@Peanut , that's a bit of good news. Hope he continues to improve.

Well, I'm up and about, had a restless night, had to recover my cover from the floor twice.
But,
The coffee is especially good this chilly 25 degree morning,
As I get ready to go to the big town to see my ortho surgeon for the last time...dang I wish I had a 3rd knee , just so I could continue visiting him...NOT.:D

Gonna be a busy day,
I have an appointment to check out a pristine, like new 1977 , low milage, Buick Riviera , 403 CI Olds built engine, very rare.
View attachment 32516
Then we will be lunching somewhere .
Then home to collapse.:)

Why we have old van and truck, they don't haave more ' brains ' than us.:eyeballs:

I'd be careful about the flood insurance. My FIL hollered for well over 15 years about being forced to pay for flood insurance. ...

I can relate. Lost my tonsils when I was 8. Healthy ever since. I don't need any Medicare Supplemental insurance! Play the odds. Five months later I'm laid up in a hospital with a gall stone blocking the duct and a deceased gall bladder. Medicare paid for 80% and guess paid the remains 20%? Me. Ouch!

Seems very odd for @Sewingcreations15 to not be posting, since Saturday from what I can see.
She hasn't mentioned smoke or being in a fire watch or fire warning zone.

Hope we hear from her soon.
whoa! Hope nothing happened to her or her hubby!

Hopefully its just an internet issue.

I think Insurance is a 4-letter word

And so, today we received a certified letter saying we must purchase flood insurance immediately. What? DH says just wait and see if we receive the letter stating we don't need it.

I did get my greens picked and cooked--very good. Relaxing this afternoon!

Found out today NO Tet Hose.
Mine are 2-3 sizes too small.
Am supposed to start taking blood pressure tomorrow.
Got 5 more days of home health physical therapy, then will go to local hospital for out patient physical therapy.
Someday I might get my taste back.
No appetite.
Walked again today.
Am up to 396 steps today that about 21 more steps than yesterday.
Everyday is improving I think.
Sleep is still hit and miss.
Trust me Jim, won't forget about the pain pills, or ice packs
I use those daily.
Really dislike "Charlie Horses" especially at 3 am.
Especially on the back side of calf, above right ankle.
Will have to think about dinner soon.
Trying to get new schedule worked out before Strawberry gets home next week.

MO! Glad to see you are at home. Take your pain meds and let that leg mend. I know you have to move it but please don't over do it.
I wish you were closer cause I would bring my wife over and cook for you while she helped clean. Be as nice to yourself as you are to those you love!
And I would let her .

@MoBookworm1957 Glad you're home! When does Strawberry come home? And how is she doing?

@Peanut I pray that you and your dad can both get some rest!

Yesterday morning, we went to bank again reference the flood ins. issue as we did not hear anything over the holidays. Supposedly on the 24, the requirement was removed (again) but they did not remove it online for my account and we have not received any paperwork resolving it yet. I did ask for a letter and to have it removed online. We will see. Again, so thankful for God and our banker lady both!

Yesterday, I made tuna salad for myself, goulash for DH and did laundry.

Today, I have swept the house, made rice in the instant pot for dog use. Getting ready to go pick some greens and then cook them (after I make a smoothie). Thrift shop is supposed to come pick up a couple of pieces of furniture so will probably be sweeping again.

Have a good day!
Strawberry is having the time of her life.
20 acres to run on.
She comes home on the 17 th January 2020.
That's the day my staples come out.

Gosh I know how you feel.
I had no appetite for 3 weeks , lost 25 lbs, which I have since found.:)

Restlessness , no sleep, ....yep...only thing helped me was oxycodone at night.

Can I suggest , 1... 8 oz bottle of diet tonic water every night for a while...I promise , it will stop those cramps. That's where I was getting them also ,in the calves, then the calves get so sore you can't walk.

It is amazing how you can tell the improving each day.

Glad your improving.

Jim

Flood insurance is over $1200 a year. If we were forced to have it when we first bought the house, we would have passed because we are on VA disab. Right at poverty level.
The government is re-evaluating flood plains across the USA. Some places are being added to flood areas and some removed. It was logical for the gov to do this. I'm sorry if that is reason your house was changed.

Sitting at the San Francisco airport waiting for my flight back to the Midwest. Figured on checking in early, getting a bite to eat, and catching 3 or 4 hours sleep at the gate before my (very) early morning flight...SFO has other plans. You can't go through security before midnight for a 6am flight. I used to do that often at LAX but maybe the rules have changed. Oh well. I found a comfy chair and I'll camp out here for a few hours. Then it's the big bird home to see my little girl...

Solved a puzzle today... Why dad got an infection so severe as to cause disorientation/hallucinations without the family catching it.

1) fever is the result of our body attacking an infection.
2) because of a weak immune system it's common for people in their 80's to have an infection with out a fever.
3) Dec. 30th dad had a spinal block which is a massive dose of steroids. Steroids suppress the immune system even further.
4) Dads UTI was off the charts in 4 days before we realized how serious his condition.

Dads new (injected) pain reliever is Dilaudid, strong stuff. This afternoon his doctor asked about his pain. He said "What pain?"

At least we have a clear path forward. Manage the pain and clear up the UTI then worry about a spinal block. Thanks Everyone!

I spent several hours helping my wife take down, pack, and move to the shed all of her Christmas Decorations. I tend to get really snippy when this happens. I just do not see the reason for all the stuff she has. Nobody needs 400 Santas. I don't even count the snowmen and nutcrackers.
We have 4 Christmas trees but fortunately, she only puts up 1.
Tomorrow I get to carry all the normal nick nack stuff from the shed back into the house.
We have both agreed that whoever outlives the other one gets to have a dumpster delivered and clean out all the other one junk.
We have vastly different opinions on what is junk.:D

The hospital gave my brother Dilaudid and it stopped his heart. They knew instantly what happened and administered a drug to reverse the effect. They did call a code for him but he came back quickly. It is now on his do not administer list.
You're right strong stuff.

Wow, Spikedriver, you have a long wait. I don't like SF airport so much, but I guess waiting in Oakland is worse.
Got little granddaughter enrolled in school today. She starts tomorrow, which is a half day. She is excited. Felt weird going through the old elementary school. Our grown kids went through there, then the older set of grands, then the twins, and now little one. The nurse and secretary were surprised to see me, and of course, I caught heck for retiring. My school was the before and after school place to be for the elementary kids. They have to stay at the after school program at the school, now, and they don't offer much for the low incomes. Said they were running out of scholarships for that. She's been assigned a new teacher, and I hope she's not a liberal freak. Looking forward to enrolling all three of them in the small country schools next school year when we move. My Amish cousin called all upset worried that WW111 might be starting because Trump "droned that guy". Not sure who she was talking to today, but she was worried. Took awhile to explain drones.

My goodness Snappy so sorrythe damn fools didn't tell you sooner. Hoping it works out ok.:huggs:.

We did know. The first 2 mortgage companies agreed to remove any requirement as the residence itself is not in a flood zone, only the back of the property. We have homeowners insurance on the residence only.

I believe it is just the new mortgage company as one thing they said was that they "like" to have flood insurance if any of the property is in a flood zone.

Its written into our homeowner's policy. But thats for if the pipes break and flood the house. We sit on a hill so the only part that could flood is where the small creek is back in our woods

Good day with me today.
Been doing a few chores indoors this morning.
Had plenty coffee...even had a huge blueberry muffin.

Surgeon told me yesterday to enjoy life, do whatever I want to, that would be my therapy.

Trying to decide lunch for today.

45 degrees outside..
Uuggh.

Need 10 deg warmer to tinker outside.

I'm happy@Peanut is getting things better with his dad.
Glad to see @MoBookworm1957 is improving.
I still worry about timmie.
I am concerned about @Sewingcreations15 .
