Between fatigue and helping my friend with stuff I haven't been online as much. Inspector came and only said one thing inside the house had to be fixed and said the addons to the workshop need to be taken down as they have busted roofs. Friend is working on that. The area rug on the bedroom floor worked to hide a few damaged vinyl planks. Inspector didn't look under it. It was at the foot of a bed so it looked like it belonged there.

Took my brother to the sleep study doctor. they stuck a camera up his nose and down his throat.

Trying to stay awake but not having much luck keeping my eyes open.

Its been kind of a busy week.

Dog that had been boarding here for 9 days left Tuesday evening. Owners luggage lost somewhere, maybe Toronto. One owner was not feeling well. I have noticed that when people travel, especially to Europe, they come home not feeling well. Dog was happy to see her people. When I talked to her, (dog), I'd say their names and she would let out a soft whimper. One time she literally jumped out of the car window when I dropped her off at home and they were outside waiting for her.

Attended Armed Women of America meeting last night and shot a Glock 44 (22). First time shooting in more than 10 years. I decided to join that range.

Met Haertig this morning for more shooting. He brought a few pistols for me to try out. I had been thinking I'd prefer a revolver, but there were two semi-automatics that I am now considering, but probably going to go for a Ruger. I'm going to start putting together a range bag. I so appreciate having someone who is willing to help me learn to shoot. We went out to eat this time!

I was impressed with Weedy's ability to quickly learn. She did excellent in all safety protocols. She also had nice groups on target - this was a great surprise since we had not previously covered shooting for accuracy, only safety and confidence in handling.

She shot, in this order:
  • Ruger SR22 (a medium sized .22LR hammer-fired semi-auto loaded with 40gr standard velocity - we should have used high velocity, but I grabbed the wrong box!)
  • S&W Model 66 (a K-Frame standard sized .357 DA revolver loaded with 158gr FMJ roundnose .38's - the Model 66 is the stainless version of the Model 19)
  • S&W Model 36 Chief's Special (a J-Frame small sized all steel .38 snubnose DA revolver, same ammo as above)
  • Walther PPQ (a full size 9mm striker-fired semi-auto with 115gr FMJ)
  • Sig P365 (a sub-compact striker-fired 9mm, same ammo as above)

Thank you! I am so appreciative for your help!

Taking Dad for his surgical consultation this morning. One of my patients at work is an oncology charge nurse at the hospital we're going to. When I told which surgeon, her face lit up. Told me he's the best surgeon with very positive outcomes. I hope Dad is one of those positive outcomes He's got lots of prayers working for him.

Stuff around here. Probably go to Home Depot and grab a Christmas tree to decorate this weekend. I'll just stick it in a bucket of water on the porch till I find the stand if I get one today. Last IV antibiotic in a bit for husband, but they're keeping in his picc line till next week's doc visit to see if he needs to start it up again. Felt strange not having to get up at 2:30 this morning, it's been a month on this IV round.

Got a little bit accomplished yesterday. VA Community Care approved DH for the procedures that the new pulmonologist wants to do. And transportation will pick us both up and return us home. All this is happening Dec. 23rd. Much sooner than I expected. DH says he has some hope now. Other pulmonologist had him thinking he was done for.
Went to our local college Christmas Stage show with a friend last night. That was great!

Will walk or do video, soon.
Write ebay drafts and maybe do photos.
May run to town for a few banana bread ingredients.
Nice day!

Got up, went to the fitness center, the place wasn't very busy but there was one big lady there who was seriously putting in some work. I was even a bit worried about her a couple times when she was pushing up some free weights so I spotted her. While cooling down on the treadmill next to mine I told her I was impressed with her workout ethic, she told me she was done with being out of shape and overweight. Then I went for a soak in the hot tub and a took a shower before heading up to the apartment for clean clothes and coffee. Took care of a few online tasks and ordered some new pads for my beloved tens unit. Then I worked on next week's menu and started putting together my grocery order. That brings me to to the here and now.

Dishes are done, ground beef is thawing in water, that rest of my dinner ingredients are ready to go, the Christmas tree lights are on, some 70's music is playing, the lady is at the salon with a spa treatment to follow, the girl is at school with a spa treatment to follow, the tracking number on my new Wilson P365XL grip module says it will be here soon and once it arrives I will be heading out to reduce my ammo supply and to go on a spiritual resupply, as in running to the liquor store.

Had the surgical consultation. LOVE this surgeon! He has a positivity and confidence. Dad is very comfortable with him which is half of his battle. The cancer is just in the tissue and bone--no where else in the body. We have to go for a CT of the face and leg. If it is very small and local in the bone, he's looking at a two hour surgery and possibly a metal plate to replace the jaw bone that is removed. If it's a larger area, a four hour surgery with a piece of leg bone being removed and placed in the jaw. This won't happen until after Christmas. He asked Dad if he had any questions. Yup, one. Have you ever done this before? LOL He has. He has also done this surgery on more than a few patients older than my father and in not as good health and attitude as Dad.

Just got off the phone with Dexcom customer service. I had a deployment failure with a glucose sensor today. The applicator did not detach from the sensor when I applied it to the skin on my upper arm so I was left with this first sized hunk of plastic stuck to me. The service rep couldn't help, so I had to rip it off my arm. The sensor and the probe (the little wire that goes into the flesh) came out with the applicator, but the adhesive patch and the plastic module that the sensor and transmitter go into, stayed firmly stuck in the skin and I had to rip it off like a piece of duct tape.

This is the second time it has happened in the last 4 months. I'm very disappointed in Dexcom's quality control. They're sending me a replacement for free.

In a few minutes I'm headed to GF's house. We'll walk Ruby the dog, and go to the gym. Not sure what else may be on the agenda. Maybe a movie, and asleep by 9...

I ordered 2 Bercol 990,000 lumens rechargeable flashlights
We're talking commercial aircraft landing light category there. Must be "Chinese lumens". One would be lucky to get 900 lumens out of a $25 flashlight, and even if the $25 flashlight managed that (more expensive flashlights certainly can), it would no doubt step down in brightness after only a few seconds. These may be decent flashlights, but that lumen rating is either a typo, or the boldest most ridiculous claim to ever come out of China. A small handheld flashlight putting out lumens like that - one, it's impossible with current technology - but two, if it did, the battery would probably last about 500 milliseconds. And you could drop the exhausted flashlight in a bucket of water and it would boil instantly.

That being said, even 900 lumens is more than anyone would need for normal things. You might want more for long range spotlight applications. But that does not come without huge battery requirements and big heat problems.

Didn't get to Home Depot, but will tomorrow. Levi didn't have school today, so he came by for lunch and Gunsmoke. I took him into town (our little town) to the postoffice, the amish grocery, and to fill up the Challenger with gas. Got some more hand spinner clothes washing to do. That part of it is not bad, it's the rinse and wring out that's a pain. Repair guy comes Monday for the washer.

Went to the bank - finally ... lol

My Cuisinart Electric Water Kettle has bit the dust ... this being the second one in 6 years. Went to Kohls for a new one ... which they claimed on their website they had in stock ... NOPE.

Came home and did dishes and laundry, and just had lunch (bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with pork and cheese).

Not sure what the rest of the day will bring.

Keeping busy inside this afternoon! Got sheets changed, couch covers changed ( critters on couches= hair), two loads of laundry done ( praising the washer Amish Heart)! Got a BUNCH of firewood inside before the rain, fixing to vacuum! Will feed critters in a little bit! Will take Bear for a road walk if it's not raining!!

I use the Freestyle Libre 3 sensors. I have an occasional one fail to link to the reader. The freestyle 2 was much worse about it

Went out this morning to start the tractor and noticed one of the front chains had come off and wrapped itself around the axle. Got it taken care of. Then I changed oil in the backup generator and filled the day tank. I think I have enough room in the bulk diesel tank for another 60 gallons of stove oil. That should be good for cold weather.
I put the last 3 trusses on the new chicken coop roof and got all the trusses cut out for the blacksmith shop. I'm going down on Sunday and pick up some lumber to start framing the shop building.

Received 3 packages from Samsclub. one was a duplicate that they mistakenly sent twice apparently. Huge fuzzy blankets. Got one for Mom and one for myself and the extra went to my brother. Although, I'm thinking of taking one to the store and letting them know about the mistake. Also thinking of swapping one for a different color if they still have it.

Fed kitties, refilled waterers, went to Walmart for some stuff and am currently under my big blanket and a bunch of cats.

Glad you're praising your washer. I just did a "load". 120 manual turns. The pup thought I was nuts. I did 2 pairs of leggings, 2 slips, and 1 skirt. That is one load. Now on a rack near the woodburner.
