I am surprized that the county wouldn't want you to remove the tree, because it fell from your tree, here they would have raised a stink

Normally i would have cut it up, got it out of the road and saved some firewood out of it. But the way it fell left a couple tons of wood up in the air. I didn't want to risk it.

In the end the county didn't cut it up either. Used a big trac hoe and shoved the whole piece over the shoulder and down the hill across the road.

Peanut, I'm glad no one was hurt and that it missed the mailbox. Oaks can get hollow inside and start dropping branches, so you might want to get that tree inspected by an arborist. The oak tree that fell on my car port and dinged my porch roof still had green leaves and looked fine but was hollow inside. Those suckers can really do damage when they fall.

Magus, I hope you won't need to go to the ER, but if you feel worse, please do so and get help.

Tirediron, if it falls across a public road the county is obligated to remove it even if it fell from someone's yard. The fact that it still had green leaves is in her favor though. They can't blame her for it, even though it was in her yard, because it wasn't a dead tree. If it had been dead and/or she'd been warned that it looked sickly and needed to be cut down, then she could be liable. But each area has different rules for things.

Waiting to see if Mom wants to eat before her doctor appointment.

Cleaning up my back yard from the storm last night.
Went hunting this morning.
Was looking for parts of my new grill .
Nothing bent, found all the parts.
My wooden planter box didn't fare well.
Got it taken apart this afternoon.
Went to Estelle's field day today.
Wednesday or Thursday is last day of school.
Will be doing a school tour come August.
Estelle will be in new building.
Wal*Mart Plus has already paid for itself.
Especially if you can't lift anything over 5 pounds.
It will pay for itself in extreme weather in the winter and summer.
My sister that lives in Texas, is coming to Missouri to dry out.
A family that lost everything in last night in the storm will be by to pick up some food Thursday.
Their modular home was on it's last leg is a hot mess right now.
I can't help with a place to stay.
But I can with food.
Not cutting myself short.
If possible I almost always help my fellow Veterans.
Have a nice day.

Just got an email from our blind company ... may be as late as June 8 for the install!!!

We purposely used 3-Day Blinds so we could get a quick turnaround.

They've turned into 3-WEEK Blinds ... I could have used a local company ... This kind of crap really pisses me off.

We have been dealing with nursing issues. We normally have a nurse come once a week to change the wife's infusion dressing and draw blood for labs. For the last month and a half we have been having issues getting anyone to come out. When that happens we have to go into the infusion clinic and have it done there, have to take off the better part of a day to enjoy the waiting room ambiance. Then they kept sending different nurses who didn't know why they were coming... Then last week we found out that they had been taking her blood samples to the wrong laboratory, one that wasn't covered by our insurance... We found out because of the bill we got after the claim was denied...

On a bright side, Sunday was a range day. It's always a nice day when you can make holes in paper... ;) But, when I was signing out the range I noticed that my certifications expired in April, I was able to get them renewed, but just making a hassle out of what should have been a pleasant day.

That's a pain in the butt, Urban. I know, because we pretty much live either at the infusion clinic or the infectious disease clinic. Husband won't have a nurse out. I do the infusions, but can't do the blood draw or the dressing change, or the weekly check up with the doc. It's alot. I sympathize.
Did animal chores, branch pickup in the main yards after the storm. Little granddaughter and I made 3 huge piles. Will have to get the tractor out to move them. We worked in the garden just a bit, but didn't get anything new planted. Neighbor stopped by to chat and wonder where our vehicles were (we moved them). After lunch, took husband to get a haircut, he was looking like a hippie. Filled a cart at Walmart and filled a cart at Aldi. Need to get leftovers out for dinner (hooray), and neighbor guy is coming over this evening about some of our acreage that he would like to farm. We don't want to sell any land, but would not mind him doing something with about 10 acres that a cousin used to raise alfalfa on. Help with work for trade. He does help some...uses a pasture already for cows, Bets the horse, but boy is he a busy guy. We'll see. It would be handy for him since he's right next to us. Most amish guys around here end of leasing land that is a distance away.

Just came in from more grass cutting, I can almost see it grow here it always does.

The next place is in Fescue and I know I will have to float cut it or be back in less than a week if it rains.
I let the back wheel down to the lowest on the 5', but the 7' is still up a little, gonna get the big impact and drop it too this week. cut the stuff and run over it in high 2 at 4 inches above draft or so to spread the clipping after.

The frist time i ever cut this place with the 7' I backed into some brush and caught a long piece of barbed wire from a hog pen, it whipped like a weedeater line and scared the devils home out of me!!!! I kicked the pto out and dropped the hog down and it spooled it on the shaft.

That is when you have a hand on your shoulder I wondered how many people in that situation would try to jump and run, deadly mistake.

You were blessed. A man locally was mowing on open tractor and picked up barbed wire. I won’t give gory details but he lost his eye. Now 93 years old. They try to keep him from driving but unsuccessful

Got home home from the hospital a few hours ago. The guys were unloading another load of cows and calves when we got here. They brought 2 loads up today. Tomorrow they'll bring the bull up. I slept all the way home and for the last couple of hours. Tomorrow I'll be back working on the fence. Got maybe a half mile left to repair.

Sheesh @Mountain trapper none of my business, but surgery one day and back working the fence the next day?!!
Ifn's you were my old man...

...you'd be in bed at least another day!
Yeah the wife is already nagging at me to take another day off. But the work won't get done by itself. Besides, it's supposed to rain or snow by Wednesday.
