrong. Almost sounds like GIGO (garbage in, garbage out).

So, water went out a 4th time. I took a video of the problem and then it went out a 5th time. But this time it wouldn't come back on. A coupling came loose and water shout out directly on to the pressure switch. So, pretty sure it is toast. No water until I can get it fixed.

Pretty quiet weekend, took down the Christmas decorations, did a bit of cooking. Looking forward to a short week — the husband has both Friday and Monday off, yay!

… it’s supposed to snow overnight, and I gotta drive tomorrow. Boo. Never seem to manage to catch a snowy day where I can just enjoy the weather.

Just back in from feeding and bedding pets, hens and pheasants. Bit slower this morning as I've a cold, and it took ages to get the car moving as the gears had frozen.

I like the mornings in this weather, once I get past the slippery concrete! Fire lit and stocked up on inside firewood. Other than son no1 and husband, everyone is working from home today so it'll be a quiet house other than the rush to the kitchen at lunchtime to get to the microwave or toaster first! Assessed my food stock cupboard and need a few bits I only use occasionally, so I've a list ready to go with all the bags for the thrift shop etc. Not planning any extra journeys this week so all will be done in one go.
Going to get some study done and clean a bit as the kids took down the decorations.

Weather is going to be absolutely horrible all week except for today. So hopefully husband can drive to the sawmill and get more sawdust. We are not out, but the way the weather looks there are no good days in a while to get more ( it has to be a dry day to get it )

I finally started on the kitchen cabinet. The worst part of it is done. Threw all rusted canning lids away and put all the 20 goat baby bottles with the animal stuff, ended up with many plastic lids but missing containers so they went in the trash, now I have room and can find stuff!

Woke up at 4 am thinking about the trip and getting stressed already. SO many things could go wrong. I will attempt to by the rest of the tickets again today
But if I didn't try to visit, I would regret it later I think.

We have been canning a little, but the wife's plans seem to exceed our capacity... Learning to scale back to meet our bodies limitations as we get old is a hard lesson to learn....

We canned Chicken Stock and Potato Leak Soup, we are planning on doing Beef Stock and Vegetable Beef Soup next.

After the morning chores I need to finish repairs on the snowblower to get it ready for the storm that's moving in later today. It could dump 4 feet over the next week or so. Then I need to heat the tractor and move it closer to the house. It's 7 degs this morning and supposed to get colder and high winds starting tomorrow. Looks like we're finally getting winter.
I don't mind the heavy snow so much, but with the high wind we'll get a lot of drifting. I've seen drifts over 8 feet high on our road before. We're pretty well set with everything we need in case we get snowed in for a couple of weeks.

My Monday couple is sick (again), home today!! With the bad storms coming I won't try to schedule in some of the 'extra' jobs I have waiting! Doing laundry and drinking coffee, everyone is fed, Buddy and the outside cats are hunkered down, can hear the thunder in the distance! After the line of storms roll through I'll make us some brunch. Will catch up on some house cleaning here today!!

Woke up early for a phone call from a "coach" with the new promotional products group I joined. 30 minutes of good information to help get my business stuff rolling better this year. Started a fire in the wood stove, the GF is home and will be her usual cold self so the house might be warm enough for her when she rills out of bed. I had my hot tea this morning, ate a piece of ham for breakfast, mixed up my water with the usual supplements to take to work, started the truck to warm it up for the short drive across the neighborhood to work, the temp said the engine was 17* so I guess it was chilly last night. Supposed to warm up to about 40* today and mostly sunny.
Michigan football game to watch after work. I need to remember to call and reschedule my chiropractor appointment today, I can't be bothered with that if the game is on TV.
Go Blue.

EDIT/UPDATE: A minute before leaving for work the boss said we are taking the day off because it is cold outside. We work in a heated shop and aside from opening the door to drive something in or out it would be about 57* inside BUT I am good with another day off. I scheduled an annual doctors appointment which would have required time off work anyways, rescheduled the chiropractor appointment to earlier in the day so I will be home to watch the Michigan championship football game, and I will try to figure out setting up a website through the promotional products group I joined last week.

Oh, and I will hit the elliptical for a bit of a work out for the first time in a couple of year. Well, not just hit it, I will get on it and exercise. :ghostly:

I spent time tending to the greenhouse today getting blackberry cuttings and seeds planted. The Princess found me and asked if it felt strange planting stuff in January? I have some work to do rearranging plants.

It was fun.

Our daughter (child #4) wrote short stories in second grade. She always ended them with, It Was Fun. Your post, Ben, reminded me of that!
Waiting for the snow to arrive in a few hours. Got husband to the doc appt, then filled the truck up with gas, and went to the bank for some cash. Emptied two dehydrators of cooked kidney beans, and filled one up with Rotel. Laundry and other junk done around here. Spent a little time in food storage.

@dademoss quite often I think that’s it! They’re in the new place! I’m so confused. I guess you’ll be getting slammed with lousy weather, eh?
No, The weather is fine. It's 34 years, in the same house, and downsizing for a retirement house. Lots of stuff won't be making the trip, but still has to go someplace.
