Had to leave for an hour and a half first thing this morning for a showing. Did get a stupid offer from yesterday's showing, but too low. Our agent said to counter with the full asking price. I guess their agent is one she is not fond of. We'll see if anything comes of the one today. Need to make some chocolate cream pies for husband for tomorrow. Will make them today so they can set right. Also need to paint a door that was replaced. And pick green beans.

Do they look like this??

Kinda like that. Crushed chocolate cookie crust. Filling is homemade, and is dark chocolate, topping will go on tomorrow, and it's fresh whipped cream, instead of the meringue.
Husband's favorite. If I ever used boxed pudding mix or cool whip he would gag. So for father's day, his birthday (next month), holidays, it's always what he asks for.
Have lots of zucchini, and dehydrators were packed, so just put 2 loaves of choc zucchini bread in the oven. Kids favorite. Granddaughter is making some chocolate syrup right now because we're out, and she loves chocolate milk. I guess it's a chocolate kind of day. Glad I have a lot of cocoa powder.

Still need to paint the door. Did some laundry. Trying to keep things cleaned up in case we get another call for a showing. Kinda hard with three kids running around. Usually by 4:00 it's safe, and I can hang laundry and relax a bit.

After lunch , a late one, stopped by Food Giant grocery store, picked up some sausage and snack items.
Came home ran the mutt for a while, too hot.

Tied up tomatoes again.
Sprayed tomatoes with Epsom salt water, last time.

These things are 6 ft now.
If I get tomatoe for every bloom..it's gonna be a great harvest.

9 year old neighbor girl had a small bunny fall into her bedrooms egress window well (something that has happened before at both our houses). She came over asking if our 10 year old daughter could help her get it out. She gets there and the girl has a ladder, a fishing net, a carrot, a lettuce leaf, some big winter gloves, and other items all ready for the rabbit rescue. My daughter just jumped in picked up the bunny and set it free. The other girl took off running into her house screaming the whole way. My daughter came home and said "next time she can use the net and get it out herself". I got a good laugh over it and fortunately was able to see part of the fun on video surveillance.

Sentry, Sounds like you have a " got it made" weekend going on. Good for you.

Jim Those maters look great. Mine are only 3' tall, but I was late getting them in the ground. But they are making up the difference pretty quick and lots of maters and blooms on. Same with the peppers.

I mowed today, mostly cutting weeds, we've not had much rain last couple weeks so grass is going dormant. Kinda glad about that. More time to do something besides mow every week..
Also picked almost a quart of mulberries, half pint of blueberries, A huge bell pepper, and a gallon pot of plantain for prcess for a tinqure. That'll be out first attempt at that process. Wish us luck. Also ran the drip system for a couple hours while i was mowing. I have some wild blackberries ready to pick as well. they are just getting started. Next couple weeks will be busy.

Heading up to my parents for fathers day tomorrow for brunch. Looking forward to that.

Thank you folks for prayers. My dad got to go home today. There is no real diagnosis at the moment. They kept thinking his heart and every heart test was good. I kept saying diabetes but nobody listened to me. Today finally Dr said would watch his blood sugar as it was not bad but on the high side ( after not eating for many hours) so he has to change his diet. My mom said he’ll need to cut back “so when I make cookies I’ll only save him 2 rather than 8 or 9.”🤬. She thinks that’s helpful. How about don’t make cookies. I’m just the kid so only so much I can say. I’m grateful at least he is getting some care. That was his first Dr visit in 40 years. He was grumpy but knew he needed to be there. I’ll go see them tomorrow and check up on them. Odd becoming the parent of your parents. I know several of you understand that. And thank you and blessings to you all 🌺

Not much done today, watched or read about history jusyfor fun.
BacP, told daughter about that video you put up ' Star Spangled Banner, her and her hubby really liked it too.
Jim those plants look great, our pitiful toms not so good.

I went to town today to pick up some dog food the feed store left out on the dock for me yesterday. They are closed on Saturdays but they use the honor system for those times you can't get there during opening hours.

I was stopped at the one and only traffic light when a wedding party went through the T intersection.

We have the no more than 10 persons rule in effect here, but it was good to see the bride and groom standing in the back of a pick up truck for an old time wedding parade. It was pretty obvious that a lot more than 10 people were at that wedding as I counted 17+ honking, loaded cars and trucks blow the red light.

So, Corona rules broken, riding in the backs of pick up trucks and blowing the light.
It was good to see some rural spirit still alive, and no one with their knickers in a knot.

@phideaux For a brief moment, I actually smelled those tomato plants. Power of suggestion.
@LadyLocust I would be frustrated with no results for your dad. Something is missing.
@ClemKadiddlehopper I'm glad somebody got married! Not enough of that going around lately!! I know two couples that got married right at the beginning of the pandemic which wasn't when they had planned.
@Sentry18 we used to get wild baby bunnies in our windows too (back east). A couple of times they fell on into the basement if the windows were open (although I'm not sure how that happened). They were handfed all sneaky like by a 4 year old girl a few times after that as they would get into my flower beds. That's so cute your daughter's neighbor got all prepared and your girl just reaches in and picks it up, no fear. hahahhaaaaa

So far I've made our breakfasts
Got a shower
Have hubby's work clothes washing
Checked on the garden and things are just now starting to get food on them
Plan on making cookies today
Got lemons for 40 cents each so I think I'll make a lemon cake later on in the week and dry a lot of the peel and freeze the juice to use later on.
Have to get blood work done tomorrow morning
Hubby is trying to sell one of the Deuce N Halfs and has a guy coming this morning sometime to look at it
He says he might get rid of the other one too and all the motorcycles. I say go for it since you don't use them. We use the 5 ton army truck more than anything since she can haul all our wood pellets at the same time. We could use the money for the future really.

Got up, shaved my head, took a shower, putting our bedding in the washer, took the dogs out to play, cleaned up my grill, and sat down on the patio to enjoy the coolest part of the day when I was rushed by a group of kids wanting to give me some father's day gifts. I got a big metal pig for the patio and a set of Grill Grates with tools for my gas grill. We then called my father-in-law and sent out some text messages to my brother-in-laws before watching church online.

Today is also World Giraffe Day so I made a donation to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation under the name of my daughter who LOVES those long necked mammals. Ever since she was a little girl she has been enamored with giraffes. We have been to many zoos where she has been able to hand feed them.

We are going to watch a family movie today, take the motorcycle out for some rides around the neighborhood, and tonight I am going to smoke some brisket burgers.

It's been hot as hell the last few days. It feels much hotter than the temperature says it is though. Pollen is still in the air. I get a headache every time I go outside. Brought my friend over to help me pull the old toilet, put on the repair flange, put in the new ADA toilet & bolts, etc.

I'm waiting on some stuff that HD says has arrived at the store to be "ready for pickup". I keep checking order status, text messages, & e-mails to see if stuff is ready. Something that was supposed to be ready on the 18th is still not ready. Another thing that arrived says it won't be ready til the 24th. And something that was supposed to arrive on the 11th never shipped & now it says ETA is the 29th. I suspect they aren't going to send it & I'll have to get a refund.

I put a new toilet seat on the ADA toilet. Put toilet shims underneath bc the repair flange raised it enough to make it move. Got the old toilet boxed up to re-use in the guest bathroom. Then Mom says she liked the old after-market handle that had been on the other toilet-- she had previously said she didn't like it... She has no idea what a pain it was to install that thing. It had some stupid hinged swinging arm that didn't want to tighten. I might just get a similar lever with a better lift mechanism. The original factory lever broke after 5 years. Took the factory 1 off another tank & it lasted another 5 years. Problem was it had plastic in it & the plastic broke. Replacement handle is all metal.

Got my new kittens home & in their 3 tier kitty condo cage. 2 beds on different levels, a hammock near the 3rd tier, litterbox & small cat tree on bottom level. Food & water on 2nd. Ramps/ladders for them to run up & down. They love it. Our dog, Princess likes the kittens and wants me to take her to see them. She wags her tail & touches her nose to them. They seem to like her. I've been telling her that they are her kittens to love and protect. They are using the litterbox & not complaining about their accommodations. Before they were in a much smaller rabbit run & my friend wasn't changing the litterbox regularly. Litter was getting in their food & water & the room stunk. I've got a long-handled retractable litter scoop so I don't have to bend much to clean the box.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Looks like it's going to rain here.

Its dangerous to ride today.Too many people not paying attention.

I think the bikers are paying attention and not assuming everyone else is aware.
Not doing much today. Taking care of one in need.
Hope all the guys here have a great Father's Day. Even if you're not a father, you still have the potential and may have been as a father figure to someone, unbeknownst to you.

:great:

Watered my yard, loaded up some more planters for daughter to plant some dill, cilantro and basil she started from seed and could get planted in them now. Also, took another large planter over for a black cherry tomato plant of hers. We just need one more large planter for her and a few smaller, but not too small. Watered her plants as she is in North Dakota seeing her dad's side of the family. Time passes so quickly and it has been two years since she's seen any of them. I am happy for her and all of them.

Came home and dug up part of a flower bed and amended it with peat moss. I removed a 5 gallon bucket of white iris and another 5 gallon bucket of day lilies. These things become too overgrown and need to be refreshed every couple years, plants split up, divided. I gave the two buckets of plants to a woman in my neighborhood. I planted some lavender plants, penstemon, and gladiola bulbs. I have more work to do there.

Since I couldn't see for all the sweat in my eyes, it was time for a break. Came in, ate, and had a nap.

Had a second competion today (don't ask). Came home and unloaded the car. Collect eggs. Took shower. Wife said it's Father's Day and I'm to choose the resturant. She agreed to the resturant I "suggested". Change clothes and off we go, I pick up the tab.

Grandkids face time me to wish me a happy Father's Day. Cute little Buttons!

We watch our church service on YouTube.

My aunt got a stupid low offer a bit ago. They refused to even counter it was that ridiculous. A week later they couldn’t believe there wasn’t a counter offer and they agent said they wouldn’t even entertain such ridiculousness. A week after that they came back with a reasonable offer. It’s been in escrow a few weeks now and hopefully done by the end of the month. We’re ready for it to be done. It didn’t work out last time it was I’m escrow so I’m not holding my breath.

That's interesting. The first offer came in $82K under asking, and it's only been on the market less than three weeks. They spent an hour here Friday and then made that low offer. Then we had a showing Saturday first thing in the morning for over an hour. Turned out it was them again. A new offer came in at $40K higher. With a contingency. They own a house they are selling and its supposed to close 7/7. So they want it for $40K less than asking, and want it pending until they close, and if they don't close on the house their selling, then no go. Not good enough. Our agent sent us the listing of what they're selling. They are trying to bargain hunt, because they want a house "in the village" where we live. Houses here are minimally an acre, and are more expensive in general. Our agent is irritated with their agent because he is a butthead. We are countering, down $10K, with no contingency. That's as low as we go. What bothers me, is we are not moving till 7/13. And we are not renting out before closing. So, they are in a predicament that is not our problem. We own our house and we own the farm we are moving to, all free and clear. So, we are not in a predicament.
