Started off the day with DH doing another paid mowing job this morning and while he was away I put on the last load of washing for the week and hung it on the clothes line to dry and put on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine.

By mid afternoon it was getting really hot so we decided to have a dip in the rainwater tank pool to cool off and we sat on the back undercover deck in the breeze to cool off for a while. As it cooled off and we got a bit of rain this afternoon we folded up 3 loads of washing and put it away. The dish washing can wait until tomorrow when hopefully we will have a cooler day.

I've never had a flu shot. Last shot I had was a tetanus shot when the dog ripped my hand up.
Have morning chores to do and dinner to almost prepare this morning. It's girl's day today in our family, which means the daughters and I go out for the day. They are 36, 26, and 24 and always interesting. Getting picked up at 11, going to a Greek Restaurant, and then I think thrift store shopping. We will see what the day brings. Husband will have to deal with the two grandkids, and I'll be back home later to make sure everyone gets dinner.

I'm sitting in the Ontario, CA airport, watching all the California freaks walk by. Oh, there's a normal person or two mixed in here and there...:D

Side note: From the look of them, California residents apparently spend a lot more time at the gym than Midwesterners. But from listening to their conversations, they spend a lot less time being real people. Sheesh...

Strawberry has been outside twice to take care of business.
Been to Wal*Mart to pick up a few things.
Learned today, I can plug my laptop into TV to do Graphic Foresnic final.
Should be able to see more details this way beings TV is 32 inches.
Vacuumed the whole house.
Hit and miss on dusting
Groceries are put away.
Bathroom cleaned including the mirror.
Got a dab of dishes to do up.
Drinking reheated coffee for right now.
Ran to bank.
All in all good day so far.
Dusted out kitchen floor, might steam mop it after while.
Either will crochet on Uncle's blanket, or sew for awhile this afternoon.
And it's only 1027 am.

Never took a flu shot, never will. Only had the flu a time or 2, once was last year, but it wasn't bad or very long.

Wife and I took a day to enjoy ourselves, Slept late, took a road trip to the mountians and our favorite place. Saw 35 deer, 24 turkey, and 3 yotes. Beautiful day. Spent close to an hour parked next to a creek just listening to the water rush by. Nice to relax like that at times.

My Dr said RSV is likely the cause of this latest round of bronchitis. She said my asthma is a blessing and a curse. A curse because it makes me more susceptible, and I can't breathe, but a blessing (so far) because I go in when it starts acting up and because of that the infections have been found BEFORE they knock me down.

got up well rested, took a hike up to the neighbors ranch.
Something keeps eating all the kittys food up there leaving Gimpy Kitty (he walks funny) with no food. So, with the owners permission, I took him until they get back from their winter vacation sometime in a month or two. Gimpy is a sweet kitty, not even a year old yet and he can be my barn kitty for awhile.
Went to town to hit the feed store and Napa Auto. Dragged my buddie along so we could hit the thrift store too. We both like to get cheap useful items and clothes. She is really into glass art making, so nice frames for 20 cents is a good fine for her. I found a down jacket barely used for 3 bucks last time I was there.
Anyways, afterwards I got a few chores done, put away feed and got Mr. Hyde settled in a clean trough. He spent today in the spare room crowing to his brothers in the wood shed. He is now in the bathroom sleeping. He has intense bruises but everything seems to be healing up, drying out and no infection. I got a part of a feather out of a wound by putting coconut oil on the wound to soften it all up. I managed to get most of the feather out before he threatened to bite me. So I offered him some coconut oil to eat, a chickee bite size , he loved it and took a few pieces of tortillias to.
chill day, once I got everyone settled for the night, I have a nice fire going..paid some bills, getting caught up on news and generally enjoying my evening.
:)

What's in your herb room, Peanut? How do you store your herbs?

Lololol… The correct question would be what is NOT in my herb room. The following is just the high lights…

Pic 1 – silver pantry shelf unit immediate right, international foods, rice storage, large cans of soups, stews and veggies. Black shelf unit - herbs in tincture form, quarts, pints, 4 and 2 oz bottles. Also, empty herb bottles, all sizes. Back wall – both dehydrators in the corner and mason jar storage as well as summer food processing equipment, for tomatoes and such. There is 50lbs of sugar and 50lbs of salt on the floor.

Pic 2 – back wall, computer related, spare keyboards, mice, towers, blank dvds, cds, printer supplies - paper, ink. Too the left… drawers… everything from food saver supplies to light bulbs and batteries… an apple peeler and a seed press (for oil). Stacked containers… a wide range of prepping equipment and goodies. The big bag on the floor with the green printing – 50lbs of diatomaceous earth, food grade.

Pic 3 – prepping goodies of a more lethal variety, including my crossbow. Another pantry shelving unit… snacks on top, small can items… cooking oils, spare foil, freezer bags, garbage bags, a few rolls of shelf liner and my swiffer supplies.

Pic 4 - containers that are soon going into my herb room, there is room. Pic 2 – the wall to the left will be stacked to the ceiling.

Don’t knock the paneling… my grandmother picked it out in 1974… :D

awesome.
Hey that paneling is better than the old brown stuff!
I started storing broth. I see some in one of your photos.
We used to have 72 hour kits, need to work on that again too, you know, for travel. You know, for those of us who might not be out at BOL, or even if we are, you never know when you might have to evacuate or just leave, for whatever reason.
I used to have a lot more tinctures stored, used them up. Used to get free samples from my boss when things wouldn't sell.

awesome.

Here is a straight on shot of my herbs. I have about 3 gallons of tincture total. I can treat anything from an Ebola outbreak to broken bones to cancer and just about anything in between. Just doin' the best I can...

Resting,
Been doing dishes that dab of dishes grew overnight.
Made up stuff for my impacted Cerumen.
Found that when went for Hearing test.
Strawberry and I are eating bland animal crackers, snack size.
Thankfully only have 1 more bag of those.
Recipe for Ear Irrigation:
2/3 cup of rubbing alcohol
2/3 cup of clear distilled white vinegar
2/3 cup of water.
Makes a pint of stuff.
Use squeeze bulb like you use for babies nose in the old days to flush out ear.
Might take up to 2-4 weeks to loosen.
After that use cotton ball with a couple of drops of baby oil place in ear over night.
Baby oil cotton ball will keep ear canal moist, so you should have no more impacted ear.
Been reading forums from start to finish again.
Learning new information, ideas.
No clue what's for supper.
Have to reshuffle some meat out of chest freezer into refrig. freezer.
Looking at almost empty shelf for mine, Estelle and Strawberry's snacks.
Just got 12 leftover Halloween popcorn balls left.
1 snack bag of bland animal crackers.
But the fruit bowl has apples, oranges, pears, grapes.
Going to get out stuff to make up homemade drink mixes of sorts.
Got to get pint jars out, check ingredients index cards to make sure got everything.
Will do that as big project to restock cabinets.
Working on Uncle's afghan being pledge stuff is back on PBS again.

Bought a book for the kindle
Gave the pups each a Kong squeaky bone toy. Squeak was silenced after only 15 mins lol Now they have holes chewed into each end and steal each other's toy even though they're the exact same thing lol Its kept them occupied so its all good. they get bored easily. can't believe they'll be 3 yrs old in august
waiting on the snow sleet and freezing rain thats supposed to start. its about 45 mins out right now

Lots of snow over the weekend here, so this am I spent about 2 hours shoveling my driveway.
The sun popped out for alittle bit so it made it a nice chore. My neighbor came down with his tractor, and exclaimed why didn't you just call me?
My response was because I ate a hole pizza this weekend ...with a bunch of breadsticks...completely failed my keto and so I needed a good workout. He just laughed..
I got a nice fire going now, cooking stuff for my lunches and enjoying my day otherwise

Watched church on the internet, a wintery mix is falling from above. Then movies on TV, and the deadly invasion of the lap by a "NAP CAT". Missing about 2 hours of my day :)

Went outside with Strawberry this afternoon.
Her to take care of business.
Me to take that new handy dandy snow shovel to knock off icicles off the guttering.
They were 5-10 inches long, didn't want them to fall and stab Strawberry.
Cleared ice patch on porch too. We now have slush, still have ice too, but slush too.
Icicles fell once today scared me and Strawberry, we were napping in recliner.
I'm still drooling over Baker's heirloom seed catalog.
