Called my dad to wish him Happy Father's day.
Call lasted approx. 55 seconds.
He hung up on me again.
Had the grand daughter today, her dad had to work.
Pretty good day with grand daughter, Strawberry and Granny.
We cleaned out refrig, swept the floors, sat a table with our coffee and visited.
Yes, she drinks coffee, straight up black(2 tablespoons coffee, rest is water) in her little enamel ware blue cup.
We made several salads up for the coming week for Granny to eat.
Fixed lunch, sang songs, had to have a little more coffee(same as above for her).
She wanted Granny to hold her while we watched "How the Grinch stole Christmas".
We watched Grinch 3 times.
Jim, that's her favorite movie.
Moved her to my bed when I was sure she was in deep sleep.
Granny laid down beside her for a minute.
We slept for 3.5 hours.
All in all good day.

That's interesting. The first offer came in $82K under asking, and it's only been on the market less than three weeks. They spent an hour here Friday and then made that low offer. Then we had a showing Saturday first thing in the morning for over an hour. Turned out it was them again. A new offer came in at $40K higher. With a contingency. They own a house they are selling and its supposed to close 7/7. So they want it for $40K less than asking, and want it pending until they close, and if they don't close on the house their selling, then no go. Not good enough. Our agent sent us the listing of what they're selling. They are trying to bargain hunt, because they want a house "in the village" where we live. Houses here are minimally an acre, and are more expensive in general. Our agent is irritated with their agent because he is a butthead. We are countering, down $10K, with no contingency. That's as low as we go. What bothers me, is we are not moving till 7/13. And we are not renting out before closing. So, they are in a predicament that is not our problem. We own our house and we own the farm we are moving to, all free and clear. So, we are not in a predicament.
That is a really ridiculous offer. There are places where you can buy a house for that amount.
I hate when people try to make their problems someone else's as well.

I started drinking coffee after my mother died. We had coffee, but didn't drink milk in our house. We could have coffee with milk in it. I started out drinking about as much milk as coffee with sugar. As I got older, I stopped the sugar. Then reduced the milk. For many years I used Coffeemate. A colleague suggested to me that it was nasty and that they used half and half. I tried using half and half and really preferred that. It was an evolution for me and have been using half and half for more than 20 years now.

My mom started Grand daughter on coffee when she was just 1.5 years old.
Grand daughter knows if she wants coffee at Granny's house she has to set at table.
None of this wondering around, spilling stuff.
Grand daughter will be 3 in two weeks.
Her cup is out of my toy Hoosier cabinet.
Her cup is a toy too.
Her favorite plate out of the toy cabinet is a pie plate.
And that's what she eats out of too.

About 20 years ago Mr.Meer aka hubbys mom sent him a newspaper clip about how good coffee is for the kidneys. He had kidney stones twice before that and painful plus treatment was not good either, painful.
He hasn't had a kidney stone since he started on the coffee. He drinks about 4 cups a day now.He was drinking about 4 cups just in AM plus throughout the day.

I had major house cleaning planned, got some of it done. Had planned a trip for minor groceries but… A guy I know stopped by. A couple of years ago he paid me to come up to a farm his dad left to him and tell him about the wild plants that were growing there. He actually lives and works 100 miles away in a major city…

Since then he stops by from time to time… today he stopped for 4 hours! So much for some of my plans. But it was some interesting conversation, he’s smart and articulate. His daughter (who is studying to be a homeopathic doctor) recently talked to him about a mysterious person named Q on the internet. I had mentioned Q to him last year sometime, he showed no interest. Things have changed, now he was eager to know everything about Q I could tell him.

Another turn of the conversation... We were talking about families. Turns out his mother was the granddaughter of a woman I have read about in my family ancestry… Yep, turns out we are distant cousins, we share a great-great grandfather.

Something else of interest happened. Turns out his farm that extends into a swamp goes all the way to a river. I didn’t know it extended to the river. I now have a place to put a fish basket for fresh fish anytime I want. Being related to half the folks in 3 counties does have it’s advantages. :)

So, all in all an interesting and fruitful day even if it wasn’t what I planned.

Well, I have found her setting in a chair at the table periodically.
But usually she sits under grand daughter's chair for any dropped tidbits.
You know if you're sitting enjoying coffee with Granny, there's usually fresh fruit or sugar free cookie or bread added into the mix too.

Just got done signing the papers for the land behind us. We now have 22 1/2 acres instead of 10 1/8.
I would kind of like to buy the bare 10 acres on one side of us (the only private land touching ours). The owner called me once and offered it to me for 200 grand. Too rich for me. He has had it for sale now for more than a year and has dropped his price down to 100 grand. I'll just keep waiting. I don't need it and have no use for it.

We just took a ride on dirt road to see whats going on 30 acres away.Mainly looking for sqatters and to see how close solar farm is ,couldn't see solar farm but seen a few more people have moved in past couple years since we went down to end of road. Saw a pony loose two ladies said they knew where its home was so they are taking care of it.
been on phone off and on about things going on in Atlanta where one daughter lives. She said she is tired of the news,so no news today. We need to put shade clothe over roof of greenhouse but its too hot.Maybe bake a cake or make some cookie.

Went to the farm store, got a toilet flush handle and a trough for the dog to play in. Fixed the toilet, and filled the dogs new spa. When it cools a little, fill the chicken feeders and waterers, sweep the patio.

100 grand??? We paid less than $15,000 before closing costs!

An acre in our neighborhood is $180K. Crazy. Just for dirt.
Congrats Terri!!!! You can spread out now! That is the size of our farm, and it's enough to do what I want.
So...three weeks to the day and we accepted a good offer today. From the people who lowballed. They stepped up. We move in 21 days, and we close in 25 days. So, our agent is running around getting the well and septic inspections done. I think it was their agent who was the butthead and told them to way lowball. That's what we're hearing anyway. This last rally was a good offer, as is, short close, and came with a personal letter from the mom. She said their family of four young boys were soooo excited. Loved the bunnies and the chickens, each child could have their own room, and she hoped we would consider her offer because they would love to raise their children here. We accepted their counter offer actually before I saw the letter.
Finally painted that door I've been putting off.
