Went to the post office to get mail. Cooked for Mom. Got mom's new ups covered in dust screen and electrical tape. All unused ports either taped over or plugged. Took old one out, put new one in. Spread peppermint oil on it. Gave same treatment to an external cooling fan that I was going to use for the computer but decided its better for the modem. Tested to see if fan worked with the screen, found USB ports on the power strip are all dead. Had to use an adapter and found it works. Used canned air to get roaches off the modem, rubbed it with peppermint oil, put it on the fan.

Tried troubleshooting the AC- fan is short cycling. Didn't check outside unit bc of thunderstorms. But when the AC is turned off and I try to turn fan to circulate, it comes on for a few seconds, shuts off, then comes back on a short while later-- sometimes only a few seconds-- and then shuts off. Never seems to run for more than 7 or 10 seconds. So the AC isn't cooling bc the fan won't blow. I checked the filters (replaced them recently so they are still good), cycled through modes on the thermostat, turned off the breaker for over 30min and turned it back on, poured bleach down the condensate line... Nothing seems to work. I did note that when I cycled through modes I saw "waiting for equipment" at one point. It lasted for a long time-- that was before I shut off the breaker. Afterward it only had that message briefly.

Hoping my friend can figure things out if he comes out tomorrow to look at lumber. He is trying to find something to use as a mantle for his new fireplace.

Gotta work, well I had two days off. Cleaning my building, then cleaning for a little lady who was sick last week! Fast run through Walmart! After all the rain I need to shock the pool, it's time anyhow. Spend time with the critters later, I think we are all glad the rain is done!
That is why I don't work for myself, I am WAYY too lazy , and would get fired :D

More of the same, nap, drink herb teas, hang out here a little. Watch church on zoom if I’m awake. Head isn’t bothering me as bad.
My wife swears by the Equate severe cold and flu daytime powders, Daughter tried it and it worked for her.

I have not yet but if I am not better from the pollen in the AM I am dropping the Advil sinus and pain tablets and going for it too.

Got in the morning walk 1.2 miles at 3 mph 22 minutes, 180 knees to the chest and some 30 second stretches, Heart rate 68 O2 97%, not too bad for having ILD and sinus I guess.

Pollen is high right now where I am. Taking an allergy tab each day, and hoping my nose finally will clear up. Little granddaughter's last day of spring break today. She's got some rabbit cages to clean this afternoon, and her bedroom. Thinking today will be pretty quiet. We have cold coming in tonight, below freezing again. No plans today except for continuing with cleanout.

Nothing "homestead-y" today. Yesterday I picked up a new slide assembly and streamlight for my Mossberg 500 and will install it today. As near as I can figure, it will be the last purchase of gun stuff or ammunition for a good while. Tonight, if I get bored, I'll take out the shotgun and see if I can use my 1000-candela light to shoot our all my neighbors' windows ...

...or something.

@MoBookworm1957 here are the sd crackers. I did not brush with oil or add herbs. Might in the future but wanted to start with plain.

@Tirediron here is the toothpaste recipe. I don’t add flavoring. You will be surprised at how it has no flavor. Baking soda is a tough flavor to get used to. Guess all I can say is give it a whirl and see what you think.

Thank you for the information LadyLocust.

It seems my local Wal*Mart has corned beef 2.57 pounds on sale for $5.
Normally corned beef runs $20 or higher.
I do believe I will have to pick up several.
This means I will be making cherry jam in my future.
Estelle gave her Granny, a case of jelly jars for Christmas.
In the hopes that she can have homemade jelly and jams in her future.
Will be making Christmas Candies to this weekend.
Need to make room in the chest freezer.
There is a small community of older people that look out for each other.
One of my friends let me know about the corned beef.
I let them know when I'm making sourdough bread, so they get their share of waffles, pancakes, bread etc.
Didn't get corned beef, they were sold out.

Sipping coffee.
Been giggling at Leprechaun tripped trap on my kitchen table.
So Last night about 2100 hours I get a frantic call from Estelle.
She forgot to come over and visit, set the trap.
Get her calmed down, send her picture of the trap I had put together.
She calmer off to bed she goes. I'm awake now.
Nature calls about 0300 hours, walking through my apartment, I trip the trap.
She's called 3 times since 0700 hours checking on the trap.
She will be by later to make sure I did it right.
So at 0900 hours I get another call, this time it's Reign.
She's excited because her trap is tripped too.
Both my sons think sometimes I do silly things for the grandchildren.
Nyx was eating gold chocolate coin, clutching her bunny ear Sloth.
Charlie was trying to eat the gold, making truck noises with his wooden dog on wheels.
Reign got a sock monkey with bunny ears.
Estelle got a unicorn with rainbow hair.
But that's how memories are made with Granny.
All in all good day so far.
Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Details would be fun, we have a firearms forum :)

I need a leprechaun trap, I blamed the cats for all that nonsense :D

I know 😍. They say 3 or more is a collection so thought maybe she needed another 😁
She might, but there are no more available stalls where Star lives :p

No Stalls available on the house and lot we bought :p. I do have to watch for pygmy goats and such :p

Sipping coffee.
Shivering I'm cold, but my body temperature gauge is out of whack.
Making pizza dough for lunch and supper.
Will have to figure out how to keep my bread machine from walking.
I was gifted an another appliance yesterday.
Now my appliances have to do more than one thing because of storage issues.
I am now a proud owner of a rice cooker.
Something new to play with.
I know my sons mean well, but sometimes it's a bit much.
Hence why it takes me a while to decide if an appliance is worth my counter space, storage space, worth the price and effort. We will see.
I might not have gotten corned beef yesterday, but the day wasn't entirely a bust.
I found a table top ironing board for $5, picked a few groceries and coffee for less than $25.
Got me out of house for awhile.

Just got back from the ER. Dad had blood in his urine last night and this morning. Tests are all good—no infection. He was put on Eliquis about 6 weeks ago and the ER doctor and his gp doctor friend both said the new med could be the culprit. Now I have to get him a urologist and schedule a visit with them.

Gonna play in the garden then start some sauerkraut in the fermentation jars.
