Got the last of this year's school work printed out for Roo. She only has a few more weeks before she is done for the year and with 3rd grade. Once the school year is done I'll pack up this year's curriculum until Juju needs it in 5 years. ;) I want to set up the school room this summer so it works better for both Roo's studies and my sewing/crafting.

I have been emailing my mom most of the day. She and my dad have a puppy they are raising that they got after Christmas. She is almost 6 months old and a real pistol. My dad is complaining about her barking which they have never really had a dog do before that way this one is. So I am sending my mom our bark collars. Our girls are getting older and don't bark as much so I have no issues passing them to my folks. I had to do all my shipping online. Our local post office is no longer offering counter service so I had to buy postage online and schedule a pick up date.

Hopefully we can avoid going out this week. I have the flimsy accordion masks for the girls right now (bought a box of 72 kids masks back when I was pregnant with Juju during the Ebola scare) but with K back at work I don't want to have to take them out if I don't have to.
Every dog is different, but something that we have used for stopping unwanted dog behavior was a squirt or spray bottle. Every time the dog has an unwanted behavior, squirt with water. It sure works with Rhodesian Ridgebacks. They do not want to go outside if there is any moisture falling from the sky, and they do not want to get sprayed with a squirt bottle. Just an idea for your parents.

LOL! We use the spray bottle trick with our cats. I mentioned the squirt gun my mom used with her other dogs and she said it just eggs the puppy on. She wants to try a bark collar to see if it works at curbing the barking. The one I sent her is a citronella spray bark collar not a shock collar.

Something about the smell of citronella dogs and cats do not like. One of our cats was marking the door mat by the front door so I cleaned it really well and rubbed some citronella oil on the tiles under it. No marking since.

I did not know that about citronella. I will remember that for future pets.

The spray bottle works great on Roo too. It gets her attention when she is trying to ignore us. Disrespectful brat...!

I had to go to the little town last Tuesday for my mom’s prescriptions. I had told her over a week ago to call all her doctors, get prescriptions changed to 90days. Then, make sure they all can be filled at the same time. She’s 84 and starting to show signs of dementia… Organizing all her prescriptions proved to big a task for her. At least now I know I’ll have to do this for her. Because while in the big town on my errands yesterday she called about more prescriptions that needed to be picked up today in the little town.

So, it was errand time again today. I had intended to get my 72 pepper plants transplanted into the garden, oh well.

This afternoon I did some more organizing and cleaning on the porch. I got the peeps container cleaned and new wood shaving put down. I raked up all the hedge clippings from yesterday when I took the chainsaw to them. Tomorrow I’ll bring down the frontend loader to cart them to the brush pile in the pasture. I have some red oak that needs to be moved off the porch and stacked near the shop. I intend to make charcoal with it this summer.

I still have to reposition the outdoor shelves for all the herbs I’ll grow on the porch this year. All in all a productive day but it still needs another half day of work.

Ok, I'm done for the day.
After posting this morning , I immediately went out and finished the last wheel and caliper on the Vette. Took it out on the interstate to blow the cobwebs out of her. That was fun. Try to drive it once a month.

We had lunch..sloppy joes and fries.

Then I moved 2 trailer loads of firewood to wood shed, while wife took zeroturn out and did some more mowing that I had curtailed..hmmm.

Then I took the tractor, behind old barn and scooped up a bucket load of good soil for the flag pole flower bed. Spread that.

Excellent day.

Why am I getting leg cramps ...uuuugghh.

@Meerkat While in the big town yesterday I drove by dad's nursing home. I waved and talked on the phone with him while I could see him through his window... can't go in the nursing home for obvious reasons. He's doing well, I want him out of that human petridish as soon as he is able to come home, hopefully next week.

Very nice. My cousin has a 77. He may have driven it 4 times in all the years he has owned it. His knees are so bad he can't get in or out of it.
I guess someday his kids will sell it.
Remind me to stay on your good side. From the picture, you look like one very big guy. It must be fun for you to get in that.

@phideaux drink lots of water and good you had fries with lunch. Eat another spud tomorrow. Cramps are often due to a need for potassium which spuds have lots of. Car looks sharp!
@Peanut porch is looking nice. Hope your dad gets to come home soon too!

I cleaned in the summer kitchen. Not finished but sooo much better. Emptied 2 more totes- Making progress. Mowed the lawn. Hubby brought some good soil from up the mountain so got one lg garden plot tilled and the new soil and a bunch of dried grass clippings tilled in with it. Next weekend will do the same for where the tomatoes will go. Pulled weeds, watered my apple tree etc. A good day:)

Funny thing is, I could not own one if I had not had my knees replaced.
Yeah I'm 6'3" at 245 lbs, but there is a trick to entering and exiting..practice.
If this was my daily driver , in and out many times a day , I would not own one.

It's not too bad once you learn how.

I have driven it 3 times in 3 months. Just to keep the oil up and seals from drying out.

It's fun.

LadyL what a busy day, good for you!Its good to see so many doing ok now hope all here are .:huggs:
I know it is corny but I need you guys to keep me entertained informed and feeling good. it takes a load off huby and kids too at times.

Another relatively lazy day here. Did some dishes, then my ex brought our daughter and her other daughter out to the lake so I met them there and we walked trails for a while. I kept social distance of course, since I've been in places like the Colorado front slope where the 'Rona is rampant...

Then went for a run and just finished a load of laundry. Now I'll make a late supper consisting of ham, eggs, and a burger. Or maybe I'll put the ham and eggs on the burger. Either way I'll get my protein tonight!

Meer entertainment you need? Ive not shared the most entertaining bits of the past two days. Day before yesterday started out all good meaning I had coffee. Took my shower and as I was ready to step out, it dawned on me the largest towel in the bathroom was a hand towel about 12x16! Well now that was tricky. (I’ve been trying to wash more etc for good measure 🙄.) Later I noticed the coffee pot was blinking it’s red light indicating it needed to be cleaned so did so. Yesterday morning, hubby brought our coffee in (we drink our coffee in bed). He took a sip first “Humph” says he. What says I. Tastes funny. I took a sip. Blek! I hadn’t run all the vinegar out before setting it up for a new pot!
So now you should be somewhat entertained for a bit 😂

I bet that woke yall up!😁
We gave up on coffee pots and just boil water and put a filter in our cups pour water over coffee grounds. We keep the water on low so it stays nice and hot for next cup.Kinda liek we did over ou wood burning stove when I was a kid.

Long day today. Went to CoOp and picked up tomato plants, seed for Butternut squash, cantaloupes, Peaches and cream corn, yukon gold tater slips and some flowers plants for the wife. Cleaned up a lot of the brush I cut yesterday (took forever). The ran the disk thru all 3 garden spots. Tilled one spot entirely getting it ready for my cuckes, okra, tomatos, and peppers. That spot stays wet longer than the others, but it was in good shape to work up. Also tilled a spot in one of the other spots to plant taters and beans in. Wife made a loaf of bannana bread from some old nanners we had. Brought me a hot piece out while I was in the garden. That was a nice little break.

No, they were full prices on everything. They had a lot of plants, but fewer options on variety than normal. the plants all looked good and fully stocked. They also had plenty of onions slips and bulbs, but very few taters. Yukon gold was all I could get and they were sparce. Kennebacs were totally gone. No strawberries. Plenty of tomatos and peppers, not a lot of flowers. Herbs were pretty full.

I have the feeling that this is going to be a big year for gardens. I am seeing that people who have never has had a garden before are getting ready for one this year.

I agree Weedy. One guy that was buying plants was a guy that was 80+ I would guess. Seemed rather frail actually. He had the biggest load of anyone. Bet he has gardened for years. Other in there was most likely buying for the first time. THat was obvious.

And I bet your right. It is scary to think that what we grow may be all we get.Not sure about nations farmers producing now or not. even if we have a little food stored those who don't will be a serious threat.
