UPS dropped off my newest "headsup" gear. Ambient WS-2902B Weather Station.

When I ordered the WS, I cemented a galvanized fence post in the ground to mount it on.

Mounted the wind vane, the wind cups and twist on the rain gauge funnel. Install two AA batteries.

Outside unit comminution (Line of sight) to the inside console. Test inside before mounting outside - Passed.

Two "U" bolts and four nuts fastens the outside unit to the fence post. Tighten the nuts insuring unit is level and pointed North.

Move the inside console to my comms room in the basement and...YES it can communicate to the outside unit!!!!

Connect inside console to my WiFi. Now I can get my weather from my smart phone. Also receive hi/low alarms too.

WS will help with my Skywarn duties (secondary) and for SHTF (primary).

Current wind is 9.6 MPH from the SW.
We like our weather station. I never tied ours into the wifi (we don't have smart phones).

Ahem. What I did after lunch was construct a venison stew in my crock-pot. Venison tenderloins*, chunks of potato, whole baby carrots - skinned, black pepper, Sean's Black & Blue Barbecue Sauce, water. Sometime this evening I'll report the result (if I'm able after eating it).

This morning I drove to the local (state) airport, where the National Guard and the state were giving out MREs. Asked for one pack, they gave me two anyway.

Really? The Natl Guard already handing out food?
Took a couple of Aleve. We packed an entire large pod, and had homeschooling. Granddaughter's health class on line today was a half hour gripe fest from her teacher about what a pain it is, to do curriculum and have her kids at home and everything else that bothers her. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. What a waste of time for these high schoolers. Pod #1 is now ready to be picked up. Plumber coming by to remove an old boiler. Friend coming by to pick up all our bantam chickens, so there will be another chicken run to take down.

Today was another "why do I do this for a living?" day. But then I came home to a little blonde girl and a little brunette girl waiting to hug their Dad (as soon as I could change clothes and wash up) and I remembered.

That did not change the fact that I scraped up the side of a marked Chevy Tahoe today by hitting a retaining wall while responding to an alarm call. That sidewalk looked awfully narrow when I decided to take it, but sometimes you just have to pray and hit the gas. Besides if I took the long way around I wouldn't have got to hit that doper/burglar and see him fly up on the hood. So that was fun. By the way dopers cause far less damage to vehicles than decorative retaining walls. I wonder if the boss is going to still approve of my working 2-3 hours of patrol every day after this? I bet he is. He loves a good story.

Yep, this is the 2nd week, in conjunction with the Food Bank, visiting three state airports per week. One more day, Friday, and I think that covers the state. One reason they're doing it - I think - is because the governor is "opening things up" very gradually. He is hoping to avoid the upsurge in virus cases that some folks are predicting. In the meantime, some folks are running out of funds and stocked food.

How long has it been since you've heard the word "Drats!" I'm sure that's what you said - right? Sorry you had a rough day, but glad 2 littles made it better:)

OK, I ate some of it. It's been an hour and a half, and I ain't hurting yet. Certainly edible, moderately tasty, only very mildly hot from the sauce. It could use something, maybe an onion.
When brother Sheridan was alive, we used a Crockpot quite frequently for potroast with fixings and for stews. Maybe I'll get back to it.

Strawberry slept with me last night.
She hasn't done that in about 3 months.
She's a bed hog.
So I finally gave up the bed at 0345 got dressed including teeth.
Fixed breakfast, picked that up.
Checked my online Grocery order at Wal*Mart yes it would be ready for pick up at 1000.
By 930 was out the door went local butcher shop/cafe placed my good size meat bundle order.
Finally decided to use some more of the money, you wonderful people sent me.
Got the next to the largest meat bundle.
After checking around on prices for several weeks, this little mom and pop shop had the best prices.
Tomorrow the chest freezer will be fuller.
The refrig freezer will be full.
And I won't have to buy meat again til September or October.
And I won't have buy any meat but chicken that's on sale this week too.
Chicken leg quarters is $6.47 for 10 pound bag, might have to pick up 3.
Then will spend a day or two breaking them down to portion size for me.
Same way with the meat bundle will spend a day or two breaking it down to portion sizes for me.
Spent some time with Grand daughter this afternoon.
Finally got a nap.
Sipping coffee.

While I am generally not one to curse, I may have invoked words that should not be uttered in the company of a lady. ;)

Thank you. I didn't even know one could make wine out of watermelon.

It's raining, so Haircut day
I had wife cut my hair today too.
Rode bike again to start building myself up for the summer. Worked some in the storage room today. Put the bags of flour, cornmeal, and sugar into sealed containers. Restacked many items to get like items together. Puttered around in the shop.
Put duct tape, sticky side up on the backs of the hanging chairs and porch swing on our covered deck. Now those bluebirds won't sit there. Funny watching them land on that tape. Now they are mad at me.

Of course you can also muscadine wine too here in the south if we can make liquor out of corn aka Corn Liquor you know we can make wine of melons.

The tower climb is still up in the air due to safety issues we were unaware of until yesterday. Also got a call from the boss, seems our division directors boss decided he wanted all supervisors and planners back on site. So Monday I have to report back to the lab. I do have to call medical tomorrow and talk to them about my illness episode, but I doubt they'll keep me out now. I had got used to working from here. Wife and I are both bummed over that news.

LazyL how does your rain gauge work? Is it a auto dumper system?

Well BacP maybe time will fly and you can get back home soon. Be careful on that tower though make sure it stands.

Since I sent this, I have seen a rumor that the Guard will be back in a couple weeks. It makes some sense, each MRE pack being intended to provide 2 meals per day for two weeks. That two per day makes sense, since the carton is labelled 'Emergency Rations". They don't seem to be nearly as 'emergency' as K-rations were though.

Y'all have all been so busy today.
That's a good thing.

Rain,and storms all day.

So I got around to pulling the flip up headlight motor on the Vette , passenger side, because it was making a grinding noise when it closed.
Pulled the whole headlight assy, took it to workbench, opened up the gear motor fully expecting more damage to plastic gear.
But , only about 8 teeth were worn , so I pulled the gear rotated it 180 deg, reassembled, installed the assembly, KACHING..good for another 26 years.

Only 2 things left to fix on the toy now.
The radio antennae, and drivers side electric mirror are inoperable.

Good productive day.

Jim

Here we go again... just got in from chasing cows that were out and grazing beside the highway. Maybe if I start billing my grtnephew $50 every time I have to chase his cows, $75 if it's at night.... all that will do is make him mad, won't get the fences fixed.

When he got here I found out they were out yesterday also! It must have been while I was in town getting groceries for the folks.

Somebody is going to get hurt and sue him... maybe then he'll learn to fix a darned fences.:mad::mad:

I had to take my mom's heart monitor to the doctors office in town today and get my groceries, quick and easy.

Now I get watch tv before bed...

@phideaux I have been busy today. I don't like this kind of busy. Time to do something for me.
Peanut, no words. How can someone just NOT repair fences and their moo-cows keep escaping? Bucket head nephew.
@The Lazy L I like your weather channel. Yours too, hiwall. See, that's something you wouldn't ordinarily see a woman setting up.

I think @Bacpacker will let everybody else do the climbing, that's why he's the boss.
A friend brought me lovely dessert.

I had a test to do online, and only a short amount of time to get it done and submitted. o_O
I've learned how to do things in the past year that I would have rather just let someone else do, but no. I had to do it, and now I know. Just as soon as somebody does the hundred meter mosey over to my house is when it gets done so I do it myself. So, I haven't gotten shocked yet, or busted my knuckles or gotten greasy hands. I'm still making a lot of errors though. lol

OK, Meer. Move update: Was originally hoping for end of May. Not happening. Then mid June, but husband scheduled 2 local doc appts here for the end of June. So now it's July. I say the first week, he says mid month. Pod #1 is all loaded to the brim, though. It gets picked up Monday. The 11th of May comes the next pod, #2. It gets picked up I think the 15th. He scheduled the last pod when I want to move, the first week of July. But the date can be changed. We're thinking of towing a small uHaul behind our pickup truck when we are gone for good. We also need to bring 2 dogs and a parrot. Possibly some chicks. Found out that they can open transport my Challenger and a couple of motorcycles for a decent price, so we might take them up on that. Rather be in one vehicle with husband, animals, and 3 kids so I can give husband a driving break. We'll see on that, though. Bantams got all picked up this evening, so another run can come down tomorrow. A cousin called today and filled husband in on all the goings on at the farm. He is a dairy farmer, and the milk company that picks up from him said that they've had to dump two tanks. They will be picking up 30 percent less milk from the dairy farmers because of the lack of transporters. I'm thinking making lots of cheese and waxing it. He put all the junior cows on our property and they're using the main barn and munching all the grasses growing tall. He was worried about satellite sightings that the community is talking about and talked to my husband about it. They've had 27 cases in their county of covid. We get more than that in one day in our county.
