My internet is wigging out tonight - won't even let me 'like' comments. Frodo you are pretty handy with leather, making some nice things. Do you have an etsy shop? Or sell them somewhere?
Backpacker I knew you'd be better - so glad to hear it! Next checkup will be perfect. :)
CV here in WA and it is/has been in a nursing home in Seattle which is where the deaths have occurred (I think, unless updated differently.) I would love to stay home for a week or two, not because of corona virus, but just to get things done and have some down time. Unfortunately not an option for me.

LadyL hope you get a break soon. :huggs:

Just found out they shut down on site classes at the state university. Also several area schools go on spring break Monday, lots of talk about keeping them closed till April at least.

I had my follow up with the Dr today. They did a retest on my breathing. 2 weeks ago I was at 47% capacity. Today I was up to 72%. Dr was surprised I had improved that much, that quickly. I am going back in June and get tested again. He wanted me to stay on the sterodial inhaler until then to try and get my lungs fully healed.

Praise the Lord I am so happy things are improving. Thanks to all you for the prayers.

That's a big improvement.
Great news.

Meerkat, I didn't realize I was correcting anyone. LOL. But I'm glad it helped.
Backpacker, I'm glad to hear you're doing better.

Frodo is multi-talented. His paracord stuff is awesome as well. I think I vaguely recall him doing some metal work stuff too.

Went to the store & forgot to grab something Mom wanted. Had my phone off bc the battery went on the fritz. I turned my phone on the other day & it was at 50% battery life. It froze up at the loading screen and started to warm up. I tapped and swiped the screen, pushed all the buttons, tried to shut if off-- nothing worked. It was a bright warm (almost hot) brick so I had to pull the back off and yank the battery out. Put it back together & it was at 30%. I think I may need a new battery, but I suspect built-in obsolescence in the software. I was thinking that a very effective virus for phones would be to misreport battery life as much lower than it actually is & make the phone shut down (pretty sure hackers have already thought of that and it may be a thing already).

An employee coughed (dry cough) and his co-worker was saying "Oh HELL No! Don't you be coughing on stuff up in here!" There are now 13 reported cases of Covid-19 in Louisiana. Looks like way up northwest and then down southeast and along the southern coast. Louisiana hospitals (at least from my experience) already have abysmal hygiene standards so I'm worried it is going to spread like wildfire. I'm worried about my best friend who works on arcades at a casino. Lots of kids touching those things and kids are filthy germ factories. I also worry about my brother bc he works at the casino too but he's a cook so there is supposed to be better hygiene. He has COPD so he needs to be careful though. He is actually a stickler for people washing their hands. He saw a guy trying to leave the bathroom without washing his hands and shouted "Hey! Wash your hands, you filthy motherf***er!" (This was long before Covid-19 was around). The guy complied.

I forgot that Mom said she gave up chips for Lent & got her some bbq chips. She decided to eat them "so they don't go stale" & give up something else instead of chips. LOL.

Cats are piled on me & it's getting chilly. Will have to go back to the store & post office tomorrow & visit with my friend to help him work on his house & car, but for now, it's naptime.

Don't forget to say your prayers.

Well, well.. our new Governor is going crazy...
KY now has A case of coronavirus , advising everybody to stay home , no gatherings, church, sports, meetings , shopping...
Yeah, let's kill the economy as dead as possible. IDIOT.

Anyway , I'm not doing much today. Rain moving in , a-gain , storms rest of week. Uuuugghh.

Are you sure you weren't watching the NM news? That's what our Gov said today.

I actually prefer to stay home instead of going out. I'm a big Grumpy Cat and don't like being around a lot of people. I don't get anxiety like some of my friends do, but I just don't like it. It's nicer when the stores are barely populated & I have room to walk without worrying about idiots not looking before going around a corner or bratty kids running in to me or screaming and making noise. I like peace and quiet.

Still studying for my Amateur Radio license. The majority of the practice exams I'm getting a passing grade. The real exam I take this evening which is being hosted at a retirement community...yep you read right... at a retirement community. After the POTUS speech last night the retirement community may go into lock down which means no exam for me. I'll know by this afternoon.

Good luck with the test, you will pass with flying colors I'm sure!

Well , the wife has flipped out on me.
She is now gonna stay away from all crowds.

So we are headed to our local meat market to gather some meat . We are now officially bugging in for a while.
The ONLY thing we are short of right now is fresh meat.
So looks like we will be getting into our preps a bit.
That Toyota thing is growing in KY, had a guy, came home from Italy this week , next town over , now he's being contained/quarantined.

Wife and I fall into that old and health issues bracket, you know, the one where you die when you get it.

Just a precaution.

Bless her heart.

We also are in HIGH. risk of tornadoes and hail starting at noon. My

So for a few days , sorry, y'all can't come visit.

Well we women have to protect you men from harm, hubby is now being self gurranteened too well maybe not self gurranteened but ................

I am in Argentina for work on my way back now though. I will be quarantined for 14 days so that means my entire household (wife and 1 son home) has to quarantine once i get home. I told her sorry but your gonna be stuck in the house with me for 2 weeks, luckily we have 34 acres for "social distancing" ourselves from each other if needed! My son says he's leaving though going to go stay with his girlfriend because he won't be confined like that...wimp!

On a bad note I have a weakened immune system, I have an autoimmune disease (rhumatoid arthritis). On a good note one of the medications I was on is being used to fight this thing, chloroquine and hydroxycloroquine (prolly spelled those wrong) but either of those meds along with zinc supplement is being used. the cloroquine family helps cells absorb zinc by as much as hundreds of percentage points, zinc stops this thing from replicating. if a virus can't replicate it dies from my understanding (maybe lack of understanding though who knows I could be all wrong and misunderstood it). Anyways my rhumatologist told me to switch back to taking hydroxycloroquine upon my return since I have a stockpile of it and to take zinc supplements...just in case! so put me in the cautious but optimistic place of mind.

as far as needing things, we will be fine. our freeze drier is chugging along and shelves are stocked (toilet paper included and that is always stocked we didn't panic buy). Wife picked up some fresh stuff yesterday and we are good to go!

Be safe out there y'all

I'm at home.
Still don't feel well.
Home is where I'll stay for a few days.
Car has full tank of gas.
Pantry is full.
Running a bit low on beef, but got plenty of chicken.
Will be making big pot of vegetable soup later.
Strawberry and I are resting this afternoon.
Still stiff and definately sore from Tuesday.
Drinking some beef broth soup right now.

Homesteader, sorry you have to do this but we are basically doing it too. Hope your son is careful and when he is ready to come home to eat tell him he has to go into isolation away from the house like in the field in a tent, lol. just kidding.

My car needs that too - feel free when you're finished to continue over here 😂 That's just not a task I enjoy at all.
Me either, but I bought a windshield wand "thingy", and some "recommended by a friend" cleaner, it was fast, easy, and no streaks.

Took DH to rheumatologist 70 miles away this morning. Stopped at salvage grocery on the way back and have no plans to go anywhere in the immediate future.

Tomorrow we are going to start taking the half tsp. of baking soda and water and also zinc supplements. Mississippi has cases now so...

Going to refresh bug out bags this afternoon (even though we are staying in). Also have to change floodlight in back yard.

I told him if he is not there when I arrive he can't come back for 14 days or it will start the 14 cycle all over. That is the proper way to quarantine anyways, so I don't think he will be coming home during that time or him and I are going to have some "words of wisdom" and they might start with I'm gonna beat your &%$ boy"!

Sometimes our kids need tough love.
I'd throw a tent out in the feild and let the dog bring them food.:p:camping:

Did a loop this morning. Went into the bigger town to the pharmacy, then looped back to the small town I live near and went to the Dollar General. Spring has sprung or its darn close so that means my allergies are starting. I needed some more decongestant and they have some I like to use. They had a sign on the door that they were out of hand sanitizer.

After that I went to the grocery store. They had ham steaks on sale so I stocked up. Also picked up 10 pounds of potatoes for only 50 cents a pound ( outstanding price for around here).

Then looped home. Been cleaning some and taking in the sunny weather with the pups.

Since we've been prepping for a long time we're pretty well set. If anything I'd like to grab some more dog food for the pups.
We'll be heading to walmart saturday morning like always, so I'll pick up some frozen foods we need

We picked up enough great meat to hold us for about 3-4 weeks. Then it will be freezer prep meat. only in contact with 2 people at meat market.
Stopped by Dollar general for milk. Only contacted 2 people.
The bleach shelf was empty and no hand sanitizer.
I got gallons of both anyway. I have an old chest freezer full of TP.

We are home now, won't be leaving the farm until I am comfortable that this virus crap is under control.
No panic, no fear...just cautious.

Jim
