Spent the day outside. Cut some honeysuckle out that had came up in my grapes. Not done with that yet. Got the little Sthil 180 chain saw out and cut down a bunch of tree sprigs around different places. Had a small maple come up next to the shop, Cut it down mostly. Left enough stump that I can hook the tractor to it and drag it out. Don't want it coming back up. Rotated thru 20 gallons of fuel in the truck. Got 30 more to go.
This is the most I've had the energy to do since December. It took it out of me and I don't feel like I got much done. But I guess it's gonna take time. Glad I got to do what I did.

I know not good on grapes but I like the smell of honeysuckles. Good to know your able to work BackP hope your not too sore.

I'm in Sportsman's Warehouse in Pueblo right now. The jacka$$es here in Colorado are panic buying guns and ammo now. The store is restricting ammo purchases.

Sigh...
Beware!!! Here they come!......

Not really sore at all. But it wore me out. Not surprised, but see it's not gonna be quick either. I'm glad to be able to do something at least.
Honey suckle is a sweet smell when it blooms, one of the best. But that stuff can take over an area quickly if you don't stay after it. 2 years ago I thought I had dug it all out of my grapes. Nope, it came back. And it LOVEs climbing the grape vines. Don't take it long either.
I need to prune the vines as well, but today wasn't a good sign to prune in.

Honeysuckle is an invasive species in Vermont. I saw a note from the state Fish & Wildlife Dept. that they were in the process of clearing several acres of it and planting a couple native species that a bird they're hoping to bring back likes to nest in. Going by your description though, honeysuckle may be as persistent as raspberry bramble.

IMO Honeysuckle is worse than Raspberries. It's about as close to Kudzo around here as anything.

So Jake asked me if he could go to one of those trampoline places this evening. It was kind of strange to me because he never asks to go any place like that it's usually the closest Army surplus or someplace like that. When we were talking about it he told me a girl he was sweet on was going to be there. Now his mother had a different attitude about it than I did, she was worried about the virus going around and everything she could think of to keep her little boy at home but, with a little help with me we soon had her on board with us only to find out the girls mother was worried about the same thing and the girl was not going to get to go either. So I saw Jake was disappointed and asked him what would be something fun he would like to do instead he told me it would be fun to shoot some pistols. He picked out a couple of Rugers a 9 and a 22. he has been taught to clean the guns after he uses them.

Well another boring , uneventful day here on the farm.
Of course it rained all day, and the high temp was 42 deg.
The guy couldn't bring the firewood again...so he says tomorrow.

I never went outta the house.

At least I could get outside and dabble in some things if it would quit raining and warm up.

So I'm taking myself to the bedroom and tuck it in for the night.

Still on lockdown, 3 days and counting.

Honeysuckle is an invasive species in Vermont.

The honeysuckle vine most people have is also known as Japanese honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica). It is an invasive to much of the US and a pain... It is also very medicinal.

There are a few honeysuckle shrubs that are native to the US, very beautiful. These are ornamentals that can be purchased from nurseries.

I don't know if you are refering to a vine or shrub...

I have about 4 months of sleep to catch up on so I slept late, made pancakes, took a nap then spent some relaxing time in the woods with medicinal plants... A very good day.
