@phideaux I am glad though you had a good relationship with your mother and have lots of happy memories of your time together.
@Meerkat I'd be getting a second opinion on the eye mess, could be they are just stalling, trying to coverup their mess. I'd go see the patient advocate at that hospital today. At least it's a good place to start, they'll have contact information for outside groups and people that might help.
That said... the cataracts they didn't want to take out of my left eye, said it could be years before surgery is needed... it's snuck up on me in the last couple of weeks. I need surgery now and it's only been 10 months, not years. I'll dig out that clinic name this weekend, it'll be a couple of months before I can get an appointment anyway.
Wish you the best on the eyes... get a hold of that patient advocate!
We just decided to go to Cave in Rock, across the river on the ferry boat.
Just the have Bluegill late lunch at Rosie's Cafe, and maybe walk thru the cave where Dave Crockett spent some time.
I'll report back later.

@Meerkat good luck with sorting the eyesight and get a second and third opinion but it did sneak up quickly on my mother as far as eyesight went.
With the doctors here I just say I am concerned about x with DH and it is investigated as they know I am an ex nurse. Our doctor we have had for a few years just said to me if it hadn't been something you said to have a head scan with DH they may never have found the aneurysm but that was a hunch due to him not having a scan after his accident. Sometimes as a wife and having been in the medical you just know when things are not right with your husband and I will act on it.
@Sewingcreations15 Glad to hear good news under the circumstances.
Jim - and all this time I thought you were so normal - you don't like PBfudge! Yum! Good to hear you are getting autumn though after the heat. And take care of that knee.
@MoBookworm1957 Now that the house is put back together, you'll probably have no company. They will wait until you are in the middle of another rearrange
@Meerkat Take care of you - hope someone figures it out soon.
Wednesday night was a hard frost (sorta,) enough to do in the squash plants so picked all the spaghetti squash I was leaving on the vine to ripen. Hopefully they will ripen off the vine in the summer kitchen. I've been cleaning up the lavender plants - 3 more yet to go. Two trips to Lewiston, ID this week and will head back over Monday. That's too many hours sitting in a rig. I have a pile of ironing to do, floors are a disgrace and yard/garden needs tending before severe weather and really, I would just like a nap Will see what I can get done this weekend.
LazyL...why drop dirty clothes down the stairs? ....
Went to order hubbyss birth certificate and Illinois wants $50 for the darn thing. I also just called dish to see if we could set up service at the new place but not cancel the service down at the old place until hubby retires in Dec. After talking to 3 people who couldn't understand what I was asking for the 4th said she set me up for a new install/account and when I told her no, that's not what I was asking about she kept rambling on about equipment upgrades and stuff. I finally just hung up and I'll call back Monday to undo whatever she did.

My wife went to the eye doctor Friday. Found out she has Glaucoma.Sewing, I'm looking for dr Monday. But even I know cataracts don't just happen in both eyes in an instant.

Just because... I went and put in my info and the kids info and realized that its the Express Vitals site that charges the huge fees. $49 fee from EB and $22 from Tx. $79 for a birth certificate!
Edited to add... Fortunately I found a cheaper website to order them from. I don't know why I can't just order them from the states directly...
On the ferry boat launch looking north into Cave in Rock , Ill.
