Terri, hope you get your washer fixed soon

I fixed the dish washer yesterday. It was a $20 part and 15 screws. The clothes washer still isn't draining but after many you tube videos I found that there is a drain clean out under the washer behind the toe kick. It was full of hair and a few bobby pins and coins. I'm waiting for hubby to get home Tuesday to pull the pump off, cause I'm not electrically inclined, to see if the impeller is full of hair too. It hums and gets hot but isn't pumping the water out. I could have found the maintenance instructions a month ago when it started acting up if the genius designers hadn't taped the book to the back side of the toe kick!

We got three truckloads of stuff from the school brought home. No place to put anything. Didn't have time to do put aways, had an American Heritage Girls swim party to take the kids to. The grandkids wanted to keep the mats from our mat room at the school. They were pretty pricey when we bought them, our family used to do judo on them when we built the school. So the kids were busy unvelcro ing them and cleaning the bottoms of them, so now they are leaning all over our hallways here at home - upstairs and downstairs. They want to bring them to the farm, and lay them out on the 2nd floor of the barn. The 2nd floor is pretty cool, there was a basketball hoop up there from the previous owners. Lots to put away in the morning, and lots to sort out to bring to the Amish school next trip.

Today round 1 is that DH has got a load of washing on and I paid and transferred money into savings, groceries, electricity and an extra mortgage payment.

We then set about counting the money for the RSL from the local shower blocks near the camping grounds and putting it in banking bags for them. The container where they had the money had icky bandaids, remnants of cockroaches, some people are gross. We needless to say have disinfected the kitchen table with peroxide and soapy water afterwards and wore gloves.

DH just hung out the washing and we had lunch and I set off the grey water from the tank to water the mandarin tree.

Very happy for you @Jake229 ! It's definitely an adventure!

Sunday had Church in the morning and cleaned house in the afternoon. Also, added some fertilizer to what is still making in the garden.

Today, got laundry going, will do some eBay drafts and photos this afternoon and clean out and inventory my craft trunk. And cut more okra.

My dishwasher is broken, too. Has been for awhile. Not getting water.
Take the hoses off from between the machine and the wall. There are usually screens ar one end or the other and I've had those plug up. If that is it, it's an easy fix.

Can't kick the spouse because he's pretty handicapped and can't do that stuff. But I can get son to help, so we'll take a look at the screens. Seems like that was the problem the last repairman fixed, and then the hose was not the right size. Pain in the butt. Thinking it might be the pump this time? On my to do list after the school is squared away.

@Jake229 how exciting for you and your wife moving into your new home :woo hoo: . Nothing like having some room to move and planning what you are going to do with the property. It takes a while to unpack everything and find a new sort of normal when you move though.

Good Morning! It is indeed a beautiful place. I am sure we will absolutely love it! Yes, you are totally correct it does take a while to unpack. We are straightening out the living room and will go one box at a time, making sure we know where things are going. Got Natural Gas hooked up for stove and dryer yesterday. There was gas in the home, but electricity only for stove and dryer. I love cooking with gas, but not so much with electric. Last evening we got the TV up and the Roku operating again. Not that we have much time to watch TV though. Today we have heavy equipment in the yard for new septic system. At least we aren’t paying for or doing the work. But the property will look like a bomb went off on it for a few days anyway. Fall grass seed is definitely in order.

The tomatoes are producing tons of fruit. Will need to freeze some today for salsa later on. My sister-in-law said she would teach us how to can properly. That in itself is quite exciting! Anyhow, time to plan out the day. For some reason, the list is longer than what I actually get done. Take care!

Went to a larger town near us and got DH's and my tax done and will get a refund due to new laws that came in for tax breaks. DH did the tax while I had myself nuked with a thyroid scan with dye and a bit of nuclear thrown in there for good measure. They should find out now if I have graves disease or not or whether there is growths on my thyroid.

Did a little shopping and picked up some new bargain end of season items being long sleeved cotton t-shirts for me for $1.50 ea, a wool blend coat for $15 and DH picked up 2 pairs of jeans and 9 pairs of socks also all on special. We had a look at a furniture store and think we have found the extendable dining table for the kitchen and 2 new lounge chairs so we will save and buy them shortly.

As it was near our wedding anniversary which is at the end of the month we decided to have a nice meal out and come home. Just detagged the new clothes and they are in the washing basket to be washed tomorrow to add to our wardrobes.

Got DH's new prescription for glasses today. Not sure if he will go through VA or get them online yet. Went to one thrift store. Voted in our primary. Came home and walked back to polling place with my neighbor so she had company walking. Cut more okra.

Today was an exercise in fusteration. I had to refill the kids old prescription because I can't get the new one yet and I'm not having her go without. No more of the 250+bpm please.... The Drs office hasn't called the ins for preauthorizatin so the pharmacy can fill it. We got the prescription on Thursday morning so its been almost a week.
