Lost my reading glasses at work today. Retraced my steps 3 times and never did find them. Had to stop 2 places on the way home to find another pair.

Used the drip system to water most of my garden. Picked my first jalapeno, 2 cabbages and a few blueberries. Apple trees for the most part look really good. Should get a decent harvest. Was looking at my small pear tree and admiring the one tiny pear on it, when I looked over at my big Barlett Pear tree and saw a decent size pear. I was shocked, it didn't even have any blooms on it. I got to looking closer and holy cow, there is a bunch of pears on it. Not sure how that is but I am thrilled.

Hey folks- if any if you who are the praying sort don’t mind- my dad isn’t doing great. He hasn’t been to a doctor since he was about 30 to get stitches so has no doctor. We finally convinced him he needs to go so tomorrow Mom will call a Dr. I suggested or take him to urgent care. Prayers would sure be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Wishing you and yours the best.... finding a good general practitioner is a must...

I had a quite day, didn't do anything but make brownies... Hey, its a start! Brownies aren't as complicated as a pie or cake but at least I've finally baked something with my new stove.

I had just left the County Seat when I saw a woman sitting at the concrete curb, I'd guess late thirties early forties. She was sitting in a lawn chair with a large American flag flapping in the wind as she read a book. Strange I thought, why is she sitting so close to the road reading? As I passed I saw a sign she was holding up with her legs. Sign read, "Blue lives matter". I changed my route to drive around the block to pass her again. This time I slowed down and beeped the horn a few times to get her attention. As she looked at me I gave her a thumbs up. She waved and smiled back then went back to reading her book. Best protest I've seen in a long time!

I had a bumper crop of pears last year , remember, I was giving them to everyone.
This year..2 little pears on each tree.
No plums either.

Gotta get a pic of my canteloupe and watermelon.
Crazy .

I woke my wife today at 5:15 so she could see the baby elk outside. She loves babies. (don't worry she went right back to bed)
The sun had not crested the hills yet so the pics are not very good but here are a couple shots.

Its wierd that our pear tree hasn't bloomed this year either.Daughter and I were talking about how many things have changed lately this morning.

Done at doctor. Added another heart med. Go back for labs and visit in 30 days.
Got the paint at Lowe's..place was packed.

It's nuts out here...
People have been quarantined, now they forgot their manners.
People are thinking that LE is not responding .... they're pushing thins to the limit.

I can see it getting worse every trip to town.

I hate leaving the farm.

Going for lunch if I don't get killed.

How strange~ so far here at least, I think folks have been more courteous lately which I appreciate.

Grouchy people here, too. Have a showing in a half an hour, so we'll be going to the post office and to the grocery for more cherries, if they have them. Husband's favorite. The house is clean. Had the plumber test and return the bathtub jacuzzi pump and motor today, so now only the big panel needs to be put on. The oxygen company that has a Kansas location brought by equipment for husband, tanks and bi pap stuff. Then I saw a man standing in our dining room, and he was from the old company to pick up the old equipment. Was ready to turn around and grab my handgun. Our door was not open. He didn't even knock. He saw the look on my face and started apologizing. When he left, he walked over, opened the door, walked off and left it wide open.

Prayer for you and your family LadyLocust.
Strawberry and I were walking this morning, out of no where.
Downpour, no clouds, no forecast nothing.
Needless to say we cut our first walk of the day short.
But we'er working on 3 miles today if not more.
Rain or no rain.
Going to be making deep dish blueberry cobbler this afternoon, maybe.
Definately will have to have ice cream with it.
I'll have to run to store for ice cream, but it will be worth it.
Sugar free deep dish blue berry cobbler with sugar free chocolate, vanilla ice cream.
Working on Christmas, walking not much else.

Thread seems full of mostly sudden unfortunate circumstances. I can add several. I was staying up late keeping an eye on very sick daughter this week. Eventually drove 30 minutes more or less to get her seen. Surgery that next afternoon. She's recovering.
Next, bro had accident, totalled car, not his fault, but now they see he may have lung cancer.
A.C. keeps cutting off in the house. 3 different fix it visits by techs in one week and it's off again. It's only 93 or so (Sarcasm).
The mice are not apparent. Maybe they moved out. That'd be good news.
@hiwall thank you for elk photos. Warms my heart.
Bacpacker, ain't it something? I used to find my reading glasses on top my head or hanging off the front of my shirt.

Things are ok. We're all going to be ok.

You've had a bad week, Patchouli. Prayers for you and your family! I had a call from my favorite Kansas cousin, and while covid numbers are not much there, her husband's cousins in Indiana have seen five deaths. Older Amish. She said he's so sad and doesn't want to talk about it. Our house showing spent an hour here, so maybe that's promising for an offer.

I'm going to win...
I have just a four foot section of trim left to prime and then I start actually painting.

My acrophobia is calming a bit because I keep going up and down the ladder. The ladder is my worst enemy and my best friend. Each step is a small victory and enough small victories can win the war. :)

Walked this morning (may have been a mistake with hurt hip).

Took neighbor to a salvage grocery store that was new to me.

Came home and made sugar free butternut squash pie, 3 bean salad for dh, and then cooked squash medley which is now in the PC. That's it for today.

Prayers going up LL and for all the others that are sick, or taking care of family that is.

I'd like to request prayer as well. My mom has been having asthma problems and let it get ahead of her. Her Dr got her started on some new meds, but also wanted to get a CT of her heart. She went back yesterday for results and he's sending her for more heart test and pulmanry test. Also step dad had his physical yesterday and his Dr wants a scan on his kidneys. They are both in their 80's. Dad is in pretty good health overall surprised at his test. Mother has had breathing problems for a while. Also deals with vertigo and major back problems. She hates going to a Dr and puts stuff off. Sister and I have been riding her past few months to get checked out. Hate shes having so much stuff going on, but glad shes getting looked at.

It is Father's Day weekend, which means I am being doted on. Wife refused to let me do dishes last night, then she refused to let me mow the lawn this morning, kids are now out doing the lawn work and chores I normally do on Saturdays while she is making something in the kitchen. Plus they all keep whispering so I presume they have something planned they are trying to keep a secret. Apparently I am supposed to just be lackadaisical all weekend and let them do the heavy lifting. So I am just sitting here on the sectional with my feet up playing on the internet and watching some gun videos. That could very well end up being my whole day.

Today is Saturday...it's hot outside.
93 deg @ 9:20 am.

Any suggestions , as to what an old fart with a bad heart, screwed up back, should do on a day like this?

It will not be outside .

May prepare bathroom for painting , new floor, and new turlet.

May drive up to Black Patch for their Chefs Salad for lunch.

I love remote start on the cars on days like this.

If the Vette wasn't BLACK , and had remote start....I'd take it out for some exercise today.

My tomatoes are chest high ...and loaded with babies. Banana peppers are loaded also, and need picking.

Could go turn on the AC in the shop and do some reloading....but it's Saturday.

I guess I'll just sit and watch Andy Griffith and Lone Ranger.

Now THAT is a meaningful demonstration. Quiet, peaceful and not disturbing anyone while making a powerful statement.
