Started with my walk first thing and then went to Walmart for a few things. Found grapes at Kroger for 98 cents a pound called moondrops? or something like that. Seedless, black, elongated and very sweet! Hit a thrift store and found a few blouses which are in the dryer wrinkling right now. Will turn it on for a few. done. Came home and helped DH try to fix seal in fridge door. Maybe done. Made spoon bread for Church group meeting tomorrow and made my black bean tacos again. Still really good!

Only crazy people are outside at 10:30 PM with a flashlight trying to catch a dumb rooster that escaped from his cage.....he led me on a merry chase...top of one chicken house to another, round and round the trees and brush...doing karate chops at the spider webs....finally, locked some of the chickens in with a sliding door, opened their cage, put up barricades and lured him in..then had to catch him....got all his tail feathers...but he is now safely in his own cage....dumb, dumb, dumb

Today was a good day. While chatting with friends at my church's coffee shop I found out they are going to buy a local gun store! That made my day but I might have to practice some self control or I'll have 20 new guns. Tonight I'm "supervising" while daughter does homework. I can't help her with her math. 7th grade math is harder than it used to be. I'm ok with numbers, but when did they start putting letters in math too???

I wonder if I have a dress I can fit in?
Better yet I wonder if I have shoes that will fit properly.
When I lose weight, my feet are the first to loose.
Oh, well I have to go to Wal*Mart for monthly supplies.
Will see if I can find size 4.5 or 5 shoe that will fit properly.
Off to the closet to see about a dress or skirt.
I have several I haven't worn in a while mainly most functions I go to I wear a Military Uniform.
This is a first time I don't have to wear an uniform this year. I'm RETIRED.
Decisions, decisions...........
Would rather stay home and eat French Silk ice cream.

Not much going on here. Its raining...again *sigh* will be raining until thursday . There only so much you can clean lol I pick up or clean something and then read or catch a ballgame in the afternoon ( its a delayed program from the day before) and then make the meals.
I do have a package to pick up at the post office this morning lol a break in the routine!
Its supposed to be lovely starting friday. Sunshine, low 70's low humidity. I have leaves to rake already from the maple trees and until the front porch dries I can't sweep it off
Sometime soon my husband will have to take the awnings off the bedroom windows for the winter. We take advantage of passive solar heating from the sun in the winter.

Started off the morning with picking up our grocery order and found they had short changed us 2 packets of cocoa in the shop as we were packing it so they refunded us for that and then before I left home I found out I stuffed up the order and got 9 pkts of choc chip cookies instead of choc chips. Hmm anyway we all have days like that :dunno: and they were in the same coloured packet so I exchanged those for 12 packets of chocolate chips when we picked up the order. The staff there already looked like they were sucking on lemons but then got even more peeved with exchanging things and their staff stuffing up the order. We smiled and thanked them all so much for their help anyway and got cheery smiles back. Think they must have had a few abusive customers before we got there.

Then we went to the bank and drew out some money for our home emergency kitty and went to our real estate office to let them know that from January we want to go on a month by month lease as we are searching and buying a property. They were nice as usual and wanted to know what price range and specs we were looking for and will call us also if they have something suitable on their books for us to look at.

Back home where we dated all the groceries, rotated everything and put it away. Our apiarist friend dropped over for a chat and will bring us around the honey he owes us shortly when he gets his extracting plant going after his elder friend who usually does it for him sold all his equipment. Then we had a quick bite to eat for lunch.

Off then into town to meet the real estate agent to go and see the home we were looking forward to seeing on 2.4 acres. We really like this property and it has good bones but we fear it has asbestos in it. We know the property is highly negotiable on the price so this could work well for us but would have to get tradies in to remove the asbestos before upgrades were done. The land is good and fairly flat and it has near on 34 000 litres of rain water tank storage on it and a possible already dug unequipped bore but need to check on that with the property owners.

Tonight's dinner was the second half of our homemade quiche.

Mo..you are the smallest foot lady I've heard of. I wear a size 10 and so do my daughters. Granddaughter wears size 11. Now she is difficult to find shoes for!
Just work today, and more cleaning and chores when I get home.

I wear an 11 shoe depending on the brand. I understand the diffulcult shoe shopping at brick and mortar stores. The place online where I got my 2 pairs of boots I take a 12WW. I marked and then measured my foot on a piece of paper and then went by their size guide. They fit perfect.
Maybe you should check into online shoe shopping. Its working out great for me lol

Sewingcreations15, asbestos removing is VERY expensive here. So expensive that a lot of people don't bother to hire them and then just do the demolition and remodel on their own. They just take the chance to not getting caught and being fined big time

You are right Lazy L!
Without bad days we would not recognize the good days. If we always felt good, that would become "normal". In the same way if you always had bad days, that would become normal.
I have good and bad days - especially lately with all the work I have been doing. I am recovering faster and in less pain than in the recent past so my "normal" is improving. :)

I have been replacing the perimeter boards around the house, and in the process finding out that the porches need to be rebuilt. A lot of the work I have seen goes beyond shoddy and extends to ignorance. The wide use of interior screws and fasteners without using common practice foundations is beyond my belief. Using drywall screws in an exterior structure causes failed (broken) fasteners as well as fasteners that cannot be removed due to head failures. I am drawing up new porch and stair structures to replace what was in place. I will incorporate railings that were missing even though the code requires them. I am glad that pressure treated lumber was used but was sad to see untreated plywood was also used. The wood was never stained or otherwise protected from the elements but it will be when I rebuild it.
It's hard work for this old man with a bad back but I do a little each day. I want to have it all done before winter so that we can paint the house and outbuildings when the weather warms next year. My wife has picked a base color of blue with white trim so all the buildings get the same color treatment. The shop will be repainted white on the inside and my wife is picking a color for the garage interior. It will be nice to get it all done so I can spend more time on my own projects in the shop. The new dryer was supposed to have been delivered yesterday - didn't happen so we are going on the second week without a dryer. Who would have thought that Sears Kenmore would quit making support parts for a dryer only 9 years old? What kind of an engineer mounts a relay hard to a control board, knowing that mechanical switches fail?? I won't be buying any more sears appliances. They used to supply support for their stuff even at 15 years. Now they just want to sell the next appliance. I am replacing the Kenmore with a Whirlpool Dryer and I will also be looking at getting replacement parts in the next year so I can repair it in the future if they don't support their products after a reasonable time.
I repaired the "lifetime warranty" rebuilt starter on my wife's car after it had been on for just over a year. I replaced the leaking fuel pump on my car and the filters and adjusted the bands on the transmissions on both cars. They are tuned up and ready for the winter. This has been a busy month so far with harvest, preserving and all the extra work but I am feeling good and the work is getting done.
Now I have to get back at it, see y'all later. Keep your six clear.

Walked, got a large bag of shoes and clothes to take to thrift store (most of them came from a thrift store, so just recycling) went to my Church group. Just came home and going to rest or take a nap, whichever happens. A little later, I hope to bring my ladder in so I can change A/C filter, some light bulbs and put a few items in the china cabinet. All of that is way over my head!

Been there before GrannyG. Chickens, rabbits, pigs (always fun).

Went to Wal-Mart and found some t-shirts on clearance for $1. Bought 5 so now I can toss some of the worn ones into the scrap bin. Made a list of stuff I have to do this weekend to be ready for the fair. I HAVE to find the short in the trailer wiring so it doesn't blow my blinker/brake light fuses again.

Was going to do some yard work, but my day took a whole different turn when I caught my toe in a sidewalk crack and plastered my nose all over the sidewalk and scratched my glasses all up. Now waiting on a eye exa6to replace them.

Ouch!! Sounds like something I'd do.

Hmmm. Buying only 20 new guns some would consider self control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well...I did come home with this today. I'll post more about it in the firearms threads.

@WVDragonlady thank you and yes I know asbestos costs a lot to remove so we will be getting up to date prices on having it professionally removed and I simply don't understand why others would risk their lives to remove it themselves. The house and land concerned was purchased by the owner for $4000 a few years ago (yes I did a sneaky purchase history internet check on it), so the price on it now is a really negotiable $189000 and we are thinking of halving that price for an offer due to the work that needs doing and infrastructure of sheds and more garages not there either. These are things buyers do not think of when purchasing is the expenses they will incur if renovations need to be done in the home. In this case we estimate (as I have worked in the building field) that the repairs ,renovations, professional asbestos removal and putting in the necessary infrastructure would be in the vicinity of $40 000 - $50 000 which of course I would take off the asking price. Also a similar property sold in that area for $140 000 recently (with equipped bore and extra garage) with less work needed to get it up to scratch so that would be why our offer would be so low.

Started reading Diana Andersons, "Premonitions Book 1" last night. Hard to put down, but I had to get to bed. Have Book #2 as well. Great job, Diana!

I forgot about those! Ill have lots of books to read over fair week. After the kid is done showing that is....

Since a conversation with my friend at 8am this morning and hubby on his laptop made my head hurt with the news I'm going to eat lunch and have a beer or wine.
And listen to some music .
Then clean house and walk old dog around with her homemade walker.
"Make the world go away and get it off my shoulder" haha.

Doing some laundry. Have some ham chunks I'm thawing so I can make a ham and swiss cheese impossible pie for supper, just have to figure out a vegetable to go with it. Waiting on another delivery. And its raining again today lol
I'm just wondering if this wet spring and summer are an indication of a very wet winter. If so I better make sure all our winter gear is ready to go

Since our youngest daughter moved out, a bedroom downstairs is open. Am moving granddaughter from the upstairs to the downstairs and having her clean out stuff in the process. She is a mess. She'll be right next to our bedroom so I can keep an eye on her better. She can hear my footsteps on the stairs and hides stuff quickly, being upstairs by herself. She doesn't know she's moving, but will be home in 20 minutes from school, so we have our work cut out.
