Hi Amish Heart and get better soon sounds like it might be the dreaded lurgy flu :( :huggs:.

@hiwall that is a really good price for the tanks they cost around $120 new here. You can get them secondhand but most of them have had chemicals in them and personally I would not risk it for food or home water supplies. We have friends who purchased these and we have been warning them that a good wash out does not get the chemicals out of them and it is impregnated in the plastic :dunno: . One of these families who bought these for watering their vegetable patch, his wife has just been diagnosed with cancer. How the heck do they know what chemical was in those tanks and why would anyone take that risk is beyond me.
If we find them used, we only buy them if they still have the label on them. We have 3 and they all came from a cheese place place and contained rennet.

Made breakfast, did hubby's laundry ( work clothes), dusted, started supper in the crock pot, read some, made us lunch, went out and picked up the pup's toys then while hubby mowed I pushed mowed around the raised beds and weed whacked around the burn barrel. Finished supper while watching a ballgame and had supper. Now I'm perusing the net seeing whats been going on. I plan on reading some more, then getting hubby's lunch ready and setting the coffee pot and then going to bed. I was up at 3am again this morning

Hope everybody feels better soon,Amish Heart.
Hope you find a place suits your needs Sewing.
Glad everything tasted good timmie.
Been sticking close to parents for the last few days.
Dad's cousin died unexpectedly this week.
His cousin was 7 years younger than dad, 5 years younger than mom.
This is my first night home in a few days.
As for the swollen left knee PT doctor says left knee will swell maybe as long as a year.
Got my walk in yesterday 4500 steps. And today was 4950 steps goal is 6000 steps.
He said I need to walk to get that knee used to being mobile, lubricated.
Will restart PT tomorrow, working on balance and strength.
Both balance and strength is little weak.

That's hard on parents. Very sorry for your loss.
We stay in slight touch with our cousins, my husband's family doesn't stay in touch with their cousins at all.
We almost all live within 15 or 20 miles of each other.
Except the ones who live in KCMO area.
Even then their within 50-75 miles of each other.
Got 1 sister and 2 nieces that live in Texas, but they are within a couple hundred miles of each other.
The 2 nieces live in same city Austin, my middle sister lives in Huntsville.
Well Huntsville is the biggest town near by anyhow.

Well carrying on with the conversation about politics is that my family are just plain weird and dysfunctional , us keeping away from all of them is the best move out. Sorry to hear about your families loss @MoBookworm1957 .

Round one of today is I stain removed some clothing, put on a load of washing and hung it on the line to dry and watered around 1/3 rd of the back house paddock lawns with saved grey water from our showers and washing machine. While I did that DH rang the real estate to make an appointment to have a second look at the 2.4 acre property we have our eyes on and we will take a written offer to purchase with us when we go and rang a water diviner to find out costs for his services when we move onto our block so we will know the best place to dig our bore. He also has been getting quotes on a new double axle 10 x 6 box trailer and comparing prices on small new tractors also for the new property. He is having a nap now.

Round 2 later on today.

Another job interview today. I’m actually dreading this one mainly because I hate the whole process. I’m qualified, I have the experience, and the pay could almost double my present income but it would be back to dealing with people one on one. I’m already working and the pay is low but I’m enjoying the work so not sure how I feel about the whole thing right now. I’m just presenting myself and selling my story in this newest interview and letting the chips fall where they may. I figure whatever happens it is the path I’m destined to follow so we shall see. I need more coffee...

Round 2 is I took the washing off the clothes line and we then went into the gardens to harvest the silver beet and broad beans and also found some ripe snow peas. The broad beans weighed 1kg, snow peas 500g, and we picked 23 bunches of silver beet saving $99.50 in total over purchasing the same amount in the local shops. Currently we are blanching and freezing them and have finished the peas and broad beans and are round about half way through doing the 5 batches of silver beet. Once they are all done we will package them and put them in the freezer.

In between batches I settled last months expenses, drew up a new page in my accounts book and put in the next 2 months budget allowance into each category and DH did the same in his computer spreadsheet. Then I listed 10 more items on eBay using a free listing promotion saving another $16.50 on normal listing fees.

We can't replace or repair our over the range microwave because no one makes one that size anymore. We'd have to tear out two inches of cabinet. So I have one on the counter. That all looks dumb. Like a broken console tv being used as a tv stand for a tv that works. Husband did that when he was a bachelor.
Not going to work today. Managed to feed most of the animals this morning and have to stop and take a rest. This flu has kicked my butt. Coke for breakfast. Immodium for dessert. Maybe some chicken broth for lunch.

I'm stocked up on chicken breasts and thighs. Bought 10 packs of small ham slices for $1 each ( perfect size for breakfasts) Splurged and bought myself little packs ( 6oz) of imported cheeses from Finland and Netherlands. Also had a coupon for a free pumpkin roll cake. A little bit of Fall taste for hubby's lunch. Also bought 7 boxes of different pastas ( .77 each).
I love buying small packs of different cheeses from other countries. I still have a Stilton from Christmas I haven't eaten yet lol
Hubby isn't crazy for it like I am. I love cheese

Have some jackets and hats to wash up so they're ready for use. Looking at the long weather forecast it'll be in the 30's at night by the end of the month

Nah. I only have Tuesday and Wednesday to work. Thursday I'm packing for the farm. We leave early Friday a.m. and it's a 10 hr drive. The grandkids are staying with our son and his gal who live in our trailer on our land, and they'll be staying in the house with them. So I'm still making sure plenty of groceries are available (ha) and he'll take care of all the animals, too. So we just have a couple of days at the farm this time. My mom has 4 other living siblings in their 80's and 90's and we're having a reunion on Sunday afternoon. Us young'uns (ha) will be doing the cooking. I'm on the ham and scalloped potatoes. Although mom had me order 4 pies from her from a family baker. So it'll be cool to see some cousins on my Mennonite side that I haven't seen for years. Some coming in from northern Kansas, Florida, Ohio, and Alaska. Then a day with my favorite cousin (Monday), then off to Colorado for the week for my husband's medical stuff. We come home from Colorado with one of the Menno cousins visiting for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. So my biggest issue is to get the house cleaned up before we leave and to hope it's presentable when we return. The upstairs bedroom granddaughter just moved out of is still a big mess and needs to be made into a guest room. I figured out around here that it takes two days for this house to look like a tornado hit it. Caught up on laundry this afternoon, but I cheated and used the clothes dryer. Too out of it to hang it. Haven't done that in a while.

Had to do the walmart trip this morning and it was cheaper than expected. Yay! Did laundry and ran dishwasher yesterday, (dishwasher gets run every other month if I'm not canning). Got DH on the train this afternoon, came home and watched some tv. Tomorrow, I will be making peanut butter cookies most of the day, some with sugar and some without. Tomorrow afternoon is the Night Out festival with the local Police Dept. Our Church hands out baked goods and water, so the goats may go to bed a little later than normal. Will probably clean out the pantry, since I will be in the kitchen anyway.

Took the kid back to the cardiologist this morning. After looking over the record of her blood pressure for the last 2 weeks all low or with high pulse pressures except for the one last Sat (133/107 with resting heart rate over 200) he said it was beyond him. Actually he said "it was above his pay grade and was the kind of stuff the Mayo clinic likes to play with". He said he is going to talk to our primary physician but there is nothing he can do.

Maybe when husband retires, which is never. Ha.
He says when we sell the preschool, then he'll think about retiring, and after youngest daughter gets her MD 18 months from now., and I'm sure he'll add in something about the grandkids we raise after that. (although raising them there would be far better for them).
But I really don't believe him. I think he bought the farm for me if something happens to him.
We've always moved because of his job, and that's why we're where we are. Moving to the farm would be different, because it would mean retirement for him, and his dad passed away soon after he retired. So I tell him he's just going to die on the job and never retire.

Remember that doctors are all just practicing medicine. Good luck.

Money is nice but I'd rather work at a place I enjoy and the money would be second priority.

Started off the morning with banking some money into our home deposit account, grocery and pantry account and paying tithe. While I did this DH was getting quotes on dual axle trailers, floor polishing and having a bore put in with a water filtration system so we can pump water straight into rain water tanks.

We then packaged up our large 82cc chainsaw we recently purchased and sent it back for either repair or replacement as the motor was running so slowly it wasn't cutting and while there posted some cucumber seeds at the post office. While in town we priced new stoves and a new wood stove as well. We are tallying up our costs for things that are needed for the home including equipment to make sure we have enough for those plus the home deposit as well.

Still waiting to hear back from the real estate agent on when we can go and see the house again on 2.4 acres to take a closer look and also to put in an offer. We think we have all the figures down pat now so we know how to proceed. I then watered one of the front herb and rose gardens with saved vegetable blanching and cooling water from last night.

Tonight's dinner was a mince stir fry with garden vegetables.
