slept in good this am..needed it.
Took the dog to the town park for a nice walk around to wake up ..sipping coffee while the old dog does his poo routine.
ran a few erronds after.
At the small country store, I did notice the face masks and hand sanitizer were all sold out. Last weekend the shelves still had a good stock but after all that has happened..even folks out here emptied the little supply. However bleach and tp section were low but still had some on the shelf.
Had a nice afternoon at home , started with a run on the treadmill in the sunshine. Spent a few hours organizing the barn and cleaning the shop. I always manage to clutter the shop over winter. I just put stuff down where ever and head indoors asap. By spring, I'm weaving around boxes n stuff and it drives me nuts. So This weekend is the weekend to organize so I can finally get started on all the projects without having to weave inbetween crap n trip over stuff.
Right after sunset I heard my male turkey , Snorkel call out. I just put the last hen straggler in the coop at sunset and wondered why I heard him. He is usually the first to go in his hut.
I forgot to shut the turkey pen door and the male walked out and is now roosting on top of the chicken coop. It's not the first time it has happened, but tonight is supposed to rain and snow alittle. I feel bad..Turkeys are pretty hardy but still..dang..
I tried to call him down but he's not moving..
Otherwise, Im spending tonight catching up on here and news in general..nice night!

I have turkey hens that sit and will not budge when they see me. Doesn't help when they sit right in front of their door that opens in. Turkeys are stubborn.
Didn't get to the laundry room painting. Had a picnic lunch outside, and did my best to cheer up moody teen granddaughter. The staying at home is getting to her. Like it's forrrreeeevvvveeerrr. I tell her it's not. Moody day for her. Cheered up a bit after movie time. They watched, "Dinner for Smucks" and had choc cream pie for pi day dessert. We worked on the new 1000 pc puzzle a bit, too. Did some cleaning. Will have to kick things up a notch tomorrow. Daughter that leaves for Alaska tomorrow will be by late morning for a visit. Youngest daughter will be by for dinner after work.

I'm trying to catch up. Can't remember the last time I posted. It warmed up so I was able to go for a bit of a walk outside. My cats were running in front of me and lying down in my path. Two of them started to have a disagreement so I stepped in between. I faced the one that was more aggressive and told him to knock it off so he sat down & wagged his tail. The other cat (who had moved farther away) then flopped on his side and started sliding across the grass on his side & then rolled over a couple times until his paws hit my foot, he then curled up around my foot for a few seconds before kicking off against my foot and sliding back away again. He repeated that a few times before I started walking again.
Looking around I realize I'm going to need to get some trees cut down so they don't obstruct my satellite dish. Since we sold the tractor I haven't been able to go out and bush hog and those pine trees spring up fast. At least the timber company hasn't done the "controlled burn" recently & set my barn on fire again. Well, what's left of the barn.

My brother came home with some respiratory crud-- claims it's just the common cold and he passed it to me. I've been washing my hands and trying to avoid passing it to Mom. All the other casinos in the state have shut down except the one he works out & they just changed his hours to a schedule that is more harrowing on his health. He now works earlier in the day on week days and gets out at 11pm but on weekends he goes in from 6pm to 2am and he hates those hours- but they don't let him have any say in what hours he works. His direct supervisor is in the hospital after having surgery (gall bladder). I was feeling really dizzy Friday night & couldn't find my pulse at first. Couldn't remember where I put my bp machine & felt like absolute garbage so I called one of my cats that I know will come when called. He zipped in and immediately started cuddling me and purring for me so it helped me feel a little better & I was able to sleep. Still felt exhausted in the morning- took some stuff over to drop off at my friend's house (dog treats that my late dog liked but remaining dogs won't touch, a shower valve for when we get their new tub in, and some toilet paper). I went to the post office before it closed & got my new PEX cinch tool. I was going to go to the grocery store but I felt too crappy. Still need to get milk & hope they get hamburger meat in. It was cleared out last time I went. Cooked up some hamburger meat last night.

Mom fell in the kitchen while I wasn't home but my brother was home and was able to help her up. She's a little sore but nothing is broken. She uses a cane but she got off balance and fell backward.

My friend replaced the fuel pump in his "new" car but it still won't start. Injectors are not firing.

No way, sugar is the devil! 👿
They use corn syrup instead of sugar anyways. Horrible stuff. I don't drink sodas. I hate carbonated drinks.

Sorry about the court hearing, Meer. Sounds like your daughter has her hands full. Ours is a little different situation, none of the three can go back to their moms ever. No court hearing ever. They were taken away lots of times, and became the property of the state, and were going to be put up for adoption. So we know when we got guardianship, it would be till they're 18. The twins were really messed up 5 yrs ago, feral in my opinion. They are normal now, but we are very very strict. Little one has some stubborn issues, has had lying issues, and thinks she is the boss of all, but is coming around. She will fess up about lying now, especially if I stare at her long enough. Cracked up today, husband and I saw her walk out of her bedroom, shut and lock her door. I knew why. Ha. Her bedroom was a mess. Husband asked her, and she almost started to lie, and changed her mind and said her room was a mess. I told her to take a ten minute break, then get at it. She did. She's doing well, but all the kids were raised with no rules, manners, or common sense. We even have house rules tacked to the wall in the hallway.
Well, I finished painting half the laundry room today. Will finish the rest tomorrow.
I'm glad you're there to take care of the kids & that you're making progress with their behavior. I've seen what happens when the kids don't get the attention/discipline they need. My best friend's ex's son is a total mess. He's on the path to prison life, and it's a shame bc he could have turned out ok if his mother wasn't so lazy & horrible. More on her later. (Moron fits her quite well. LOL).
I still need to clean out the hallway to the laundry room (or get a friend to help me) and do laundry.
Solved a problem, I had. My "communication room" had zero wall space. I wanted wall space to hang a custom topographic map of the area round our home. I hinged a piece of 3/4" plywood over the basement window. The backside of the plywood (side facing the window) I painted flat black. On the room side of the plywood I hung the topographically map. The plywood swings up to the floor joists and a simple catch can keep it there. Now I can let light in or swing it down when I want the map.

All is good...until now I want to hang another large map.

Lowes (a big box lumberyard) has 2' x 3' galvanized steel sheet for $11.48. Two of these sheets will cover the hanging 3/4" plywood. I plan on using contact cement to attach the steel to the plywood. Then I will have a magnetic bulletin Board! I'll use magnets to attach the maps on the plywood. Rearrange the maps as needed (SHTF). Win win situation.
Got any photos of it? Sounds awesome!

Wife had a hen party today. One of the ladies was a bit upset because she saw two different Walmart customers with guns! From what description I could get out of her the guns were pistols and they were open-carried. Then I got jumped by the ladies. "Why would anyone carry a gun to Walmart!", they asked me.

I said with this media virus scare going on there are a lot of nuts out there. I asked them if someone was hurting them would they rather I stand there watching as I dial 911 or would they rather I stop the person that was hurting them? Ladies said they would rather I stop the person!

Then I asked them if they have a spare tire in their cars. Of course they asked. "Why" I asked. "Are they planning on having a flat tire?" "No". But if they have a flat...then I asked if they have fire insurance on their houses. "Of course!", they answered. "Why? Are you planning on having a house fire?" I asked. Again they answered, "No...."

Then I asked, "Wouldn't it be prudent to go to Walmart armed with the intent of not not needing it but have it if needed?

They ladies all started nodding their heads in agreement.

If I had lifted my shirt tail they would have seen a S&W M&P and a spare magazine on my right hip. 😃
The only time I ever got mad about seeing someone in Walmart with a gun was bc it's a guy who should have been in prison & not walking around with a firearm. Too bad the cruelty to animals law didn't come until after he got caught bc he likes to murder animals in horrible ways-- like putting out rat poison in wet food, having cages where he can trap people's pets and then go toss them in the river to drown them, and poisoning them with antifreeze. He murdered my friends' two dogs as well as a litter of puppies nearby-- they saw him putting something in the puppy pen in the neighbor's yard and then all the puppies died of poisoning. The guy also lied to the cops to blame one of my friends (a different friend) of burning his own trailer down-- landlady had the place burned down bc she couldn't legally evict him for being gay. Anytime she has a tenant she can't legally evict, she has their trailer burned down. There is a convicted arsonist living next door but the cops arrested my friend (fortunately, he was released). The animal murdering creep was going around threatening to kill my friend and his boyfriend but the cops wouldn't do anything about it & he was still allowed to walk around with a gun- especially after making death threats against people. Creeps like that usually escalate.

I personally don't have a problem with people open carrying when they are sober- seen some guys out with guns and beer & thought it was a bad combo. My powerlines used to get shot down frequently by drunk hunters. I also take issue with people standing outside the polling/voting places with guns & trying to intimidate people-- had some do that one year to "stop n****ers from voting". That's the kind of area I live in.

Speaking of which, all public schools have been shut down so my ex had her friend & her boyfriend bring little Zoey (my friend's daughter) and dump her over with my friend's fiance while he was at work. Just in time for the kid to have diarrhea & need a shower. She's sick so the mother sent her away (any time school is closed, she sends her kids away bc she hates watching them). My friend's fiance is pregnant and was complaining about getting poop on her hand. I told her she's going to have to get used to that when she has a baby. I'm so worried this girl will not be able to handle being a mother- she can't handle being a pet owner much less take care of a baby. She's way too quick to anger & she's dumb as a stump- albeit, not as dumb as my friend's ex.

Well another boring , uneventful day here on the farm.
Of course it rained all day, and the high temp was 42 deg.
The guy couldn't bring the firewood again...so he says tomorrow.

I never went outta the house.

At least I could get outside and dabble in some things if it would quit raining and warm up.

So I'm taking myself to the bedroom and tuck it in for the night.

Still on lockdown, 3 days and counting.

Say those prayers people.

Manyana..

Jim

Keep your weather down there, please :p

One of my daughter's and her family watches church on TV now too. She was telling me about this morning. She also likes to listen to Bible verses on Yt .

Our most wise and benevolent government had decreed no gathering may contain more than 100 people, including church.

Here is an Irish blessing for you today: May the good saints protect you, And bless you today. And may troubles ignore you, Each step of the way. 🍀

Just another Sunday for us, other than our teenage son is coming home for a few days due to spring break (not coronavirus). He is spending a few days here helping with some chores and such (and steal ammo as usual), then he is going to his grandparents for a few days to help them with some chores and household maintenance. He is growing into a fine man that's for sure. Plus I am not so sure how much longer I will be able to take him in a fair fight, so I might have to start cheating.

Our church live streams all services as well. It's a wonderful option, especially when our kids were little and under the weather. And a few times when we got 10-12" of snow overnight. But we are going to services this morning regardless of COVID-19 and any proclamations from Caesar.

:Thankyou::thumbs: and your son sounds like a fine young man. We are blessed with a son like him only a lot older.

On Friday we got informed that sacrament meetings and all meetings at our LDS church were cancelled until further notice or done via technology.

Sorry I haven't been on lately we have been catching up with shopping on groceries and other things to build our stockpile to the 12 month level and been getting work done around the home before DH goes for his back operation on Friday.

Today we I put on a load of washing on the clothes line, DH washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away. We folded up 3 loads of washing and put it away and did a general cleanup of the home as well.

We had friends today come over to give DH a priesthood blessing for his upcoming back operation on Friday and they also brought out sacrament for DH and I too. They passed on a message that DH can now do sacrament at home until we are able to go back to church.

Both friends had never seen our home so we showed them around the home and property and we all had a great time. One is a doctor who has not been out due to work commitments and being on call where he is not able to be more than a certain distance from the hospital in case he is needed.

@Tank-Girl for your information containment lines are broken for Corona Virus here so strap yourself in we are all in for a very bumpy ride. We have one case around 40 km from us here and no doubt more to come.

Doctors advice is that it is mostly only effecting those with autoimmune/bad health disorders or the elderly the rest of the cases are recovering well. Could see shutdowns of events etc till after August here is what I am hearing.

Sewing, hope surgery is successful anc hraling is quick. :huggs:

Well, I am gonna go brave the store. Wish me luck, lol.

Good luck shoppping @Curmudgeon and hope you get what you need to buy. It is a madhouse anywhere near the shops here in Australia too.

Thanks.............didn't work, lol. I went to the local DG, I just needed some coffee creamer and a gallon of milk, no such luck. I had to drive 10 miles one way just to get a gallon of milk, they only had 2 in the cooler.

DG was ravaged, freezers near empty, no eggs, milk, creamers, canned goods nearly gone, every single roll of TP was gone, they have racks that cover half of the back wall and they were completely bare, lol.

Crazy times.

Being self isolated,

Wife and I both have several, serious underlying health issues, so our church was open today, and some did attend, our service is aired on internet.

We just stayed home and scraped some food together, ;)

Can't do be anything outdoors...wind is howling temps in upper 30s..

So , snug as a bug in a rug, fire in stove..lunch done..

I'm happy..just hope y'all are safe and having as good a day.

Jim

Am just catching up.
@MoBookworm1957 Hope you are healing. Your quiet other than the sound of S. snoring sounds delightful.
@Bacpacker So glad you are feeling better. Sounds funny, but feeling better will help you feel better. We had a few honeysuckle up the mountain, but they didn’t seem invasive. Only ever saw occasional wild and I had one in the yard I planted which was slow growing.
@Peanut Sounds like just what you needed. Maybe try doing the same again tomorrow.
@The Lazy L Did you pass your ham test?
@Sewingcreations15 Prayers for hubby. It will go well - I just know it (you know that feeling?)
@phideaux I sure don’t believe in the panic, but am glad you are taking precautions to stay healthy- especially of late.
@hiwall You're quarantined too?
@hashbrown You 3 are an awesome family team.
@snappy1 I have a question about your spuds - will ask in appropriate thread.
Am probably missing some - sorry.
Also, my mom informed me why there is a shortage on TP. She said it’s because every time 1 person sneezes, 100 people mess themselves. (She actually used slightly more vulgar verbiage that I won’t use here in polite company.)

Still in isolation, but it's Sunday, so had visitors. (both daughters) I am convinced our young generation could never isolate. Youngest daughter said some of her friends were depressed over this, so one in particular, she picked up to bring with her to run errands. The 20-30 yr old crowd here love the nightlife. Number 17 announced here today. Child #4 flew out to Barrow, Alaska. Child #5 still working the University hospital ER for 2 more weeks. Homeschooling starts tomorrow. Little one will work on her math, spelling, and penmanship. (Her reading is outstanding). Twins will be working on a book they've chosen to read, writing a page about it after each chapter (for spelling and penmanship), math with Papa, and everyone has a science lesson in the afternoon where we'll be making cheese. Grandson can continue with his French lessons on the computer. Supposed to be 70 tomorrow, so lunch will be a picnic in the yard. Twins are aiming for a 16 minute time on their almost 2 mile run.

My brother was sicker today & had to call in to not go to work. He's coughing a lot and feeling like crap. My mom now has a cold too. I'm still feeling icky as well. Hoping it's just a cold. No one in my Parish has been confirmed as testing positive YET but my friend's fiance's best friend is being tested for it now. Not sure how long it takes to get results. Guam news said they have 4 cases tested positive (I used to live in Guam so I follow their news). I remember we used to get the worst viruses there bc people were coming in from all over & bringing whatever crud was at different ports in & the flu would be awful. I was sick for 7 months straight toward the end of my stay there.

I'm waiting to see if they will close the casino my brother works at, which means I'll really have to stock up on food because he doesn't respect the food rules & boundaries and will eat everyone else's food. He eats large quantities in short periods of time & isn't even aware of how much he's eating. I'll go to get something out of the fridge that I put in the day before & it's gone. I don't think he'll listen when I ask him to ration the food a bit. He already went through almost an entire case of chicken noodle soup. He also uses a ton of toilet paper.

I'm still feeling exhausted and have been coughing & sneezing & feeling like crap, but I can still breathe at least. My brother had plans to go hang out with friends on Tuesday but he'd have to use Mom's car & she said he's not allowed to use her car for anything but going to work & back until he takes the trash out-- which he's refusing to do.

I'm not sure if the casino will have to give employees pto for closing or if they will just be left without paychecks (assuming they actually shut down). My friend said there is a meeting on Monday to discuss the plans.

Well I was going to go into the small town I live near and hit the grocery store for the sale items but really I don't need anything so I'm staying home ( like I always do lol)

Just going to do some laundry, work on cleaning up another raised bed today once it warms up slightly. Burned off the dried weeds in the one bed yesterday ( left it go fallow for a couple of years)

Maybe watch something on live streaming tv this afternoon ( not sure if I will), or might just read
